I find the visualization of the flows a great help in setting up rulesets. It is convenient that you can first put a workload in Selective Enforcement mode to gain insight into which flows are going to and from those workloads. The draft view on the map clearly indicates what would be blocked in Full Enforcement mode. I also find it positive that Illumio offers APIs that are easily usable, allowing us to enrich our workloads in Illumio with information from our CMDB. We were able to automate the installation of the VENs via SCCM, which I find very practical.

It is a great tool --- it delivers strong, identity‑based micro‑segmentation. And it helps to reduce lateral‑movement risk and eventually helping security teams enforce policies with confidence.
