I am a beginner user of Hex and I use it to create dashboards and do analysis via threads. I like that I'm able to easily manipulate data in ways that Salesforce reporting can't. I appreciate Hex AI because it's very easy to use and is pretty accurate. Additionally, I like that Hex is connected to Snowflake for our data.
I find Hex super useful for a lot of data movement and Python clustering. It's also great for structuring conversational data and serves as an excellent data modeling platform, much like a live Jupyter Notebook. This setup works well for ad hoc analysis. The embedded LLM is quite useful too, as it allows live querying and chatting within the system to the database, which I find really beneficial. Having everything in one platform is quite useful, especially compared to using Cortex in Snowflake or switching back to a Jupyter notebook.
I like Hex because it combines SQL and dataframes, allowing me to perform complete analyses without needing a big data store like BigQuery or Redshift. With Hex, I don't have to hire a separate product analyst as it covers my needs. I appreciate that it enables me to fire small queries and keeps data in dataframes. Switching from Metabase to Hex was mainly because of its AI threads and notebook features, which I find valuable. I also like that I can use Hex with Slack, which fits well with my workflow.
Hex is the world’s leading AI Analytics platform. With Hex, anyone can explore data using natural language, with or without code, all on trusted context, in one AI-powered platform.
