A basic tool for effective coordination of IRS units

GINA SmartCAD is very good tool for emergency response coordination. It helps us coordinate units designated for handling emergency situations, makes their ride to the incident site easier thanks to navigation, and has accelerated the transfer of information between units at the scene and the operations center. At the same time, it is a valuable assistant for incident commanders, providing them with important informational support. Thanks to this application, the operations center has an online overview of unit movements and also enables us to see the vehicles of other emergency services.

Smart CAD – Essential Support for Every Firefighter on Duty

As a firefighter, what I appreciate most about Smart CAD is how much it improves coordination and response time during emergencies. The system gives us a clear real-time overview of all active incidents, available units, and their exact locations. When a call comes in, dispatchers can assign units quickly, and we immediately receive all the key details on our tablets or mobile devices — including the address, type of event, and any notes from the caller. The interface is intuitive, so even new team members can learn to use it quickly. Communication between the operations centre and field units is smooth, which really helps during complex incidents like large fires or accidents with multiple responding services. Overall, Smart CAD helps us stay organized and focused on what matters most — saving lives and protecting property.

Essential for Emergency Coordination, Though Updates Are Slow

Our company uses GINA’s applications for both professional and volunteer firefighters to coordinate units among themselves, but primarily for the rapid transfer of information about the location and type of incident between the operations center and dispatched units. This functionality has significantly reduced the response of units arriving at the scene of the emergency and simultaneously provides informational support for these units and the incident commander. At the same time, the operations center receives feedback and an overview of the movement of dispatched units through these applications. We also use the applications to coordinate units within the command staff during large-scale incidents.
