Freemius makes it much easier to sell software globally without having to build and maintain the entire commerce stack yourself. As a merchant of record, they handle payments, subscriptions, VAT/tax, invoices, compliance, and many of the operational details that would otherwise take a lot of time away from product development. For anyone selling plugins, extensions, or SaaS products, Freemius provides a solid end-to-end platform: checkout, licensing, renewals, customer management, analytics, and growth tools. The documentation is also clear and structured, which makes it easy to integrate into modern developer workflows, including AI environments where docs can be searched, summarized, or used while coding.

Easy to integrate. They offer a licensing API that fits our use case perfectly and is straightforward to manage. Their cost structure is clearly explained, and I personally think it’s very fair, especially compared to other MORs. On top of that, Freemius has great support. They’ve always been quick to respond to any questions or comments I’ve had. All in all, we’re very happy!
