Finto is a Munich-based AI company building agents for accounting around ERP systems. Its software runs accounts payable on its own: incoming invoices are checked, assessed for tax, coded, matched against purchase orders and posted straight into the ERP. The company's bet is that within a couple of years the first accounts payable teams will run autonomously. For decades accounting software could only assist: OCR read the document, machine learning suggested a code, workflows routed the approval, but a person still did the booking. Large language models changed that, and Finto is built around agents that do the work themselves and escalate only where they are unsure. Early customers already process more than 80% of invoices touchless, even cost invoices. Finto is built for mid-market companies and groups with complex, multi-entity accounting. After going through Y Combinator in San Francisco, the founding team deliberately based the company in Munich. Finto is backed by Y Combinator, Gradient Ventures and Lightspeed.
