House Matters is practice-management software for solo home-service operators - home watchers, property caretakers, and recurring-route cleaners who look after homes their owners are away from.
Operators keep every client home in one book, with the owner, the visit cadence, the rate, and a checklist specific to that property. Each day's route builds itself with overdue homes surfaced first and stops grouped by neighbourhood. Visits are worked one-handed from a phone: check off each item, attach photos, and flag anything wrong. Completing a visit sends the owner a branded, itemised report and files the charge automatically.
A flagged problem can be quoted and turned into a billable work order with the owner's approval, so small repairs and errands are captured as they happen rather than reconstructed at month-end. Homes paused for the off-season drop out of the route and the active-home count, then return on a set date.
Billing runs per visit. Charges from every home belonging to one client family bundle into a single invoice, sent through the operator's own Stripe or Wave account or as a Venmo payment link. Money settles directly with the operator - House Matters takes no percentage - and every charge copies into QuickBooks.
House Matters is free for up to three active client homes with every feature included, then $19 per month or $190 per year for an unlimited book. It is built for one-person operations and does not offer team roles, multi-technician scheduling, GPS-verified check-ins, or e-signatures.
