Soon after my patent was issued, I needed broader markets confirmation before moving forward with the idea. First off could a company add it to their Portfolio or buy it from me? This is the larger scenario of patent investment since Patents could potentially conflict. I was contacted by Cypris describing the benefits that the Market Intelligence report would give me. Shortly after agreeing and receiving the report I was impressed with how many competitor patents were generated in the report. There were patents I hadn't seen in my google searches that I performed previously. Also impressive are the list of companies that are the potential to manufacture the invention along with the extensive list of contacts that you can click to connect with. In Summary, I should have requested the report before I filed for the patent but for the low cost of the report it was a no brainer for me to have it completed.

I own a patent and wanted to identify infringing technologies and potential licensees. I used the Cypris tool to quickly put together a list of companies & it was a lot more dynamic than I thought it would be. I liked how the report was interactive & had a lot of depth. My alternative would be to spend time on Google, putting together a target list - which is extremely time-consuming and aggravating, so this is an alternative that was well worth the money. Another alternative would be to hire an attorney, but they're expensive & they have their own agendas...
