First of all, the software does work and is active. There are new versions every year, which is reassuring. We've been using AMember for 10 years. At the time, it was the only subscription software that worked with Joomla, so we had to go with it, and they haven't disappeared like so many web developers who make plugins. It's also inexpensive, which is both good and bad. We WISH it cost more so it could be a higher-end product, if that makes sense. But it has evolved, I have to say, and it has become more sophisticated. We use a lot of integrations: Stripe and PayPal for payments. Google Analytics for ecommerce tracking. ActiveCampaign so that we can have a Members-only newsletter. Their documentation is a little bare, but the fact that these integrations actually went smoothly was a pleasant surprise. The back-end doesn't look too bad, either - it's easy to navigate, and I prefer the simple look to something full of distractions. It's web software, we don't expect flashy interface behind the scenes. If you're using Joomla, though, it still may be the only choice available to you.

I love how well MOST parts of the program are written, and through extensive user feedback, every angle has been covered. There are a lot of integrations, especially payment systems, that give folks from all different countries the opportunity to use this platform. They put out updates regularly, and the code is very well written. Email support is quick to respond, generally.
