The best part about Xosphere Instance Orchestrator is that it just works. Install it, tag some instances, and save money without even trying. It addresses a specific problem in a simple, non-invasive way, with close to zero operational overhead.

Aside from the technical benefits, we also like the pay-as-you-go licensing model. This allows us to increase or decrease as needed without having to worry about capacity planning. And there's no vendor lock - if AWS or another vendor comes up with a better solution, we always have the option to uninstall without any risk of operational impact, contract violation, or cost risk. There was a bug in an earlier version that was causing a large number of queries to the AWS API, which contributed to our rate limit. In some cases, it was causing throttling to occur, which resulted in various delays within Xosphere Instance Orchestrator and other internal processes that were talking to those APIs. XOSphere is incredibly helpful in quickly and consistently utilizing the spot market. Over the course of our ~1 year with XOSphere, we've had 0 problems to speak of. It's consistently saved us 80% from on-demand prices and done so without any oversight.
