"Streamlined German Accounting with Automation Edge"
4/5
What do you like best about Visual Books?

I really value Visual Books for its alignment with Germany's GoBD tax regulations and its built-in support for RPA integrations, which is perfect for our outsourced accounting team. Unlike other software, Visual Books is ready with German-standard reporting templates like EÜR profit statements and VAT summaries, which means I don't have to spend time formatting spreadsheets to satisfy local tax authorities, saving me hours each month. I also like how seamlessly it integrates with our RPA tools, letting them push data from client invoices straight into Visual Books without needing to mess with CSV files. The system also flags issues like inconsistent tax rates or missing invoice IDs, which means I can review them efficiently. Furthermore, its GDPR-focused permission framework is fantastic because I can control which team members have access to specific client data, ensuring compliance and protecting sensitive information. Lastly, the interface is lightweight and focused, getting rid of unnecessary features and keeping workflows simple. This makes using the software intuitive, allowing me to concentrate more on refining our RPA processes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Books?

First, its native automation and RPA connection functions are quite limited. While it accepts basic structured data uploads from our bots, there is no real-time bidirectional data sync. After our RPA tool pushes batches of invoice data into Visual Books, I still have to manually refresh ledgers to pull through updates, and there is no automatic alert system for failed data imports. When dozens of client invoice batches stall mid-transfer, I have to repeatedly check import logs one by one instead of receiving centralized error notifications. Second, bulk editing and archive management tools are underdeveloped. At month-end tax reporting, I cannot multi-select groups of client transaction entries to apply unified tags, lock records or batch export GoBD audit logs. I must process each client’s financial dataset separately, which eats up hours of repetitive clicking right before tight reporting deadlines. There is also no one-click bulk archive function for closed annual client books. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
