TiDB Cloud has two products, TiDB Cloud Serverless and TiDB Cloud Dedicated.
For TiDB Cloud Serverless, both the compute and storage are on demand model with large free quota to attract developers. And TiDB Cloud Serverless can automatically scale, even scale to zero, which is very friendly for applications with unpredictable workloads.
For TiDB Cloud Dedicated, the pricing model is traditional node based pricing, which is common for DBMS productions. The customer will be charged based on the instance, provision storage, backup and data transfer usage.

What do you like best about TiDB?

1. It is a fully managed database as a service running on AWS, cost saving for operation and management.

2. On-demand expansion nodes for peak traffic.

3. Mysql ecosystem compatibility.

4. supports processing both TP and AP workloads. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TiDB?

1. Sometimes it may causes higher resource consumption for smaller workloads scenario.

What problems is TiDB solving and how is that benefiting you?

The previous database on AWS can not scale for large volumes of data. By migrated to TiDB Cloud, we can address the performance challenges and scaling requirements. And TiFlash can run the realtime analytics based on TP data, which benefited for our business agility and reduced the operational costs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about TiDB?

I use TiDB for quick MVPs as a replacement for MySQL and PostgreSQL, especially for projects that need scalability. I like the helpful community managers and the abundance of documentation and tutorials available to understand the product. TiDB effectively solves the headache of scalability. I also appreciate the AI technologies offered by TiDB. Its MySQL compatibility, horizontal scaling, and high availability are features I value highly. What do you dislike about TiDB?

1. Some parts of the documentation feel advanced. More diagrams would be helpful. 2. No AI integration directly to the clusters/instances for valuable insights. 3. Cloud deployment was difficult. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
