The software is very easy to use. It is easy to generate state reports and then to export those reports into Excel or Word. The tax research function is also very helpful when researching complex tax topics. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Very useful for Tax research"
4/5
What do you like best about Checkpoint?

I've used this software in my current job and during my time in school and it has been an absolute life saver when it comes to finding tax law and other relevant materials. If you're looking for tax regs or other information to back up your findings, this is one of the most useful software out there to gather all information into an easy to use place when searching certain words. It also helps by adding boolen functions so you can summarize your searches very well and try to pinpoint what you're looking for. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Checkpoint?

As with anything that looks over tax documents, the information you receive sometimes isn't always useful and the software does not help too much at times. Sometimes the stars next to certain items are not always what you're looking for and you won't always know you've selected the wrong item until you're 15 IRC pages deep into a research project. "Checkpoint Tools an excellent resource"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Checkpoint?

Checkpoint tools is a great resource especially for an accountants use. There are so many resources to new accounting standards updates, resources to standards and regulations, Financial statement tools, and especially since the field I work in is a specialized industry it has quite a lot of resources for that industry. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Checkpoint?

Personally I would like to know when each audit program is updated to a newer version, especially in the industry that I work with. This would greatly reduce the time it takes to update a new checklist. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The best in the industry, but also the most expensive"
5/5
What do you like best about Checkpoint?

I've used the 3 "big guys" in this space (CCH IntelliConnect, BNA Tax & Accounting and RIA Checkpoint), each for over a year, and Checkpoint is definitely the most user friendly tool that provides the quickest answers. They all have great content, but Checkpoint offers the quickest and easiest answers. The search tool is great, browsing is easy. When it comes to the user, there are no complaints. My favorite tool is the create-a-charts, which are dynamic and update as the tax rules and regulations change. They are also very customization and a great way to get quick answers Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Checkpoint?

The cost - it tends to be more expensive than just about every competitor. While I do think it's worth the cost, you may want to consider other options based on your company's needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Checkpoint is a handy tool for finding useful information quickly!"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Checkpoint?

I use Checkpoint quite regularly. It is a job requirement of mine assure our clients that they are handling the challenging tax compliance issues they face correctly. Without Checkpoint, I would have to conduct research much more often, which can be very tedious. Checkpoint is great at summarizing and placing the important information in my hands when I need it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Checkpoint?

Checkpoint can be difficult to navigate. Users who are not familiar with Checkpoint will have a difficult time in learning how to find information. There are other companies, such as CCH, that have better ways of compiling information for users and is easy to find. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
