However, some users note that the export features could be improved for better customization.

"Quick Setup and Smooth CRM Sync for Stronger Sales–Engineering Collaboration"
5/5
What do you like best about Steerlab?

Setup is very quick. It syncs with our CRM, which makes it easy for our engineers to add technical details to the responses we send when people request proposals. That, in turn, helps our sales team and the solution team collaborate smoothly and stay aligned. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Steerlab?

I think it would be better if we could see more detailed information about how people use our stuff, like the kinds of questions they’re asking. That would help us improve our content library over time and make it more useful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"AI Automation That Lets Us Respond to Nearly Every RFP Opportunity"
5/5
What do you like best about Steerlab?

We used to sit around a table and decide with RFPs were worth our time not because we didn't want the work, but because we simply didn't have the bandwidth to chase everything. That conversation doesn't happen anymore. we respond to nearly every opportunity that comes in now. The AI takes on the repetitive groundwork and the team puts its energy into the parts that actually require human thinking. That shift alone changed how we operate. What do you dislike about Steerlab?

Chrome extension coverage is good but not complete. A handful of portals still need you to switch over to the full web app, which adds a small but noticeable interruption to an otherwise smooth process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Steerlab’s Source-Backed Answers You Can Trust for Proposal Work"
5/5
What do you like best about Steerlab?

Steerlab does not try to impress you. It gives you answers with sources and if it does not have one it says so and stops. No extra information, no guesses that sound confident. For proposal work. Where a wrong answer does not just look bad it can cost you the bid. That kind of approach is exactly what you need from an AI tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Steerlab?

Right now, there’s no way to export responses into a presentation. After a bid, every summary deck still has to be created from scratch, which feels like an unnecessary extra step when all of that content is already in the platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Clean Interface and Frictionless Onboarding That Saves Real Hours"
5/5
What do you like best about Steerlab?

I’ve used enough proposal tools to know that a clean interface is never a given. With Steerlab, everything is simply where you’d expect it to be—no wandering through settings, and no decoding terminology that only makes sense to whoever built the tool. We had someone new join mid-bid recently, and they were contributing the same day without anyone having to sit with them. No guide, no walkthrough, nothing.

When you’re managing deadlines and coordinating a full team, that kind of frictionless onboarding isn’t just a nice-to-have; it genuinely saves you hours. It’s also one of those benefits you don’t fully appreciate until you’ve dealt with the alternative. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Steerlab?

The Chrome extension works well across most portals, but there’s one regional platform we use that still isn’t supported. It’s not a dealbreaker—the team has confirmed it’s on the roadmap—but for now it does mean the occasional manual workaround in the meantime. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"One Shared View That Keeps Our Team Aligned and Version-Safe"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Steerlab?

Assigning sections, tracking who’s done what, leaving feedback, and signing off on answers it all lives in the same place. The days of attaching Word docs to emails and crossing your fingers that nobody saves over the wrong version are completely behind us. Now the whole team works from one shared view, and everyone always knows exactly where things stand. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Steerlab?

Slide generation isn’t quite there yet. After a submission, we usually put together a briefing deck for internal stakeholders, and for now that’s still a manual task. Given how much structured content already exists inside Steerlab by that point, an export-to-slides feature would feel like a natural and genuinely useful addition. "Steerlab’s Excel Support Handled Our Messy Files Flawlessly"
5/5
What do you like best about Steerlab?

Excel support was genuinely the deciding factor for us. We had around 500 question files with the kind of formatting that makes most tools give up merged cells, nested tabs, and inconsistent structures. Every other platform we tested either choked on them or mangled the output. Steerlab handled them without complaint and came out the other side with clean results. That alone justified the switch for us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Steerlab?

Slack’s approval workflow exists, but right now it feels fairly surface-level. For simple, straightforward sign-offs it gets the job done, but anything with more nuance still ends up pulling me back into the main app. Adding more depth here would make a real difference and meaningfully cut down on the context switching. "A Practical AI Tool for Proposal Teams"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Steerlab?

Steerlab helps us keep our proposal work organized and moving quickly. The AI support is genuinely helpful for drafting responses, surfacing relevant past content, and keeping the language more consistent across different bids. Overall, it has made collaboration easier and cut down on a lot of repetitive manual work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Steerlab?

Some advanced options could be easier to navigate, especially when working under tight deadlines. A few more integration choices and better reporting would make it even stronger for larger proposal teams. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A Self-Maintaining Content Library That Keeps Answers Getting Better"
5/5
What do you like best about Steerlab?

Every approved answer feeds straight back into the content library automatically, and anything that’s gone stale gets flagged before it turns into a problem. Since we started, I haven’t had to touch the library manually even once, and yet the quality of the answers has only improved over time. It basically maintains itself, which might sound simple, but it’s genuinely rare. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Steerlab?

A handful of very specific word-formatting edge cases still need a light touch after export. It’s minor and doesn’t come up often, but it’s worth knowing. The latest release is apparently meant to address this, although I haven’t had the chance to verify it firsthand yet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Fast setup zero friction"
5/5
What do you like best about Steerlab?

Honestly, I went in with low expectations, because day-one new tools rarely hit the ground running. But by mid-morning we had our data sources connected, and before the afternoon was out we already had a real, working draft in front of us. There was no IT involvement, no phased setup, and no sitting around waiting for access to be provisioned. That kind of immediacy matters more than people give it credit for. When active bids are on the line, every day spent onboarding is a day your competitors aren’t standing still. Steerlab just removes that gap completely. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Steerlab?

The Slack alerts are timely and genuinely useful, but the handoff still means I have to jump back into the main app to finish an approval. It’s a small point of friction in what is otherwise a smooth, fluid process, and being able to close that loop entirely within Slack would be a truly helpful upgrade. "Transparent AI is the only kind worth using"
5/5
What do you like best about Steerlab?

Every suggested answer traces back to a specific paragraph in the source document not just a vague reference, the exact passage. And when it can't find a strong match, it tells you that too. That kind of honesty is rare in AI tooling, and it's precisely why we feel confident using it for regulated submissions where every answer has to be defensible. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Steerlab?

The Chrome extension doesn't yet cover a couple of the smaller procurement platforms we occasionally work with. Coverage is solid overall - this is a minor gap, not a dealbreaker, but it's worth knowing going in. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
