Solidus is a highly capable e-commerce platform that is quickly diverging from its legacy as an fork of the Spree project. Spree was left to dwindle to nothing. This stems from an acquisition by First Data. There is a very lively attempt to continue with the Spree codebase, but the level of engineering and the community is superior in favor of Solidus. It's professionally-developed by e-commerce experts and hundreds of contributors.

Extensibility, code integrity and security are the main goals of the project.
