"Beautiful Visual Stories Made Easy with Shorthand and WordPress Integration"
4/5
What do you like best about Shorthand?

Shorthand has been instrumental in helping us create some truly beautiful visual stories.

Our designers have been able to work easily with the drag-and-drop interface, and the overall visual flow always looks great. We’ve also been able to integrate the stories into our WordPress site, which has been really useful.

Olivia at Shorthand has been especially helpful in making sure we get the most out of our subscription, and James has supported us through all of our coding challenges.

Overall, the stories look beautiful and now load perfectly on our WordPress. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Shorthand?

Some of our designers have struggled with the platform - I believe it's a different way of how they've worked previously when it comes to designing website pages.

It also took us some time (a few months) and also some help from our own developer to get it integrated onto WordPress. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Honestly, a joy to use for visual pitch decks"
5/5
What do you like best about Shorthand?

What I love about Shorthand is how easily it lets us create stunning, interactive 'scrollytelling' experiences. The visual output looks incredibly professional and high-end, all without needing to write a single line of code. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Shorthand?

While I love the platform, I wish it offered a wider selection of built-in fonts and standard color palettes to choose from right out of the box. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Brilliant Designs That Make Analytics Reports Shine"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Shorthand?

My work is primarily focused on analytics, so I found Shorthand really helpful for building reports for our mini site. The designs we’ve been able to publish through Shorthand are brilliant, and we’re genuinely very happy with the results. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Shorthand?

I’m afraid I don’t use the builder in Shorthand specifically, so I don’t think I’m best placed to go into detail about it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Transforms Research with Interactive Storytelling"
5/5
What do you like best about Shorthand?

I find Shorthand very easy, accessible, and creative. It's interesting how it allows me to add amazing features to my stories, transforming what could have been just a PDF file with text into an amazing story with little effort. I love how Shorthand makes my stories more interactive and immersive. It elevates the whole experience by bringing together text, video, and audio to tell an important story. I think it cuts a lot of work and has definitely made things efficient in our team. The initial setup was very easy and accessible as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Shorthand?

One of the biggest issues is that it's expensive for startups or small institutions like us. While big institutions are using it and it's incredible, there should be a way for smaller institutions to integrate it into our website without paying a lot of money. "Outstanding Experience from Start to Finish"
5/5
What do you like best about Shorthand?

What I like most about Shorthand is how it allows complex stories and data to be presented in a clear, visually engaging, and narrative-driven way without requiring technical or coding skills. It helps turn reports, research, and implementation insights into immersive storytelling that feels accessible to a broad audience, including non-technical readers, funders, and policymakers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Shorthand?

One limitation is the learning curve in fully optimizing layouts and interactive elements, especially when trying to balance aesthetics with dense content. Additionally, collaboration features and version control could be more intuitive when working with multiple contributors, particularly in fast-paced or multi-stakeholder projects. "Revolutionized Our Client Presentations"
5/5
What do you like best about Shorthand?

I love how Shorthand allows me to create comprehensive and modern presentations with ease, avoiding the old-school feel of PowerPoint. The availability of many templates saves me time because I don't have to start from scratch. It efficiently suggests placements for videos, images, and text without me having to overthink. Additionally, presentations created with Shorthand look amazing and can be set up in seconds, making the process stress-free. I appreciate the platform's modern and appealing design, which enhances viewer engagement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Shorthand?

I found the initial setup of Shorthand to be quite confusing because it was very different from what I was used to with Adobe Spark. It took some trial and error to get used to it. Additionally, I am facing challenges with social media integration, specifically in the toolbar section. The current setup does not easily allow for the addition of multiple social media platforms like Pinterest and LinkedIn. I also find it difficult to figure out how to share media effectively. Having an easy drag-and-drop functionality for these social media tools would be beneficial. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"User-Friendly Interface with Flexible Dynamic Story Modules"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Shorthand?

I like how user-friendly the interface is, and I also appreciate being able to add many dynamic modules to stories. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Shorthand?

It still needs some improvement to properly support right-to-left languages, such as Arabic. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Highly Recommended for Educational Use, Easy Setup"
5/5
What do you like best about Shorthand?

I really appreciate how Shorthand provides a lower barrier to entry for students to create engaging content. Its easy setup process has been invaluable as I could effortlessly set up teams and spaces, get students added, and have them using it in no time. This feature is particularly beneficial when managing users, as it allows me to handle students and faculty separately, which is very useful in an educational setting. Shorthand's ability to support faculty in creating research presentations alongside their classroom instruction is something I've found incredibly beneficial. Additionally, I initially discovered Shorthand through an impressively constructed article, which piqued my interest enough to explore its capabilities for educational purposes. Knowing that both faculty and students are pleased with the platform's capabilities is reassuring and enough to make me consider continued use in the future. I'm also highly likely to recommend Shorthand to others, as evidenced by my high recommendation score. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Shorthand?

I think it would be beneficial to have some form of technical support alongside the educational plans. While I appreciate that the educational plan is free as long as it's used for educational purposes, having access to technical support would be reassuring. It would be helpful to have someone to turn to in case any issues arise. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Interactive Storytelling at its Best"
5/5
What do you like best about Shorthand?

I find Shorthand to be highly interactive, which immediately sold me on its great capability as a tool. The setup process was quite easy, with the most significant aspect being able to learn and utilize the various options to craft stories exactly as I like them. What stands out for me is how it solves the problem of creating projects or stories that capture attention, thanks to its compelling layout. This obviates the need for printed media kits, allowing audiences to access them via links and still experience a strong 'wow' factor. Additionally, I thoroughly appreciate the ability to design each story independently, giving them distinct looks that engage the reader and keep the content fresh and exciting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Shorthand?

I found converting from a PDF to be more complicated than expected. Additionally, being a startup, I'm very price sensitive and would appreciate a more favorable pricing option. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Versatile and Supportive, But Image Formatting Needs Improvement"
5/5
What do you like best about Shorthand?

Its versatile approach to capturing different elements of news and or information in a very easy structured way. I also like the support system if i need help i know i can rely on support to get back to me fast which helps with shorthand because if youre using it for the first time it can be tricky Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Shorthand?

When you upload a picture and look at the preview settings vs edit settings it pushes everything out of format. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
