## Security Blue Team Reviews
 ### 1. Well-Structured, Lab-Focused Course with Solid Content

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alessandro P. | Specialist cybersecurity, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Security Blue Team?**

The exam and the course are structured well, with plenty of labs and solid content. Unfortunately, the material provided on its own isn’t enough to feel fully prepared for the exam. A simulation of the real exam as the final lab would have been interesting and very helpful. Compared to the BTL1, this course has the same quality—maybe even higher because of the lab-focused approach—but it’s also about 10 times harder.

**What do you dislike about Security Blue Team?**

Nothing really comes to mind. Even the price feels fair, since it gives you a second retake for free.

**What problems is Security Blue Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have a master’s degree in cybersecurity, and I only took one course in Software Security. Because of that, my hands-on exposure to these topics, including malware analysis, was limited to a single 6 CFU exam (University Credits, equal to 150 hours of study). This exam allowed me to expand both my theoretical and practical knowledge, and it will help me provide better support and understanding of SOC environments and the day-to-day battle.

**Official Response from Joanne Morley:**

> We're glad to hear that you found our course well-structured and lab-focused. We appreciate your feedback about the exam preparation. We appreciate you taking the time to write this review and that we've been able to support you on your cybersecurity career.

 ### 2. Practical, Real-World SOC Training That Builds Strong Operational Skills

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Security Blue Team?**

What I find most helpful about Security Blue Team, especially through the CSOM course, is the practical and operational focus on real-world security operations and monitoring activities. The course helps build a strong understanding of how SOC environments function and how analysts investigate, detect, and respond to security events in practice.

**What do you dislike about Security Blue Team?**

One downside of Security Blue Team, particularly in the CSOM course, is the limited amount of video-based content. While the written materials are detailed and informative, relying heavily on text can sometimes make the learning process slower and less engaging.

Some topics would be easier to understand through more video demonstrations, walkthroughs, and instructor-led explanations, especially for practical SOC activities, investigations, and SIEM workflows. Reading large amounts of text for technical subjects is not always the most effective learning method for every student and can require significantly more time to absorb and retain information.

Adding more video lessons, practical demonstrations, and visual explanations would improve the overall learning experience and make complex concepts easier to understand and follow.

**What problems is Security Blue Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Security Blue Team helps address the gap between theoretical cybersecurity education and the practical skills required in real-world security operations environments. Many cybersecurity courses focus heavily on concepts and terminology, while Security Blue Team provides hands-on training that reflects actual SOC and incident response activities.

**Official Response from Joanne Morley:**

> We're glad to hear that you found CSOM hands-on and operationally focused and really helpful in building building strong SOC leadership skills that reflect reality and the way SOCs operation. We also appreciate your feedback about having more video content to support understanding more complex subjects.

 ### 3. Engaging Learning but Limited Cybersecurity Scope

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gin L. | Education Officer

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Security Blue Team?**

I find Security Blue Team helpful for gaining practical experience with tools like Splunk and Autopsy, and for learning digital forensic concepts. The course offers a systematic way to learn about the blue team concept. The exam itself is interesting because it feels like a reward scenario, where you're given scenarios and need to conduct investigations, making the process of solving problems engaging.

**What do you dislike about Security Blue Team?**

I feel like I still don't have the full picture of cyber defense security with Security Blue Team. Many related jobs require other skills not included in Blue Team Level One. This course seems more suited for those interested in digital forensics and SOC analysis, rather than for someone like me who wants to become a security engineer. It doesn't cover everything I should know to be a security engineer.

**What problems is Security Blue Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I gained practical experience using tools like Splunk and Autopsy and learning in a systematic way about blue team concepts.

**Official Response from Joanne Morley:**

> Thank you for sharing your feedback on Security Blue Team. It's great you found the course engaging and valuable for gaining practical experience with tools like Splunk and Autopsy. We appreciate your insights on the scope of cybersecurity covered in BTL1, which does have a more junior Blue Team focus rather than broader security engineering. Some of our other certifications cover this in more depth.

 ### 4. Great Cybersecurity Training with an Accessible Technical Level

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Security Blue Team?**

I enjoyed the technical level when teaching about cyber security; it kept things at a fair level that anyone could start with. Overall, it was easy to use and straightforward to navigate.

**What do you dislike about Security Blue Team?**

Overall, I didn’t have any major dislikes, other than the technical labs not accounting for different keyboard layouts. I really wish there were a way to set the keyboard language before starting the labs. In my case, I use Nordic ISO, which kind of clashes with ANSI and made things awkward overall. On the support side, I think I created one issue but never heard back. That said, the form to reach out to you had issues too.

**What problems is Security Blue Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Security Blue team provides a way for me to prove my skill and knowledge, but also refine and learn me new things and expose me to tools that I have never used before.

**Official Response from Joanne Morley:**

> Thank you for your positive feedback about the technical level of our cybersecurity training and the ease of navigation and for your feedback about your keyboard issues, we'll ensure this is forwarded to our content and training teams for them to review.

I really like that the content of Security Blue Team is very well written and helpful in real-world scenarios. It feels like they put a lot of effort into it, making me believe that the course is designed to genuinely help people improve and develop their skills. The initial setup was easy, which was a plus for me.

**What do you dislike about Security Blue Team?**

The only thing is that some tasks are taken down. Like there was a task, and we had to go to a link to solve it, but that link was taken down.

**What problems is Security Blue Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Security Blue Team to learn and improve my skills by exploring new areas with real hands-on experience. The content is well-written and helpful in real-world scenarios, showing they put a lot of effort into it.

I really liked the labs part in Security Blue Team where I could use the information and wisdom from the topics in practice. It felt like I was working on real problems, and it was a good experience. The initial setup of Security Blue Team was great.

**What do you dislike about Security Blue Team?**

For me personally, it was a lot of reading, which was sometimes tiring. I don't really know, maybe using more activity from the learner to work with some puzzles or quizzes.

**What problems is Security Blue Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Security Blue Team to improve my cybersecurity skills, making me better at my job. The labs allow me to apply knowledge in practice, feeling like I'm working on real problems and gaining good experience.

**Official Response from Joanne Morley:**

**What do you like best about Security Blue Team?**

It focuses mainly on the defensive security side and SOC work, which I think is absolutely fantastic.

**What do you dislike about Security Blue Team?**

There’s mostly written content to read, with very little video content. Video content would make things much easier for consumers, since it can be more concise and easier to understand.

**What problems is Security Blue Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Huge, detailed labs and learning with a defence-based focus. The labs mainly include scenarios, which is the best part because it makes the experience feel realistic and as close to real-world as possible.

**Official Response from Joanne Morley:**

> Thank you for taking the time to review Security Blue Team and for your positive feedback on our realistic lab scenarios and that they have felt realistic and close to real-world scenarios.

The SBT team provides industry relevant training & certifications as well as online labs while also giving the community a place to come together, collaborate and grow.

**What do you dislike about Security Blue Team?**

We don't have any concerns with regards to quality of the service nor the training offerred. We do look forward to the SBT training & certifications becoming more popular and reaching a broader international audience.

**What problems is Security Blue Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All of our analysts perform the Junior Path training as BTL1 certifications at a minimum. We find the certification training to be comprehensive but not overwhelming and to prepare the analysts well for their responsibilities while also providing guidance on how to expand on their knowledge after the certification.

Our interactions with the SBT team have been friendly, helpful and they take our requests and recommendations seriously. We enjoy having them as a training partner and will continue to leverage their services for years to come.

 ### 11. Engaging Training with Exceptional Humor

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Corban S.

**Reviewed Date:** January 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Security Blue Team?**

I like the training and questions in the exams offered by Security Blue Team, along with their humor and down-to-earth understanding of who they are training and testing. It feels unmatched, and it was a genuine joy and pleasure to read a lot of the material and discover new things during the exam. They know who they are teaching—geeks who want to learn more about this world—and they found the humor to do that, with oddball references in the material to straight-up call-outs of things other people do that don't work. The initial setup was really easy, the UX took just a little to get used to but was still easy.

**What do you dislike about Security Blue Team?**

Not much, other than the automatic scoring of my exam didn't work and missed several things I worked on, almost failing me until manual review took over.

**What problems is Security Blue Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Security Blue Team to measure my knowledge in operational security and skills. Its engaging approach to training, with humor and relatable content, effectively keeps me interested and enhances my learning experience.

**Official Response from Joanne Morley:**

> Thank you for your feedback on your experience with Security Blue Team , we're glad you enjoyed the training and down-to-earth approach in the material. Thanks for the info on the exam scoring and glad you found some humor in our training to keep you engaged.

 ### 12. Hands-On Training with Real-World Tools

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Simeon B. | English Teacher

**Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Security Blue Team?**

I did my Blue Team Level 1 certificate with Security Blue Team and I really like the hands-on practical aspect of their training, with lots of labs to practice what I've learned. The lessons are written in a conversational tone, so it doesn't feel like I'm reading technical documentation; it's more like someone is explaining it to me. The platform also gave me hands-on experience with many cybersecurity tools that I could mention in my CV and in cybersecurity job interviews. Plus, the initial setup was easy.

**What do you dislike about Security Blue Team?**

I felt like a couple of the exam questions were a little ambiguous. For example, one question asked for the original name of a malicious file, but I wasn't sure if it meant the name on the system or the name on VirusTotal.

**What problems is Security Blue Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Security Blue Team gave me hands-on experience with cyber security tools to boost my CV and interview skills.

**Official Response from Joanne Morley:**

> We're glad to hear that you enjoyed the hands-on practical aspect of our training and it's great you found the lessons engaging, thank you for taking the time to write the feedback and for the info about the exam questions.

 ### 13. Realistic SOC Experience with Security Blue Team

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jean-Jacques D.

**Reviewed Date:** January 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Security Blue Team?**

I mainly use Security Blue Team to develop my skills in defensive cybersecurity, particularly in incident analysis, threat detection, and incident response. The platform has allowed me to acquire a practical and realistic approach to the work of a Blue Teamer. I appreciate the clear structure of the modules, the consistency between the training and the exam, as well as the quality of the scenarios, which reflect the work of a real Blue Teamer in a SOC environment. I also like the logic of the investigations and the clear instructions with an intuitive interface.

**What do you dislike about Security Blue Team?**

the modules could be further developed with more examples and labs. Enrich the labs further, with more varied scenarios and more realistic case studies. Add more detailed feedback after the labs.

**What problems is Security Blue Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Security Blue Team to fill the gap in defensive cybersecurity practice, with realistic scenarios on incident analysis and SOC investigations.

**Official Response from Joanne Morley:**

> We're glad to hear that you find our platform helpful for developing your skills in defensive cybersecurity. We appreciate your feedback on the modules for future versions of the course and it's great you felt our content reflected the work of a real blue teamer in a SOC environment.

 ### 14. Clear Course Structure Makes Learning Easy at Any Level

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Government Administration | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Security Blue Team?**

The learning is good for whichever part of your journey you're at. There were parts that I knew already very well, I was able to move on past these to other parts I was weaker on because the course structure is clear.

**What do you dislike about Security Blue Team?**

The examination on the practical has wording that is a bit off, or potentially lacking a bit of context. I think is probably more due to over simplification of the language for non-native speakers. It could be a skill issue with me trying to read at speed.

**What problems is Security Blue Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There are too many paper qualified security teams in the world, Security Blue Team is bringing in technically capable managers and analysts, something that is sorely missing... people who can get a job done.

**Official Response from Joanne Morley:**

> We're glad to hear that you found our course structure helpful and adaptable to your learning needs. We appreciate your feedback on the examination wording and thank you for recognising how our certification is helping build technically capable analysts with real world skills.

 ### 15. Great Practical Content, But the Show must Go On ... ;)

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Syed Muhammad Sajjad H. | Assistant Director, Financial Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2026

**What do you like best about Security Blue Team?**

Their content and exams are entirely practical, focusing on meaningful, hands-on material that truly makes an impact on student learning. That's the objective of the learning after all.

**What do you dislike about Security Blue Team?**

One thing I find frustrating is that their content expires once you clear the exam. Sometimes, you might want to revisit the material to review or refresh your understanding of certain concepts, but that's not possible after the exam.

**What problems is Security Blue Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is providing top-notch learning content for Defensive Security with practical labs for it. It has built quite majestic reputation in the market over this neech, I believe.

**Official Response from Joanne Morley:**

> Thank you for your feedback and we're glad you found the practical and hands-on approach to learning helpful and that the labs were practical and reflected real life scenarios.

 ### 16. Hands-On Labs Make Learning Click

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan A. | "Knows where things are", Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Security Blue Team?**

Being given hands on labs to experience the information first hand

**What do you dislike about Security Blue Team?**

The time limit on the licensing for the training should be extended or be able to moved to another engineer if needed

**What problems is Security Blue Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hands on knowledge and training

**Official Response from Joanne Morley:**

> We're glad to hear that you enjoy the hands-on labs sand thanks for the feed back on licensing too.

 ### 17. One of the Best Hands-On Blue Team Certifications for Aspiring and Current SOC Analysts

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael F. | L2 SOC Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Security Blue Team?**

The content is well-structured and focuses on practical, real-world scenarios that SOC analysts deal with daily. It teaches not just the technical steps, but also the thought process behind analyzing threats, investigating incidents, and responding effectively. The way it breaks down use cases, detection logic, and triage techniques helps build muscle memory for when you're under pressure.

In day-to-day operations, this training has helped me move faster and with more confidence when dealing with alerts. It improves my ability to prioritize threats, ask the right questions, and make decisions backed by a clear understanding of attacker behavior. It’s not just theory — it translates directly into better performance during investigations and incident handling.

**What do you dislike about Security Blue Team?**

Honestly, I didn’t run into any major issues. The only downside was that the shipping time for my hardcopy was pushed to the maximum, and I had to reach out to customer support to get it delivered. It wasn’t a big problem, but it did cause a small delay.

Having succesfully completed the BTL2 Certification now, there is only one thing I have to add: As a Newcomer to forensics, and the importance of the Report in the Exam I wished for an more in-detail report section or maybe a written example/lab to fortify the knowledge.

**What problems is Security Blue Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In times of skilled labor shortages, it's crucial to have strong, hands-on certifications that help newcomers and junior analysts gain a foothold in cybersecurity. Security Blue Team addresses this by offering practical, real-world training that not only builds essential IT knowledge but also prepares you for what you actually face in a SOC environment. It bridges the gap for those entering from non-traditional backgrounds and gives them the confidence and skills needed to grow in the field.

**Official Response from Joanne Morley:**

> Thanks for the thoughtful review. It is great to hear the training has helped build confidence and speed during investigations, and that the practical focus is translating into real impact in your day-to-day work. Appreciate the note on the hardcopy delay. We have been aware of this and are working hard to make sure those waiting receive their copies as quickly as possible. Glad it did not take away from the overall experience.

 ### 18. Comprehensive Learning with Free Labs, Easy Setup

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Omr L.

**Reviewed Date:** December 03, 2025

**What do you like best about Security Blue Team?**

I really appreciate the free labs offered by Security Blue Team. As a student, these labs are incredibly valuable to me, providing essential resources that I otherwise couldn't afford. This accessibility allows me to deepen my understanding of the Security Operation Center for blue teams without financial strain. I also found the initial setup process to be super easy, which is a significant plus. The inclusion of multiple authentication factors not only enhanced the security of the platform but also gave me confidence in its protection of my efforts and data. Overall, these aspects contribute significantly to my positive experience with Security Blue Team.

**What do you dislike about Security Blue Team?**

I find the pricing to be potentially problematic. There's a concern that the cost might be high, and as a student, affording it could be challenging.

**What problems is Security Blue Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Security Blue Team to address fundamental problems in my security operations knowledge, and the free labs are valuable for my studies as a student who can't afford such resources otherwise.

**Official Response from Joanne Morley:**

> Thank you Omr, it's great that you've found our free labs valuable and that the setup process was easy for you. We appreciate your feedback and are committed to making our platform accessible to all aspiring security professionals.

 ### 19. Good introduction to Blue Team thinking

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hugo R. | Cyber Security Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 03, 2025

**What do you like best about Security Blue Team?**

The content is beginner friendly and well structured which really helped me get oriented as someone coming into Blue Team work without a formal background in Cybersecurity. The explanations are clear and the labs give a basic hands on feel that keeps you engaged. I also like the community aspect because seeing other learners ask questions and share experiences makes the whole process less overwhelming.

**What do you dislike about Security Blue Team?**

Regarding BTJA, the depth is quite limited. It gives a good overview and introduces important concepts but it barely scratches the surface of real SOC work. If you already have some experience or if you want very technical and detailed training you will need to combine this with other resources. Some labs could go a bit further and include more realistic scenarios.

**What problems is Security Blue Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helped me understand core defensive security concepts and standard terminology so I could have a clearer idea of what a Blue Team role looks like. It gave me a foundation to continue studying other tools and platforms without feeling lost. It also helped me decide what areas of cyber security I want to focus on and gave me more confidence to explore SOC training at a deeper level.

**Official Response from Joanne Morley:**

> Thanks for the review Hugo and it's great to hear that our training helped you understand core defensive security concepts and terminology, and gave you the confidence to explore deeper levels of SOC training. We're here to support you on your cybersecurity journey.

**What do you like best about Security Blue Team?**

In the Security Blue Team, I love the exercises that go beyond multiple-choice questions and really challenge us to get hands-on. It's very interesting to have to boot VMs and tinker with things in practice, as cybersecurity has a very important practical component that many courses end up neglecting. It's excellent that the Security Blue Team makes us work directly with the tools.

**What do you dislike about Security Blue Team?**

Nothing to point out.

**What problems is Security Blue Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can obtain information and knowledge with succinct and practical explanations. The Security Blue Team has an important practical component, allowing direct interaction with the tools, which is excellent.

**Official Response from Joanne Morley:**

> We're glad to hear that you enjoy the hands-on exercises and practical approach that doesn't just rely on multiple choice answers. We are focused on delivering certifications that give learners the ability to experience operational tools and how things work in SOCs.

**Reviewed by:** حسان .

**Reviewed Date:** February 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Security Blue Team?**

I love how Security Blue Team has taught me to think like an analyst, learning OSINT skills, dark web operations, and threat hunting. The site itself is modern and nicely done. Their courses are pretty good, even the free ones that I tried were great. I like that they include practical tests with each course, which makes the experience engaging and not just boring theory. Also, the setup was easy.

**What do you dislike about Security Blue Team?**

Some course material is outdated. They need to check and update the resources on the courses.

**What problems is Security Blue Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Security Blue Team taught me to think as an analyst using skills like OSINT and threat hunting. The courses include practical tests, making learning engaging.

**Official Response from Joanne Morley:**

> Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback and we're glad to hear that you found our courses engaging and practical and it has helped you to think like an analysts with plenty of practical tests that reflect operational scenarios.

 ### 26. Great for Cybersecurity Learning with Practical Labs

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** JONATHAN H.

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2026

**What do you like best about Security Blue Team?**

I really like the labs in Security Blue Team because they give me hands-on experience on the topics I read about. The phishing labs, for example, helped me understand how to investigate a phishing topic. The other labs are very useful as well.

**What do you dislike about Security Blue Team?**

There were times when the labs were not available, or there were some issues with the labs. This was frustrating. Also, when I changed my mobile device, it was quite a hassle and the platform was unavailable, which took several days to resolve.

**What problems is Security Blue Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Security Blue Team to learn about cybersecurity threats. It helped me get an overall picture of the cybersecurity area as a beginner.

**Official Response from Joanne Morley:**

> We're glad to hear that you are enjoying the practical labs and finding them useful for learning cybersecurity concepts. Thanks for the feedback about the labs and apologies you had some challenges getting back on the platform.

 ### 27. Thorough, impactful, and up to date

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mohit H. | IT Security Associate, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Security Blue Team?**

I did the Blue Team Level 1 certification by Security Blue Team. I loved how hands-on the whole experience was, getting to explore scenarios that are close to real life security scenarios was a great help and the hands-on experience with the tools helped me be confident in my skills. Easily one of the best cyber security certifications out there. It's worth the cost imo.

**What do you dislike about Security Blue Team?**

I do feel there could have been a bit more labs to explore the tools a little bit more in depth but what it has was already sufficient. This would just be a bonus.

**What problems is Security Blue Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's creating impactful certifications in the cyber security industry. A lot of the certifications are very theoretical and with little to no exposure to the tools that are crucial in the field. Also the blue team labs online platforms is one of the best and a lot of the material is free and it offers more lab hours compared to other platforms.

**Official Response from Joanne Morley:**

> Thank you for your feedback Mohit, we appreciate your suggestion for more in-depth labs, and are glad you found our certification are more hands on and less theory with the free access to the labs to test your skills.

 ### 28. BTL1 is a worhtwhile investment in your learning and future

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Collin L. | Cybersecurity Content Creator | Technical Writer | Lab Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 20, 2025

**What do you like best about Security Blue Team?**

The overall experience I had with Security Blue Team was an excellent one. They offer a practical, hands-on system of training and certification that has helped me immensely in my learning and application of cybersecurity. The greatest detail that I liked about their organization is that they provide you ample resources internally and externally to reach your goals. It's on you to do the work, but they have an interactive learning system and they provide you with access to an active community you can reach out to for guidance and support.

**What do you dislike about Security Blue Team?**

The only downside that I can see is that the cost of the certifications may be prohibitive for some. That being said, you get what you pay for in this industry. It's priced fairly for the immense work they have put into designing the course material, providing interactive browser-accessed labs and facilitating a worthwhile stress-test of your capabilities learned in their training.

**What problems is Security Blue Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Security Blue Team is providing an ecosystem where you can combine both theory and practical application directly within their products that negates the need to self-direct all of your learning. The barrier to entry is low, and the fact that you don't have to set-up a home lab to actually learn and practice was a big benefit when I was first approaching this industry. Beyond the key learning objectives, a great side effect the training is that I gained the confidence to really step into a new state of confidence to eventually try new tools I was unfamiliar with in my own home lab set-up.

**Official Response from Joanne Morley:**

> Thanks for your review Collin and it's great to hear Security Blue Team has helped you gain confidence in your cybersecurity skills. We work hard to provide students with practical and accessible ways to learn, Appreciate the feedback about cost and that it's fairly priced for the quality and depth of content.

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Security Blue Team?**

Easy access to the platform, the completeness of the courses, and the well-defined learning paths are what I value most. I also appreciate the balanced pricing across the different course levels.

**What do you dislike about Security Blue Team?**

I’ve had difficulties accessing the exams. Also, the first level (BTL1) is too easy.

**What problems is Security Blue Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It provides essential training and education for the operators in my organization.

**Official Response from Joanne Morley:**

> We're pleased to hear that you find our platform easy to access and our courses comprehensive. BTL1 is a junior certification and so this is reflected in the content. If we can help with any problems accessing the exams please reach out to our customer support team.

 ### 30. Excellent for Security Study, Despite Access Failures

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eduardo M. | Security Operations Center Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Security Blue Team?**

I use Security Blue Team to study, and it helped me understand more about malware analysis, security incidents, and log analysis in a SIEM. I really like the practical component, which is extremely good. Additionally, the available content is something I particularly appreciate. The initial setup was easy and, despite some issues, like access to the machines sometimes failing, I would give a score of 10 in recommending the product, because if I could, I would even give it 20.

**What do you dislike about Security Blue Team?**

Access to the machines often fails.

**What problems is Security Blue Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helped me better understand malware analysis, security incidents, and log analysis in a SIEM.

**Official Response from Joanne Morley:**

> Thank you for your review, it's good to hear it has helped you better understand malware analysis, security incidents, and log analysis in a SIEM.

 ### 31. Top Defensive Cybersecurity Platform, Though Some Content Feels Outdated

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Security Blue Team?**

When I began my journey into the Blue Team field, Security Blue Team was among the few platforms offering defensive cybersecurity content. Although the landscape has evolved since then, I still regard it as one of the best. Their certifications are widely recognized, and I have found myself interested in all the other courses they offer. In my opinion, it remains one of the top platforms focused on defensive cybersecurity.

**What do you dislike about Security Blue Team?**

One of the downsides is that their old content is kind of outdated. BTJA was a little behind even when I did it like a year or two ago. It was still an amazing introduction, and I loved the structure they had with the Capstone Project. Some units were really challenging.
The other downside, which is more of a disadvantage for me, is that as it's a UK certification, it becomes significantly more expensive in USD. Their student discount helps a little, but the Black Friday discount wasn't that significant, and it didn't accumulate with the student discount. So, it's a little hard to buy for college students.

**What problems is Security Blue Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They help a lot in giving a platform where people can learn and specialise in defensive cybersecurity. I think their first certification BTL1 it's a good start, and it's the only platform I know that has advanced defensive certifications like BTL2 or CSOM.

**Official Response from Joanne Morley:**

> Thank you for sharing your experience with Security Blue Team. It's great to hear you've found our platform valuable for defensive cybersecurity training and certification. We are continuously working to update our content to ensure it remains relevant and engaging and we strive to keep our BTL1 pricing affordable .

 ### 32. Easy to get done in order to get away from managerial pressure

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexander R. | Security Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Security Blue Team?**

I like that the final test with Security Blue Team was easy to get done and out of the way. The labs are easy to run and pretty good I guess. Nothing bad about any of it itself.

**What do you dislike about Security Blue Team?**

I just despise the certification industry in general.

**What problems is Security Blue Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Security Blue Team demonstrates my base understanding of some common cyber security investigation tools by providing a certificate upon task completion with them.

**Official Response from Joanne Morley:**

> Thanks for the review and that you found the labs easy to run, and it gave you the certification you required.

 ### 33. Hands-On Certification with Real-World Application

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Illia G.

**Reviewed Date:** October 20, 2025

**What do you like best about Security Blue Team?**

I genuinely appreciate the Security Blue Team for its value per dollar, coupled with the comprehensive content it offers. I particularly enjoy the hands-on experience that is very close to real-world cybersecurity incident response, which is crucial for someone in a SOC analyst role like myself. This extensive training prepares me to effectively defend networks and protect assets, enhancing my practical skills drastically. I find the setup process particularly straightforward, and the content is easy to navigate, providing me with a smooth learning curve. This seamless experience boosts my confidence in my ability to respond to cybersecurity challenges effectively. . The in-depth study on various domains including phishing, threat analysis, and digital forensics, tied with a unique 24-hour instance response exam, underscores the authenticity and seriousness of the training. Additionally, the reasonable pricing structure and the proposition offered by Security Blue Team make it a commendable choice that I would not hesitate to repurchase. My overall satisfaction with the program is reflected in my high likelihood of recommending it to others, as it is definitely a 10 on my recommendation scale.

**What do you dislike about Security Blue Team?**

I found some questions in the exam to be challenging at first, and I wasn't sure if I knew them correctly. This aspect made the initial experience slightly difficult.

**What problems is Security Blue Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The product provides hands-on training to prepare me for cybersecurity roles, allowing me to effectively defend networks as a SOC analyst.

**Official Response from Joanne Morley:**

> Hi Illia, thanks for taking the time to review your certification. Glad to hear that you have found our content comprehensive and that is closely reflects real-world cybersecurity challenges. The exam is rigorous, so although the questions may seem challenging they are designed to give you a hands on experience and it's great that you would be happy to recommend to others who want to develop their cybersecurity skills.

 ### 34. Security Blue Team LEvel 1 (BLT1)

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Muhammad Waleed C. | IT Analyst – Systems & Security, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2025

**What do you like best about Security Blue Team?**

The content of this cert is incredible not just theory, but hands-on stuff that actually sticks. It's great for someone trying to really understand cybersecurity and build a solid foundation for their career, this course will seriously get you there. I’ve learned so much in such a practical way, it’s insane. Couldn’t recommend it more. Also, the team behind it is Absolutely amazing. They’re super supportive and real.

**What do you dislike about Security Blue Team?**

There is a lot of text in the content. I definitely preferred and found it easier to comprehend the content where we had it explained in videos

**What problems is Security Blue Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's solving the gaps in practical cybersecurity knowledge, especially for entry-level folks. Most resources either throw you theory or overwhelm you with advanced stuff. BLT1 gives you hands-on, real-world exercises that actually teach you how to detect, analyze, and respond to security events.

**Official Response from Joanne Morley:**

> Thank you Muhammad for your kind words about our team and the practical nature of our content and that it's not just theory. We appreciate your feedback about the amount of text and your idea about videos.

 ### 35. Practical and Valuable Blue Team Certifications

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Austin M. | Cybersecurity Engineer, Airlines/Aviation, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Security Blue Team?**

Security Blue Team does a great job of structuring the content. The content is chronological and uses practical labs to practice the concepts learned during lecture. The practical exams are great as completing a full incident investigation from Initial Access to Data Exfiltration is way more fun and satisfying than passing knowledge-based certificates!

**What do you dislike about Security Blue Team?**

At times, some of the labs could be a bit slow. However, this is somewhat expected with the low price point of BTL1 certificates. The exams have more resources allocated, allowing the trainee to pivot through the scenarios/investigations in an efficient way. Security Blue Team also has a lot of reading which is highly dependent on the user's learning style. Personally, I prefer video-based learning but the labs and occasional videos kept me going throughout this training!

**What problems is Security Blue Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Security Blue Team is providing practical, hands-on experience for entry-level to intermediate-level individuals. Passing knowledge-based certificates may land an interview, but these practical Blue Team certificates allow you to articulate on actual hands-on investigations, not knowing concepts at a high-level.

**Official Response from Joshua Beaman:**

> Hi Austin, many thanks for your review! Glad to hear you enjoyed the training and our practical assessment. I've noted your feedback about the delivery style (more videos and labs) and will pass this to the relevant teams for review, as we want to provide the best learning experience for everyone. Thanks again!

 ### 36. Really positive experience!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Karel V. | Security Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Security Blue Team?**

Easy to use, ready to use platform and labs, no need to configure any VPN etc. Everything happens in the single platform, from learning to certification. No need to book a date for exam, you just start it from the learning portal. Great visibility given to team leaders to be able to check progress. Great help from the BTL team, letting you know that there are some ppl going to have the training/exam voucher expired, so you can motivate the team.

**What do you dislike about Security Blue Team?**

Got the feedback that some tools in the BTL1 cert exam are loading for minutes - like 10-15 mins. It's causing extra stress to the person going through the certification. On the other hand, it's a good simulation of the real life exp, where it might happen that the tooling is not supporting you as you would wish :-)

**What problems is Security Blue Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Qualitative blue team side training, from A to Z what an analyst should know. Great for new joiners to cyber sec field. Making my life easier as a team leader of SOC OPS.

**Official Response from Reece Waughman:**

> Hi Karel, thanks for taking the time to leave a review and glad the platform is working well and helping you to motivate the team. Appreciate you raising the feedback about tool loading speed, we’ll take a look at this. Thanks again for sharing your review.

 ### 37. Empowers our SOC engineers and analysts with real‑world defensive skills

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Farid K. | Security Solutions Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Security Blue Team?**

Security Blue Team gives me exactly what I needed when I was SOC lead: a reliable way to prove every analyst, whether a fresh graduate or a mid‑career changer, can handle day‑one tasks before touching live alerts. The BTL labs guide them through log triage, host forensics, basic threat intelligence, and incident reporting in the same sequence they meet those problems on shift. The result is a team that speaks the same technical language and reacts consistently under pressure, something I struggled to achieve before.

**What do you dislike about Security Blue Team?**

The virtual lab environment occasionally loads slowly, which can interrupt momentum.

**What problems is Security Blue Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our 24 × 7 SOC used to struggle with uneven skill levels and long onboarding cycles. Security Blue Team solves both issues by giving every new analyst the same, hands‑on curriculum that mirrors real shift work. Junior hires reach operational competence in weeks instead of months, senior staff spend far less time on remedial coaching, and I have objective progress data for audits and performance reviews. The result is faster, more consistent incident handling and a measurable reduction in escalations.

**Official Response from Reece Waughman:**

> Hi Farid, thanks for such a detailed review. It’s great to hear the labs have helped build consistency and confidence across your SOC team, especially during those critical first few weeks when people join the team. Appreciate you flagging the occasional slow loading times in the virtual labs, we’ll keep a close eye on this. Glad to hear that we are helping to reduce escalations and improving the way incidents are handled.

 ### 38. Genuinely helpful hands on training for real world cyber roles

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joel M. | Cyber Security Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Security Blue Team?**

The labs are what set it apart for us. My team actually got stuck in and learned by doing rather than just reading slides or watching videos. It gave them a proper taste of what they'd face in a real security role , stuff like triaging alerts, looking at logs, responding to incidents, and so on. It's way more practical than a lot of other training platforms we've tried. And the fact that the certifications are actually respected in the industry now is a massive bonus and great to put on CVs and good for internal development too.

**What do you dislike about Security Blue Team?**

Honestly, there’s not much to complain about — especially considering how affordable the BTL1 course is. Great value for what you get.

**What problems is Security Blue Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It’s helping bridge the gap between theory and actual hands on experience. A lot of training platforms just throw information at you, but SBT puts people in situations where they have to do the work - investigate alerts, dig through logs, and make decisions like they would in a real SOC. For my team, that’s been brilliant because it’s built their confidence and made them more effective in their day to day roles. It’s also given us a structured way to upskill staff without needing to build everything from scratch ourselves.

**Official Response from Reece Waughman:**

> Hi Joel, thanks for the review and really glad the labs are working well and giving you a way of up-skilling the team giving them hands on experience. Great to hear the real-life operational learning is making a difference and helping the team gain confidence.

 ### 39. From Zero Knowledge to Confident Defender: A Transformative Journey with BTL1

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** abdullah q. | Co-Leader, Cybersecurity Committee, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Security Blue Team?**

As someone who had no prior experience in cybersecurity, BTL1 was exactly the structured and hands-on path I needed. The course content is incredibly beginner-friendly, yet dives deep enough to build real-world skills. The labs are practical, interactive, and mirror real SOC analyst scenarios—perfect for grasping core blue team concepts like SIEM analysis, threat intelligence, and incident response. The platform also provides amazing mentorship and community support, which kept me motivated throughout. The exam itself was challenging yet fair, testing my skills in an applied and realistic way. BTL1 doesn’t just teach you theory—it prepares you to operate effectively in a real security operations environment. It truly took me from clueless to capable.

**What do you dislike about Security Blue Team?**

The only downside for me is the price of BTL2—it feels a bit high for students or those just starting out, even though the content is excellent.

**What problems is Security Blue Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For me is adding new content periodically

**Official Response from Joshua Beaman:**

> Hi Abdullah, many thanks for your review! I'm glad to hear you found lots of value in our training, especially as someone completely new to the field. I've noted your feedback about the price of BTL2 as an individual - we have some plans in the works to make our training more accessible, so keep an eye out in the future! Best of luck with your career.

 ### 40. Clear, Well-Structured Content That’s Easy to Navigate

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Security Blue Team?**

The material was clear and easy to use. It was also easy to read overall, and the explanations were accessible even for readers without native‑level English skills. The combination of clarity, organization, and straightforward language made the experience both efficient and enjoyable.

**What do you dislike about Security Blue Team?**

At times, the labs did not load properly, and the audio in the videos occasionally disappeared. Refreshing the page usually resolved the issue, but it interrupted the workflow. The same problem occurred across three different computers and internet connections, so it did not seem to be device‑specific. Improving the stability of the lab environment and video playback would significantly enhance the overall learning experience.

**What problems is Security Blue Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Security Blue Team helps bridge the gap between theory and real‑world defensive skills.

**Official Response from Joanne Morley:**

> Thank you for taking the time to review our certifications and the feedback about the labs and videos. We're pleased that you found our material clear and easy to use and that we have a good link between theory and real operational experiences.

 ### 42. Effective for Real-World Blue Team Training

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Saidbek R.

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2026

**What do you like best about Security Blue Team?**

I like Security Blue Team's recognition because HR knows how difficult it is to obtain the BTl1 certification. The exam environment is stable and fun. I also appreciate that the exams and labs are really simulated real-world examples.

**What do you dislike about Security Blue Team?**

Information and examples of CTI and Hunting could be improved. They mostly consist of long texts and could be made into bite-sized pieces.

**What problems is Security Blue Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Security Blue Team for training in security operations and incident response, with recognition and stable, real-world exam environments enhancing my learning.

**Official Response from Joanne Morley:**

> Thank you for your review, it's good to hear you found our exams and labs to be good simulations of real-world examples and thanks for the feedback regarding some of the modules on CTI and threat hunting.

 ### 43. BTL1 Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gavin F. | CTI & Blue Team Intern, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 27, 2025

**What do you like best about Security Blue Team?**

What I like best about Security Blue Team is the hands-on, practical approach to learning. The BTL1 exam effectively combines real-world scenarios with key cybersecurity concepts, which helps build both knowledge and confidence. The materials are clear, and the support from instructors and the community is excellent. It’s a great way to prepare for a blue team role.

**What do you dislike about Security Blue Team?**

One downside is that Security Blue Team certifications, like the BTL1, aren’t as widely recognized in the industry yet. While the training is solid, having more industry recognition would help make the certification more valuable when job hunting or advancing in the field.

**What problems is Security Blue Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Security Blue Team addresses a key gap in cybersecurity training by focusing on the practical skills needed for blue team roles, such as threat detection, incident response, and monitoring. This was exactly why I chose to take the BTL1 exam, I wanted hands on experience that would prepare me for real world security challenges. The course bridges the gap between theory and practice, offering scenarios that mirror the issues security professionals face daily. It’s been extremely beneficial in building my confidence and competence, giving me the skills I need to step into a blue team role with real expertise.

**Official Response from Joanne Morley:**

> Hi Gavin, thank for your review, we're glad you liked the hands-on, practical learning approach and the support from our instructors and community was helpful. Good to hear that it's given you the confidence to build your skills for your next role.

 ### 44. A great start into a SOC career.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zi Xuan O. | Security Consultant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 27, 2025

**What do you like best about Security Blue Team?**

It's structured well and made the learning path clear and easy to follow. It also provides sufficient resources and time to carry out tasks optimally. The free training and courses itself provides exposure to technical terms, concepts and the opportunity to learn actual cybersecurity skills to be brought into my future career. The system also makes progress tracking easy which is important to me.

**What do you dislike about Security Blue Team?**

From personal experience and friends using the same platform, labs can be laggy 3 out of 5 times. this creates a lot of frustration in waiting for the interface to load, or to save progress. the certificate is also relatively pricey which is a barrier of entry for low-income groups and countries.

**What problems is Security Blue Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Security Blue Team solves the gap between theory and hands-on skills by providing browser-based labs, structured certifications, and real SOC-style scenarios. It benefits individuals by building confidence, job-ready skills, and recognized credentials, while organizations gain faster onboarding, consistent analyst performance, and measurable improvements in security operations.

**Official Response from Joanne Morley:**

> Thanks for the review and we're glad to hear that you found our structured approach and resources helpful as you were learning, we work hard to make our courses as hands on and as practical as we can. Your feedback about the labs is useful too and glad you found it's given you job ready skills and confidence.

 ### 45. Detailed practical blue team training

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shubham S. | Student, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Security Blue Team?**

The thing i liked the most about was how detailed it was and makes you feel what really happens in a practical environment and how do you tackle it while giving you references and links to learn in detail about any particular topic.

**What do you dislike about Security Blue Team?**

There really isn't anything about the certificate i dislike sometimes the lab is slow but that is understandable besides that i am a student and it was great i could receive student discount which made it more attractive and accessible.

**What problems is Security Blue Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The one major problem i think is gaining practical knowledge since there are so many others which equip you with theoretical knowledge but lacks in practical which i think blue team does best while also having theory and not focusing on one specific role.

**Official Response from Joanne Morley:**

> Hi Subham, Thanks for the review and it's encouraging to hear the detailed content and practical focus helped build your practical operational understanding. Glad the student discount helped make it more accessible. Appreciate the note on lab speed and that it did not take away from the overall experience.

 ### 46. Great Training and Realistic SOC Investigation Simulations

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Security Blue Team?**

The training is good, and the simulation does a very good job of reflecting what a SOC investigation is like.

**What do you dislike about Security Blue Team?**

Nothing in particular to point out—everything went smoothly from start to finish.

 ### 47. Very eye opening and fun

**What do you like best about Security Blue Team?**

Coming from getting a certification that was purely theory to BLT1 with so much practical labs and hands on exam was really fun to learn about cybersecurity. It gave the confidence needed to keep going on my cybersecurity journey.

**What do you dislike about Security Blue Team?**

I don't think there was something I did not liked, but maybe having more labs where SIEM and windows logs analysis is needed would be great, mostly because that's the common scenarios in enterprise environments.

**What problems is Security Blue Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Is providing the much needed tools to get started on cybersecurity, specially the practical labs and exam provide enough skills to get started on entry level job or go after other certifications.

**Official Response from Joanne Morley:**

> Thanks Isaias, it's great you found our practical labs and hands-on exam really useful (and also fun) having completed more theory based courses before. Thanks for the feedback about SIEM and windows log analysis too.

 ### 48. Highly recommend Security Blue Team training for SOC analysts

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Security Blue Team?**

Blue Team Level 1 (BTL1) is an outstanding course for SOC analysts and incident responders. The course includes a combination of virtual training and lab exercises with a 24 hour incident response exercise at the end. The hands on training is great and covers so many key areas SOC and IR analysts need to understand.

**What do you dislike about Security Blue Team?**

We had great results with the BTL1 course. A few of my senior analysts took the BTL2 course and came away a bit frustrated in the way they were measured. We were one of the first groups to take the BTL2 course and at the time, there was only one person grading the final report used to pass/fail students so we had to wait several weeks for results. It seems that the coursework did not prep students to meet the expectations/writing style the grader was looking for in the final exercise. This may have changed since we were part of the first iteration of the course.

**What problems is Security Blue Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Security Blue Team provides excellent training for our SOC analysts. It covers many topics, tools, and techniques that SOC analysts must have in order to be successful in their role.

**Official Response from Reece Waughman:**

> Hi Brad! We're glad to hear that you found our Blue Team Level 1 course to be outstanding and beneficial for your SOC analysts. We appreciate your feedback and will take your concerns about the BTL2 course grading process into consideration for future improvements.

 ### 49. This Cert landed me my first Cybersecurity job

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Denice V. | Information Security Analyst , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 19, 2025

**What do you like best about Security Blue Team?**

The whole platform is very easy to use and straight-forward. You will learn fundamentals in this course. The labs and the lessons are very well explained, especially the technical ones. Those that are jumping to cybersecurity will benefit from this course and the training materials.

Their support team is also top-notch, they are ready to help you whenever you need help. People and the SBT community are very helpful also.

**What do you dislike about Security Blue Team?**

Wish there was a lifetime access for your BTL passers.

**What problems is Security Blue Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hiring in the industry. Before taking BTL1 cert, I tried applying to different companies and I was ignored. But after passing the cert and tried to apply to few different companies, I got hired because of this certification.

**Official Response from Joshua Beaman:**

> Hi Denice, thanks for the review and congratulations on landing your first cybersecurity role. I'm really glad BTL1 helped build your confidence and open that door, and that our support team made a difference too. Thanks for flagging the feedback about lifetime access once a course is completed. We’re always looking at ways to improve and this is useful to know.

 ### 50. Excellent Entry-Level Cyber Certification with Real-World Relevance

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Security Blue Team?**

The content strikes a great balance between accessibility and depth. While designed for beginners, it still delivers solid value for more experienced professionals through its practical scenarios and strong focus on defensive operations. The labs are the standout feature, highly engaging, hands-on, and crucial for consolidating knowledge. We’ve used it to certify most of our cyber team and as a giveaway for security-minded individuals across the wider business. It’s been a great way to upskill and spark interest.

**What do you dislike about Security Blue Team?**

There’s very little to fault. Some parts of the platform could be a touch more polished, and a few modules might benefit from small updates to reflect newer tools or techniques. That said, the overall experience was excellent.

**What problems is Security Blue Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Security Blue Team has helped solve the challenge of finding a practical, accessible way to upskill people in defensive cyber. It’s been really useful for onboarding new team members, especially those who don’t come from a traditional security background. The hands-on labs make a big difference — they help people build confidence and apply what they’ve learned straight away. We’ve also used it as a way to spark interest across the business by giving the course to individuals who show curiosity about security. It’s helped us build a more cyber-aware culture and given the team a solid, consistent foundation to build on.

**Official Response from Joanne Morley:**

> Thanks for the detailed review. Good to hear the labs have been valuable and have supported both your cyber team and those who are new to your team. Appreciate the feedback on platform polish and content updates, it’s helpful information as we continue to develop the platform.
