"SCALE Computing a Perfect Fit for K-12 Education and to Grow with School Districts"
5/5
What do you like best about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?

We have been a SCALE customer for over 10 years. As our school district has grown, so has SCALE (product features) as well as the implementation of our SCALE Clusters (to match our size needs and increases). In many situations and use cases in technologies, these types of increases have a cascading impact: More users requires more storage and processing capabilities; more capabilities requires more servers; more services requires more space; increased space requires more cooling... and so on. HOWEVER, with SCALE, this is absolutely NOT the case. Despite our recent 40% growth, our overall footprint, along with supporting resources has not grown in size and space. The SCALE technology is so efficient that we rotate to new equipment, which often consumes less space and resources. Think about this when compared to other virtualization resources: More of everything! If SCALE wasn't already the top provider, they are now making it possible for us to utilize some of our existing resources for scenarios where space is limited. Every year we attend SCALE Platform and come away energized knowing we have the best technology available to manage our district systems. SCALE is exceptionally reliable and we're fortunate to have the company as a partner to the district. The UI provides an ease of use unmatched by other competing products. Support is amazing at every level. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?

We would like to take advantage of more of what they have; even deploy it across greater areas, deploy into our larger schools, and even build-out more for DR. Unfortunately, we can't afford it. I would like to have all school districts in our regions using it in some capacity, but they have to drop to their 3rd and sometimes 4th choice due to limited funding in education. I would like to see more options available for rural schools who need (but cannot afford) to invest in SCALE. I work closely with many other districts who are envious of us... they want it as well but they can't afford it. That being said, some of the new technology being released by SCALE will render other less-costly options. Competing solutions are even more costy; we're just very pleased we are hooked into SCALE! "Scale clusters are intuitive and easy to use. Scale Tech Support is top tier"
4.5/5
What do you like best about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?

Scale cluster handles so much on the backend. There isn't much to do to setup VMs. Just click the + button, configure the basic virtual hardware settings and there's your VM. Super quick to spin up. Snapshots and replication are super easy to configure. The built in redundancy of a scale cluster gives massive peace of mind. We actually just had a drive fail a couple weeks ago. I trusted the platform and didn't worry at all. Scale support remoted in, checked it and had a drive shipped overnight to us. Everything just continued to work.

Everybody can sell products and services. Support is the big make or break factor. Scale Tech Support is top tier. Always knowledgeable. You can email and get a response very fast. You can call and get with a support engineer on the phone in minutes. They will help with anything. Issues with the product (which is rare) or even just knowledge when trying to do something. What do you dislike about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?

There doesn't seem to be a function to plug in an external drive and transfer data to a VM. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"It just works, and it works well"
5/5
What do you like best about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?

I don't have to spend a bunch of time managing and configuring things. I can tweak it if I want, but mostly it just works without me having to worry about it. And the support has been fantastic. If some guys from Scale stopped by and asked me to go to Waffle House with them to throw down with guys from *redacted*, I would have their backs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?

Error conditions could use more detailed descriptions. I rarely run into them, but the last time I did, the message was pretty vague and didn’t give much context about what went wrong. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simple yet, so sweet!"
4.5/5
What do you like best about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?

The simplicity of the interface and how easy it is to move VMs from one physical node to another node. This by itself is the key for me, having previously been a Hyper-V person. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?

Overall, SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite has proven to be a reliable and capable virtualization platform. The interface is straightforward, deployment is relatively simple, and the support team has consistently been knowledgeable and helpful when assistance is needed.

My primary concern is the limited availability of diagnostic and troubleshooting tools accessible to administrators. In many cases, meaningful troubleshooting requires engaging Scale Computing Support rather than providing administrators with the ability to independently gather detailed diagnostic information. This can become especially challenging during outages or critical incidents where phone access, internet connectivity, or immediate support availability may be limited.

I would like to see additional built-in diagnostics, health monitoring, logging visibility, and self-service troubleshooting capabilities made available within the platform. Empowering administrators with more advanced tools would reduce downtime, improve issue resolution times, and provide greater confidence when managing production environments, particularly in K–12 and other resource-constrained organizations where IT staff may need to respond quickly without direct access to vendor support. "SC// HyperCore: Simple, All-in-One Platform That Cuts Infrastructure Complexity"
5/5
What do you like best about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?

SC// HyperCore combines virtualization, storage, and high availability into a single platform. There's far less complexity than managing separate hypervisors, SANs, and clustering technologies. It can be deployed quickly and managed through a straightforward web interface.

For smaller IT teams—or even a single administrator—it's attractive because it reduces the time spent maintaining infrastructure. Rolling updates, node replacements, and cluster management are designed to be non-disruptive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?

SC// HyperCore's biggest strength is simplicity, but that can also be a limitation. Some administrators find that it lacks the depth of advanced features, integrations, and fine-grained controls available in larger virtualization ecosystems like VMware or Nutanix.

Because many deployments are sold as integrated HCI appliances, hardware refresh cycles can become a consideration. Some users have expressed frustration around hardware end-of-life timelines and upgrade paths. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simple Setup, Excellent Support, and Big Savings with Scale"
5/5
What do you like best about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?

It is truly simple to use, even for someone with a non-technical background. Setup/deployment is quick, documentation is excellent, and support has been top notch. We saved a significant amount of money switching from VMware to Scale, and although we originally had to use a workaround for our Veeam integration, that was resolved quickly as Scale completed a native integration. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?

None that I am aware of. We have been extremely happy with the product and support from purchase to deployment to regular use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Painless VMware Migration with Fast, Involved Support and an Excellent Interface"
5/5
What do you like best about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?

We swapped over from VMware to SC// solutions and the process from purchase to implementation was painless. The support is our favorite, as they were involved, aware, and extremely fast to reply with our concerns. The interface is excellent, and our skills transferred from VMware well. WE did not have many integrations, however knowing they exist is helpful for us too. So far performance is great (we had the Lenovo machines as a back end running this) and price was moderate to great for affordability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?

We have not run into a lot to be disappointed about - the biggest hurdle we hit was the migration, picking the right BIOS/UEFI and spinning up a template, but once you do it once and figure it out, it is simple again. Support helped. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"HyperCore Delivers Clear Value, Stable Performance, and Exceptional Support"
5/5
What do you like best about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?

HyperCore earns high marks across four critical areas. Pricing is straightforward and delivers clear value against competing platforms. Performance remains stable and predictable under sustained workloads. The UI is well-designed, prioritizing operational clarity over complexity. Support is exceptional, combining rapid response times with a technically proficient team that resolves issues decisively. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?

Networking functionality is an area with room for growth, particularly for teams migrating from VMware. Product improvements since implementation have been encouraging. The primary remaining gap is load distribution; a more dynamic, continuous balancing mechanism would be a meaningful improvement over the current event-driven approach. "Scale Computing - among the very best choices I have made as a network manager."
5/5
What do you like best about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?

When creating VMs, setting up the # of CPUs, allocated memory and disk space is incredibly simple. I've set up VMs running Windows Server 2022, Windows Server 2019, Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2008, Windows 10, Centos 7, and Redhat 8. In my opinion, one of the best features of Scale Computing is how easy I can manage my VMs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?

Scale doesn't (at the time of this writing) support Microsoft's VM-Generation ID feature. This feature is intended to allow for the safe rollback of a Domain Controller from a snapshot when there is more than one Domain Controller in use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The Cadillac for IT"
5/5
What do you like best about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?

Ease of use. Easier to build new VM's, and restore from snpashots when required. I had to restore one of our VM Servers, and within 3 clicks we had restored the server and had it up and running within a minute. It was such a relief and definitely helps to reduce stress. The system was easy to implement and to migrate existing VM's was easy as well. Integrating into our environment was simple and easy and prepping the network was a breeze. The use frequently, as the best part of this system is mostly set it and forget it unless you have to create a new VM. When I reach out to customer support, they are super firendly and really know their stuff. I said in the past I had never had a bad experience, but I did. Im going to leave my review at this point as the G2 review asked me to verify I was human and deleted the rest of my review which was taking me quite a bit to provide. What do you dislike about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?

To be completely honest and transparent, the only issue I have is that you cant set a VM to run automatically upon powering up, especially after a power outage. It would be nice if this could be stup like with Microsoft Hyper-V.

Another issue we have come across, we do have some applications we run in house, bought commercially that wont run on the Linux Hypervisor. We have had to purchase a big enough desktop to run Hyper-V on it so we could run 4 programs. These programs are vital to our company and this is what we had to do to overcome this short comings.
