It is simple, feature-rich and cost effective all in one NAS

**What do you dislike about QNAP NAS?**

Even though it's simple to use, the GUI could be made more intuitive.

**What problems is QNAP NAS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

network attached storage to facilitate file / storage sharing across multiple systems

  ### 2. Partner since 2012

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Quentin D. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2024

**What do you like best about QNAP NAS?**

Perfectly easy to install, to connect or to manage
I use QNAP to store all my backup, the support help me every time i need with a great quality of service, i use it every day during and after my backup

I change my old QNAP with a new one and the integration of this new bay was the easiest integration a ever made.
The new model came with a lot of new features perfectly explained by the support.

**What do you dislike about QNAP NAS?**

The web interface is quiet similar to Synology but not really fast. We need to wait few second before it show us what we need

**What problems is QNAP NAS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had our productions on QNAP before and we diodn't want to stop using QNAP.
We transfere all the Backup Data on it and it works perfectly in association with Veeam Server backup

  ### 3. Good products, terrible support

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mike S. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2023

**What do you like best about QNAP NAS?**

The product works well when someone who does not work for QNAP sets it up. However, we figured QNAP knew how to set it up and we were wrong.

**What do you dislike about QNAP NAS?**

We spent several thousand dollars on a QNAP NAS. I called them to ask them to set it up for us and Sergio agreed to do this. He spent about an hour, and it did not look like he had set up a NAS very many times before, but he made his way through it. We then just had dozens of issues with our NAS, and I had to called probably a hundred times over several months. Each person tried to solve the current issue, then another issue would pop up. I finally spoke with someone who does not work for QNAP who looked at our setup, and he said "whoever set this up had no clue what they were doing." Within 30 minutes he got it working properly.

I then called and complained. I was told "Well, it's not Sergio's responsibility to set it up the right way". That's absolutely nonsense. If you make a product, and you offer support, and you agree to set it up then it IS your responsibility to set it up properly.

They didn't really seem to care that I spent dozens of hours during our busy season trying to fix this damn thing. I also had to spend almost $100 to ship it off to them to get it fixed because they determined that it was defective. It wasn't defective, it was set up incorrectly by Sergio.

Just a total waste of time speaking with them. If you buy one of their products, don't expect them to offer decent support.

**What problems is QNAP NAS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Video editing. It is fast and works well, but that is despite the fact that when QNAP set it up they didn't do it properly

  ### 4. Unreliable Product - Avoid QNAP

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thomas C. | Chief Executive Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2023

**What do you like best about QNAP NAS?**

QNAP is fairly easy to use when it is working.

**What do you dislike about QNAP NAS?**

Entirely unreliable. After 3 years of light use, it failed and now I'm told it will cost $580 to repair (and that is not all the costs expected). Poor product!

**What problems is QNAP NAS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None - their technical support offered little help and told me I had to send it in for repair with no detailed trouble shooting, even though I'm an experience EE.

**What do you like best about QNAP NAS?**

QNAP is a device manufacturer specializing in network-attached storage devices (NAS) for
environments ranging from home to enterprise. We’ve been using a QNAP TS-231P, a 2-bay NAS appliance with two network cards and a USB slot.
The USB slot can be used for copying data
to external devices for offsite backups.
We use this as an offsite backup for our customers.
Veeam is an industry leader in backup and recovery software.
Veeam Agent, which will be deployed to the dealership’s server via a centralized console referred to as
Veeam Availability Console (VAC). VAC allows backup management and monitoring of all deployed
agents from a single pane of glass.
Each deployment of the Agent requires a license

**What do you dislike about QNAP NAS?**

Nothing. It improves how we can restore security. We are able to encrypt our backup.

**What problems is QNAP NAS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

To able to encrypt our backup data and able to restore the data within SLA.

  ### 8. I have been pleased with the performance of my TS-231P3.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dave C. | Senior Pastor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 08, 2022

**What do you like best about QNAP NAS?**

The drives are easy to mount, and it only takes minutes to get it functional. There are also many apps, and they cover anything I would want to do. It seems to be robust in comparison to other NAS.

**What do you dislike about QNAP NAS?**

Some of the APP functionality is not clear without additional online help. I have no issues with the hardware.

**Recommendations to others considering QNAP NAS:**

I trust in QNAP's quality and reliability. I would recommend the TS-231P3 to my colleagues for primary home and small office use. It has the speed and capacity required to do almost anything my colleagues should need.

**What problems is QNAP NAS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was looking for an efficient way to back up data on my home computers and provide Media streaming. This NAS answers all the needs and has increased overall productivity.

  ### 9. QNAP - GREAT Storage / Filesharing option!!! I have the QNAP TS-h973AX - its awesome!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 17, 2021

**What do you like best about QNAP NAS?**

I like how you can have an IMMENSE amount of space at your fingertips for a very consumer freindly pice - a wide range of storage devices, but, my model fits my workig from home AMAZINGLY well, and is incredibly versatile and configurable. Can't say enough!

**What do you dislike about QNAP NAS?**

I just wish this model had as many ethernet ports as my QNAP TS-453A had, but, no big deal, I am getting a switch. Overall I'm very impressed it it totally suits my needs.

**Recommendations to others considering QNAP NAS:**

Of course which model you choose depends on your needs, but, if you have a home office and do heavy graphics work / archiving, I HIGHLY recommend this model. I have 5 drives stipped RAID 5 for my archiving / filesharing with coworkers, and yet, this also has 4 other SSD Drive bays!!! I plan on dedicating one SSD bay to handle the surveillance camera feeds I will put around the house, and another to use for Time Machine backups for my Macs. ...and that STILL leaves me with 2 bays free to use for whatever!! What a great machine - and its fast and has PLENTY of RAM.

**What problems is QNAP NAS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have to learn how to configure FTP and various other aspects as I am not an 'IT Guy' per se, but, there is a wealth of information and videos and 'how tos' on YT and in message boards, and tech support has also been fantastic when I needed any help.

  ### 10. QNAP For Document Share

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Allyson C. | Country Events Coordinator, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2021

**What do you like best about QNAP NAS?**

I love that I can share large files, including entire folders with documents, images, etc. with clients in an easy and efficient way.

**What do you dislike about QNAP NAS?**

I'm not sure how secure the file-sharing system is. There doesn't seem to be a way to passcode protect the share links, but I have not spent much time looking into it.

**What problems is QNAP NAS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are solving the issue of email platforms being unable to accommodate files of a certain size.

  ### 11. disappointing

**Reviewed by:** Victoria T. | Tech support level 2/3

**Reviewed Date:** February 01, 2022

**What do you like best about QNAP NAS?**

it is fairly easy to use. and has a lot of options

**What do you dislike about QNAP NAS?**

The life span seems to be very short, we have had two die in the past year and the one was only a month over two years old and the other was only 3 years

**What problems is QNAP NAS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

it was great for storing backups but as I need to keep backups long term it isn't a long term solution

  ### 12. Best NAS for budget

I love that qnap is affordable and comes with the sfp+ on all enterprise models this really makes storage super fast and reliable

We had an incident where the qnap its self got hit with a crypto locker and a lot of our files got locked luckily we had it backed up using hybrid sync so no data loss

**What problems is QNAP NAS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Inexpensive storage and dev vertualization

Could be faster on raid rebuild, but it's not bad.

**Recommendations to others considering QNAP NAS:**

Be sure to think ahead about your storage needs, anticipating correct drive sizes for down the road.

**What problems is QNAP NAS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Large media of AV assets were really stored for production team to use across systems. Adding users is easy and secure.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yordam G. | Datasolution Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2020

**What do you like best about QNAP NAS?**

The best thing about the product is that it is portable and plug-and-play. Thanks to these features, we can optimize the product as we wish. In addition, the presence of a 10GbE SFP + interface provides fast data transfer over the network.

**What do you dislike about QNAP NAS?**

The product performance and network interface are really good but I think the price is very expensive. I think it would be better to have a more competitive price than competing products.

**What problems is QNAP NAS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have provided an important solution for faster and safer data storage within the company. In addition, we ensured that high-dimensional data can be retrieved over the network and stored.

  ### 16. easy storage

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** November 26, 2019

**What do you like best about QNAP NAS?**

its cheap, easy to implement. has cloud services. you can import data from one qnap to other.
i am using three storage services. its bays supports almost all vendors hard drives.

**What do you dislike about QNAP NAS?**

sometimes it asks for update every second week and we have to restart then. which is kinda hard as every time its in use and up.

**Recommendations to others considering QNAP NAS:**

it good to use this. has lots of options to connect remotely with servers as well as virtual machines.

**What problems is QNAP NAS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

storing lots of data and backups. using it with vmware and veeam to.

  ### 17. QNAP - Network attached server and storage with multiple applications

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2019

**What do you like best about QNAP NAS?**

The QNAP network devices we utilise are mainly for fiel storage and online backup. However, they work just as well as servers for video, web sites, document management, photo storage etc. The web interface for managing the devices is excellent.

**What do you dislike about QNAP NAS?**

We found that once the initial warranty ran out it was questionable how to get extended warranty. We were also told by QNAP support that the unit would have to be sent to another country for repair meaning there would be no onsite repair and considerable downtime. So having a few of these units for redundancy is vital.

**Recommendations to others considering QNAP NAS:**

Check your warranty options.

**What problems is QNAP NAS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

On site storage that isn't affected by lots of Windows updates and new servers upgrades.
