Plooto is easy to get up and running, and the payment approval workflow is intuitive. The interface is clean, payments are straightforward to process, and it integrates well into a typical accounts payable workflow. The manual risk review process has become a significant operational burden. We've had multiple legitimate supplier payments delayed while repeating verification steps for changes that were initiated and authorized by our own organization. While fraud prevention is important, the process feels overly rigid and doesn't scale well for businesses processing a meaningful volume of payments.

Even more frustrating was the lack of engagement after raising these concerns. After complying with the requested verification, I asked twice to speak with someone from Customer Success or Management to discuss our experience and whether there was a more practical workflow available. As of writing this review, I have not even received an acknowledgement of those requests.

The main drawback is that sending money through Plooto takes a week (five business days) from the time it leaves our bank account to when it lands in the recipient’s account. I know Plooto Express is now available for expedited payments, which is helpful in a pinch, but the 0.50% fee can get expensive quickly—especially with some of the larger amounts we send. I don't dislike anything about Plooto, but perhaps there could be improvements in the way international payments are processed as its often tricky to get exchange rates to aslign between the moment the payment is processed vs the moment the money actually comes out of the account, causing discrepancies. Plooto takes a minimum of 4 to release payments to our suppliers. Depending on the time of day that the final approval is make, it can take up to a week for the suppliers to receive the funds. I like that I can log in and see when people have signed, which provides transparency. I also appreciate getting notifications when a payment is going out, when it's been processed, and when it's been deposited. This feature saves time and keeps me informed. I'd like it if there were less of a delay in getting paid. I know there is an instant option, but it costs more money. So I would like the transfer to be quicker. That would be a nice feature. Plooto is very clunky is does not integrate well with Quickbooks desktop. The syncing fails every 10th time and it makes an incorrect entry in the books which then needs to be corrected with a journal entry.
