## About Onsen UI
Open source HTML5 hybrid app framework for PhoneGap & Cordova

## Onsen UI Reviews
 ### 1. Good and Easy to use IDE

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** mayand t. | Lead BI Developer/ Solution Architect, Telecommunications, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 11, 2018

**What do you like best about Onsen UI?**

Hybrid app development is so much easier than native app development and with Onsen UI we can use our existing AngularJS, JQuery, Plain JS or ReactJS and HTML5 skills to create and publish an app in all the platforms (iOS, Android, Amazon Tablets(also Android) and Microsoft).
The apps have good performance in iOS and perform exactly like native iOS apps unless you have some map feature. The developers at OnsenUI do a good work in adding new elements, features like infinite scroll and UI frameworks like MaterialUI. They also have several sample apps for various needs so it is much easier and faster to use one of those apps and then start customizing them to fit your needs.

**What do you dislike about Onsen UI?**

The price. They have increased the price in recent times. Although I find it much easier to use compared to ionic but smaller community base means that we have less public contribution and in some cases, some of the bugs take a long time to get fixed. Although the performance of the apps in iOS is much better but in Android, sometimes it is slower. Also, they should introduce native plugins for maps.

**Recommendations to others considering Onsen UI:**

If you are in need of an IDE or a UI Framework for Hybrid Apps, then you should consider OnsenUI. Although the community is not as big as ionic but it is easier to get started with.

**What problems is Onsen UI solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I build Hybrid apps with OnsenUI that can work well in all the platforms.

 ### 2. Onsen UI review

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Glenn O. | Walk-in Support Center TSE Team Lead, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Onsen UI?**

Development is easier than native app development and with Onsen UI we can use our existing AngularJS, JQuery, Plain JS or ReactJS and HTML5 skills to create and publish an app in all computing platforms

They perform well in iOS and function like native iOS apps unless you have some map feature. There are also several sample apps for various needs making it much easier and faster to use one of those apps while allowing customization

**What do you dislike about Onsen UI?**

The price. Too many increases in recent times. Some bugs take a long time to get addressed. Performance in iOS is much better but in Android, it is often slower. What about native plugins for maps?

**Recommendations to others considering Onsen UI:**

Be discriminating.

**What problems is Onsen UI solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Multi platform compatibility and use.

 ### 3. Onsen UI has the component that our mobile app was missing

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Laura C. | Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chief Strategy Officer (CSO), Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2018

**What do you like best about Onsen UI?**

Quickness with which integration can be made between missing UI components and our app. Also, the ease of use to deploy Onsen behind the scenes to make a user's experience on our app optimal.

**What do you dislike about Onsen UI?**

The number of actual steps it takes to deploy or utilize the UI initially. We counted (6) steps from start to finish for what it takes to use a new UI, with a couple of the options seeming to be redundant/could have been consolidated.

**Recommendations to others considering Onsen UI:**

Product fills a void no one else seems to be offering in the app world.

**What problems is Onsen UI solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our company's mobile app was in need of some upgrades to increase the ultimate experience provided by our app. Before, steps were clunky/awkward and missing some key transitional steps to improve user impression and ease of use of the site. Wanted to increase both the number of people who came to out site and stayed there.

 ### 4. Decent mobile framework

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James P. | Software Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2018

**What do you like best about Onsen UI?**

Excellent framework integration. It supports Angular 1 and 2, Vue, React, jQuery, etc. The company behind it also has good tooling if you buy into it.

**What do you dislike about Onsen UI?**

It has a somewhat limited component / feature set when compared to something like Ionic..

**Recommendations to others considering Onsen UI:**

If your looking for something that provides a lot of components or features out of the box, it may otherwise be what you are looking for.

**What problems is Onsen UI solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows you to prototype app UI's really quick with Cordova without buying into the complexity or structure some of its competitors carry.

 ### 5. Feature rich, well documented

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 11, 2018

**What do you like best about Onsen UI?**

After trying a lot of other frameworks, Onsen UI turned out to be my framework of choice for SPAs. Integretes well with Angular and AngularJS and plays nice with other frameworks. It's a good alternative to bootstrap.

**What do you dislike about Onsen UI?**

It's component model isn't always granular enough but this may be due to the desire to show complex component structures in more realistic scenarios.

**What problems is Onsen UI solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Attemping to prototype applications was a breeze. With some apps realized in under a week. There are UX schemes that are unique to the framework but analagous to other frameworks and platforms. Resulting in new but familiar experiences

 ### 6. What Onsen is to me

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Meshileya I. | Writer, Computer & Network Security, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 07, 2016

**What do you like best about Onsen UI?**

One thing i like about this Onsen UI is the way it makes work faster, neater and mind catching, when it comes to building an Hybrid Application. With the use of Cordova which helps to manage the hardware of the device which the application is to be implemented on, Onsen is what I will like to tell the world about.

**What do you dislike about Onsen UI?**

Without a basic knowledge of scripting language, one wouldn't be able to carry out much on Onsen.

**Recommendations to others considering Onsen UI:**

If you want your job to be done faster and also, if you want to meet with a wide user, this is what you should simply focus more of your attention on.

**What problems is Onsen UI solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Meeting with the deadlines of clients, even before the deadline date. Since i can actually write my Onsen Application once, then deploy on different OS, e.g Android, IOS, chrome, Windows, etc. It's fun doing this, because, I need not worry about the management of Hardware, since the hardware management (cordova) will actually help me meet every requirements been needed in actualizing the main purpose of the application itself.

 ### 7. CEO & Programmer

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Masahiro K. | 代表取締役, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 29, 2016

**What do you like best about Onsen UI?**

Material Design comes to be easily usable and thinks that it is splendid that the complicated movement is easily usable.A place to be able to easily make a hot mock is high in a point. I in this way can easily make the thing which you should show a user. When more templates are abundant, I am glad. In addition, I think that it becomes easier when there is the thing which put one way of line of flow from login together. It is charm that a document is Japanese.

**What do you dislike about Onsen UI?**

Angular Js is difficult and becomes hard to understand it because it is mixed with jQuery. When more templates are abundant, I am glad. In addition, I think that it becomes easier when there is the thing which put one way of line of flow from login together. But there is a problem because it is easy to be clogged up when I am going to do a complicated thing. In addition, I may not express it to think standard CSS not to overwrite, and this, cutting it into pieces is necessary when I said so.Because there is the place where a source code is not expressed in Directive of Onsenui, I want you to evade contradiction.

**Recommendations to others considering Onsen UI:**

Deep knowledge for Angular js is necessary.

**What problems is Onsen UI solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Even if there is not an excellent designer in the development of the company service, I can easily make a thing such as the application that Google makes and am connected for reduction in cost.

 ### 8. Amazingly simple, efficient, and effective UI framework for hybrid app development!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mark C. | CEO, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 29, 2016

**What do you like best about Onsen UI?**

Onsen has been an extremely quick and easy platform to get up and running with. Amazing applications with near native UI / UX has made this platform my preferred framework to work with now.

**What do you dislike about Onsen UI?**

The only real downside to Onsen at the moment, is with the documentation. Due to Onsen still being developed, the docs are a work in progress; however, that downside is rectified by the amazingly active Onsen community in which you can engage with the actual Onsen developers with rapid response.

**Recommendations to others considering Onsen UI:**

Dive in and get active in the forums. Many people are there to help!

**What problems is Onsen UI solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am currently adapting robust charting with game analytics to provide responsive feedback to users.

 ### 9. Powerful yet Simple

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mining & Metals | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 29, 2016

**What do you like best about Onsen UI?**

The framework is beautiful and everything runs smooth which is very important to deliver an organic user experience in a mobile application.
OnsenUI is very simple to use without complex configuration and yet it provides powerful APIs to integrate to what you are developing.

**What do you dislike about Onsen UI?**

You will see some errors time to time on the console, which comes from the framework. These error messages do not interrupt your app though and the development team are very responsive and will take care of the issues faster than you think.

**What problems is Onsen UI solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Rapid prototyping for mobile apps.

The prototype would be amazing and you wouldn't even need to restart from scratch to develop the actual app.
The theme-roller is one of the best features of OnsenUI which will save you a lot of time and money.

 ### 10. Great Hybrid App Develop UI Library

High speed develop and online.

 ### 11. Building an hybrid Android and iOS app with OnsenUI and Cordova

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alessandro C. | Full Stack Developer, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 29, 2016

**What do you like best about Onsen UI?**

The entire UI is fully compatible with both Android and IOS, I had no problems with touch gestures, even on older and slower devices, and the entire framework uses a simple and intuitive markup.
The built-in AngularJS functionalities are a plus.

**What do you dislike about Onsen UI?**

The documentation sometimes is a bit confusing on how to achieve something, in particular managing multiple screen or sections. The template system can be a bit overwhelming at the beginning, but nothing major. Overall the "dislikes" are really marginal.

**What problems is Onsen UI solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Fast building and prototyping an hybrid application for both iOS and Android at the same time.
The client didn't have the budget for native apps, and OnsenUI saved us a lot of troubles on prototyping a suitable UI for both environments.

 ### 12. Use Onsen UI within 3 mobile apps

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 29, 2016

**What do you like best about Onsen UI?**

I use Onsen UI for mobile app since mid-2015. We first use Onsen UI for quickly obtain a standardized user experience close to native iOS framework. As we need to use angular.js too, Onsen UI quickly appears like a clean and nice alternative of Ionic UX framework. Since 2016, we use Onsen UI 2 wich provide a material design user interface.

**What do you dislike about Onsen UI?**

We need to overcharge CSS directly in HTML source code, and overcharge is not simple to find.

**Recommendations to others considering Onsen UI:**

Onsen UI can be use with Monaca which is compatible with Ionic and other software or language.

**What problems is Onsen UI solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can release standardized UX simply and quickly for our project. We can go faster to show final result for clients.
