It has a one-stop shop utility for previewing and rendering out common 3d model formats and material types. Often for my work I am using GLTF file formats for interchange graphics compatibility so I was able to use Omniverse to verify that .gltf files I create or am given have a consistent appearance in 3d environments using environment reflections and real-time lighting effects. There could be more integration with current game engines and 3d creation tools to allow for a quick swap between omniverse and those softwares, although I am trying to work around this mainly by sticking to the gltf file format. AI mocap tools are indispensable for simple tasks where you need to quickly animate characters. With just a simple webcam or your phone, you can obtain mocap quickly, even to track live action footage for movies or series where you need to track your character's movement. What I don't like is having to open different apps when clearly they are identical. On one hand, having them modular is good, but on the other hand, you want to have everything in one software like Maya or Houdini, that is, to have a creative content creation tool (CCC) in one place that allows you to simulate, animate, capture motion, facial animation, etc., all in one place. Also, the compatibility with USD should be more transparent. The tutorials for some functions, like the integration of facial animation with Unreal, are missing, and the workflows change with each new version. What problems is NVIDIA Omniverse solving and how is that benefiting you? it helps me with complex tasks that would take me a lot of time to do, the access to thousands of high-quality models for UNREAL engine is fabulous, only it disconnects from the Omniverse server from time to time and that makes my scenes in unreal lose the assets I download using the Omniverse libraries. it helps me with facial expressions quickly, also with mocap. and it also helps me fill my scenes with environments within unreal. The updates can be erratic and sometimes leads to system malfunction, sync to the drivers sometimes fails even if the drivers are upto date. It's similar to having virtual characters respond to sounds exactly like actual humans would. Games, stories, and virtual conversations feel better and more enjoyable as a result. Streamlined workflow was the first feature I loved as it allowed multiple 3D tools to be used at once by multiple users.
