"Familiar and Cloud-Ready, but Still Clunky and Missing Smarter Search"
3.5/5
What do you like best about MYOB?

I have grown with MYOB. For me, it is familiar, with every iteration, it still feels similar. There has been growth, and I do like that it can be cloud based now Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about MYOB?

It is clunky, unnecessarily complex at times. I do wish that it had a search feature, which facilitated searching key words in descriptions to assist finding a transaction, or transactions that are the same. I wish that it could highlight just when there is a duplicate invoice number for a particular vendor rather than looking at the entire system. I wish there was a way to turn off auto suggestions as most business names and items have different descriptors not in a dictionary. When I click apply all, and yet it still requires me to apply multiple times, it is a waste of time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlines Multi-Currency but Needs Better Compliance Support"
4/5
What do you like best about MYOB?

I really appreciate MYOB’s robust multi-currency handling, which is a standout strength for our cross-border manufacturing clients. It auto-applies live exchange rates to overseas sales and bank transactions, which significantly reduces manual FX calculation errors during month-end close. I also find the automated bank reconciliation and bulk invoice creation to be incredibly helpful, as they drastically reduce repetitive data entry work. MYOB’s unified dashboard centralizes all international revenue records, making it easy to pull raw transaction data, which we later export to DATEV and Tresorit for German compliance formatting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about MYOB?

MYOB lacks native German accounting compliance frameworks, so every financial report needs manual reformatting to meet GoBD and HGB record retention rules. There is no direct integration with DATEV, requiring tedious CSV exports and data rekeying between platforms. It also does not generate audit trails compatible with German tax inspectors, and its EU-focused support resources are limited, leaving us to troubleshoot cross-border tax logic without region-specific guidance. "Streamlines Cross-Border Bookkeeping with Robust Features, Yet Lacks German Compliance"
4.5/5
What do you like best about MYOB?

As a compliance accountant handling APAC subsidiaries, its multi-currency engine and unalterable transaction logs are invaluable. Live exchange rates auto-update ledgers and cut manual FX math errors entirely. Every invoice, journal entry and payment carries a staff timestamp, simplifying pre-audit evidence collection. Granular user access rights shield sensitive client tax data from junior bookkeepers, satisfying GDPR data segregation rules, and bank-ledger matching speeds up monthly expense close drastically. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about MYOB?

MYOB has zero native support for German accounting standards. There’s no preloaded SKR03/SKR04 chart of accounts, no USt tax reporting templates, and no DATEV-compatible GoBD export function. There are no native links to German tax software or ERPs, so every month I manually convert and remap all transaction CSVs before importing to DATEV. It also lacks automated reminders to archive or delete expired financial records per GDPR, and post-export ledger adjustments demand lengthy Excel editing to meet HGB disclosure rules. "Business Lite - A virtually worthless piece of software"
0/5
What do you like best about MYOB?

The price was competitive but the package itself was worthless Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about MYOB?

We recently signed over to MYOB as their package seemed very competitive with Xero, and was advertised as competitive on things like statements, inventory items etc.

The reality was their software is horribly designed. Under the surface, there were so many other restrictions (such as not being able to make minor adjustments!) that the software on their business lite package is not functional even for a small company with low requirements. Customer service is awful and you will have to call multiple times to get a response.

If you want to waste time, money and being treated with disrespect switch over to MYOB. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Straightforward Leave Management That Keeps Approvals Moving"
5/5
What do you like best about MYOB?

We currently use MYOB primarily as a leave management portal, and it does a solid job for the basics. The system is generally easy for employees to navigate when submitting leave requests, and the approval workflows are straightforward for managers, which helps keep things moving efficiently. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about MYOB?

It is what it is: very basic, and that’s exactly what I like about it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Efficient Accounting with Advanced Features"
4.5/5
What do you like best about MYOB?

I find MYOB to be time-saving and simple to use. It automatically prepares financial statements, making it easy for me to just print them. I like how it enables me to perform accounting work efficiently and effectively. The process of entering transactions and printing financial reports is straightforward. I just go to the payment and receipt section to enter all relevant business transactions, then head to the report section to print the reports. MYOB has great features, and it works perfectly well for me. The initial setup is easy, just install and use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about MYOB?

I believe this software is for Accountants and accounting students. Features are advance that is not simple for people who are not accountants or accounting students. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Reliable Core Accounting and Payroll, but MYOB’s Interface Feels Old-School"
3.5/5

MYOB is reliable and handles core accounting, and payroll. it is straightforward once you get used to it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about MYOB?

It does feel a bit old school, and the interface could be more modern and streamlined. One more drawback is that it cant be integrated to Amex business credit cards. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlined Accounting with Centralized System"
5/5
What do you like best about MYOB?

I like that MYOB helps remove a lot of manual, repetitive, and error-prone finance tasks, which is a big relief for me. I appreciate MYOB for providing a centralized system for invoices, bills, payroll bank data, and reports, keeping everything in one place instead of scattered spreadsheets or manual files. I also find the process where I go to the Purchase Order, make adjustments, and pay the bill when the invoice is received, to be particularly effective. The initial setup was straightforward through our IT team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about MYOB?

There's a part where when you pay a bill for a particular purchase order that has lapsed a certain due date, the PO number changes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"MYOB review"
4/5

Software is reliable and easy to use. Reports are clear and can be edited easily. Is not overly complex and fairly easy to pick up. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about MYOB?

Generating reports can be slow, especially when there are many transactions. MYOB Essentials reports aren’t the best and lack flexibility. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
