## jQuery Mobile Reviews
  ### 1. JQuery Mobile helped make it so AccountBlaster can work on Phones and Tablets!!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arlon A. | Programmer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 26, 2021

**What do you like best about jQuery Mobile?**

I am great general full stack programmer, but I know very little, next to nothing about building phone apps. I built a web app, AccountBlaster, added in JQuery Mobile, and was amazed to see that all of a sudden, it worked perfectly on phones and tablets (in chrome)!! Obviously mobile functionality is so essential right now! And I didn't have the capability to make it work any other way. Thankfully, JQuery Mobile is free, readily available, generally well known, and worked perfectly and easily to fill the need! You just include it at the top of the page, just like JQuery, that's it. And it just works. That was my experience anyway. See it in action, at AccountBlaster!!!

**What do you dislike about jQuery Mobile?**

There is nothing to dislike about it! One tiny tag at the top of your html file and you have mobile functionality built right in to your web app, simple as that! See it in action, at AccountBlaster!!!

**Recommendations to others considering jQuery Mobile:**

If you built a web app - and you wound up using JQuery UI - put JQuery Mobile in too - and your app will work on mobile devices!! What a gift! Thank you John Resig!!

**What problems is jQuery Mobile solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Without JQuery Mobile there would be no tap-drag interface for AcountBlaster. You'd just go there and wonder what to do - as it is - you can drag the numbers around and make transactions. It's really neato. I would have had to spend a lot more time in development building a phone app in addition to the web app if it were not for JQuery Mobile. As it is, to this day, I just go to AccountBlaster to get my accounting done, even if all I have is a tablet, and it works so smoothly! You can too! Search AccountBlaster!!! (There's an 'AccountBlaster Free' link - use that one!!)

  ### 2. I think that today we have tools more efficient and more fresh for that.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mário M. | Software Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2021

**What do you like best about jQuery Mobile?**

Some compounds are very useful back in the days. But this today we have some frameworks and libs more capable and with more components. Five years ago i like to use it just at that time was the best framework to convert to mobile some apps. In that project we already use jQuery, and jQueryUI, so jQueryMobile was a complement for our needs. We use a lot of components like for example, forms, listviews, navbars, buttons, popups, etc.

**What do you dislike about jQuery Mobile?**

Lack of components, support, no community, bugs, low performance, stops in time... I guest the project jQuery Mobile project was abandoned, with some critical bugs and a old look in comparation with some news frameworks and libs. When i'm used jQuery Mobile i need to make big workarrounds to make functional some components to my needs, so i have some struggles. Today we have some frameworks and libs with more versatility, such bootstrap and materializecss, for example. One of the most dislike form me, was the grid system, we have some strugles and we not use any more.

**What problems is jQuery Mobile solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Five years ago i used so much jQuery Mobile in one application, we develop in my last company. With that we gave support to mobile screens. But after some time we replace jQuery Mobile. When we decided to use jQuery Mobile, we needed to streamline development, so i mention before we already use jQuery and jQuery UI, so we go to jQuery Mobile, but despite all the constraints and difficulties, it was still advantageous at the time.

  ### 3. jQuery Mobile was a great option in the past

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Luis A. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 11, 2021

**What do you like best about jQuery Mobile?**

One of the best jQuery Mobile features is ThemeRoller. It allows you to change your app look simply by dragging and dropping colors. they can manipulate various elements of a page according to the requirements of the client. Likewise, they can also apply the CSS-based transition effects included in the framework to customize form submission and page links through AJAX.

Users can import a current theme, make changes, and export the theme back to the app for integration. I think it was a great solution at its time.

Many businesses find it challenging to get their apps included in Apple App Store. But jQuery includes the virtues of individual environments.

**What do you dislike about jQuery Mobile?**

It was a good solution at its time, nowadays there are other needs and approaches. The project is practically abandoned, it checked out its GitHub repo, their last commit was in 2019 (today's 01-2021). It doesn't support MVC framework. There are new and innovative alternatives rather than jQuery nowadays.

The performance of mobile web applications developed using jQuery differs across web browsers and devices. Programmers have highlighted the apps perform slower on Android. But the same apps run faster on iOS devices. Also, the jQuery applications cannot outperform native mobile applications in the category of speed. This is something you should care about when user experience is graded in you application.

**Recommendations to others considering jQuery Mobile:**

There are other options you should consider before using jQuery Mobile like React Native, Angular JS OR Ionic. They are new and the best options.

**What problems is jQuery Mobile solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One of the innovative features is the cross-platform, a time ago, you had to write code for every OS (Android, iOS or Windows Phone). It also supports several mobile devices with varying screen sizes and resolutions which is great.

  ### 4. It was good before the Ionic

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robson A. | Rockstar Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 08, 2020

**What do you like best about jQuery Mobile?**

Easily way to use components in small devices

**What do you dislike about jQuery Mobile?**

There isn´t look and feel by Operator System

**Recommendations to others considering jQuery Mobile:**

If you want to manipulate DOM, there isn´t better tool.

**What problems is jQuery Mobile solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Instead create a custom component to create complex screens. Manipulate components and to add a rich experience for user.

  ### 5. Early JQuery maintenance, replatforming

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2020

**What do you like best about jQuery Mobile?**

Simple, clean, comprehensive. Very easy to use for quick PoC's. Was always reliably stable and performant.

**What do you dislike about jQuery Mobile?**

Dated now, sometimes complex with packages and updates, third-party integration. While simple, JQuery is now a somewhat dated platform requiring extensive third-party add-ins to bring it to contemporary usage, look and feel.

**Recommendations to others considering jQuery Mobile:**

Could help provide quick tooling around use and maintenance of older JQUERY implementaions for you.

**What problems is jQuery Mobile solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Updating and using for older implementations, Some migration to more recent platforms(e.g., react native ) Useful for quick testing, maintaining older implementations without remediation. Continues to useful now for some testing with geographic information systems (ESRI), MySQL, and even some MongoDB work.

  ### 6. Jquery Mobile adapts your website for mobile phones

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David O. | I.T technician, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 12, 2019

**What do you like best about jQuery Mobile?**

When you use jquery mobile, you have the freedom to built specifically for mobile devices and not have to hack your code to cater for smaller screens. Jquery Mobile has support to touch guesture used on touch screen phones. Just like Jquery, jquery Mobile is also easier to use than native javascript

**What do you dislike about jQuery Mobile?**

Jquery Mobile is difficult to integrate into Angular applications. It involves a series of hacks that are often erroneous.

**What problems is jQuery Mobile solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Jquery Mobile gives you the confidence of writing jquery code and being certain it will run on most mobile phones

  ### 7. Excellent in times of decreasing trials, no longer so important

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marcos R. | Programmer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2018

**What do you like best about jQuery Mobile?**

Com for assistance, and now it is not feasible to find the solution in time. Com for assistance, and it is no longer possible to locate the answer in time. Quite useful in the user interface design segment during mobile application development. I can exchange small codes to create a prototype for my company. The learning curve is almost nonexistent if you have an average inheritance of JavaScript.

**What do you dislike about jQuery Mobile?**

Nothing extreme. Mobile devices have a truly limited computer and memory, and jQuery Mobile uses resources quietly, especially during page transitions and push calls. It is much more difficult to develop a robust mobile application in jQuery Mobile than the alternative. Now it is no longer up-to-date.

**Recommendations to others considering jQuery Mobile:**

I reflected on the initiative to provide more ease to mobile devices, I use them in my projects and it undoubtedly offers the greatest satisfaction with jQuery Mobile. It is perfect for short prototypes, maybe some websites with heavy transitions. No backend head. If you need to use the cross-platform mobile framework, I simply fear that too many jQuery plugins loaded on my website could also gradually slow it down. There are many lighter and more effective alternatives, however, jQuery Mobile is packaged with everything you want.

**What problems is jQuery Mobile solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I no longer use it much for real improvement... Instead of creating a native application, we created a mobile web page with jQuery Mobile, saving many hours of work. We completed the project in 2 months with 2 systems, iOS and Android.

  ### 8. Quite helpful for basic mobile development

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Melifa G. | Web Programmer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 23, 2018

**What do you like best about jQuery Mobile?**

Quite helpful in user interface styling phase during in developing mobile apps

**What do you dislike about jQuery Mobile?**

Quite heavy if compared to custom styling

**Recommendations to others considering jQuery Mobile:**

I was using Jquery Mobile during 3 years ago, and for now I don't know how it's been going.

**What problems is jQuery Mobile solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Help me in mobile apps interface styling

  ### 9. Jquery Mobile reviews

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2018

**What do you like best about jQuery Mobile?**

Easier to host the CDN and it has all the new features for the mobile development. the Media queries are been taken care nicely and has the best plugins available for development.

**What do you dislike about jQuery Mobile?**

Size of the jquery mobile plugins is the one of the major issues, because of unwanted javascript needed to be loaded to use minimum features if used this will be a huge impact on performance.

**Recommendations to others considering jQuery Mobile:**

Check out the feature and your use cases before considering!

**What problems is jQuery Mobile solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We built mobile application for the users in an accountant platform.

  ### 10. I have worked on Family App in Jquery Mobile

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Suleman A. | Principal Software Engineer | Full Stack | MERN/MEAN Stack | Node/Express, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2017

**What do you like best about jQuery Mobile?**

I like the most - look and feel, rapid development and transactions effects.. even user can create a shortcut on desktop to just feel like native apps.

**What do you dislike about jQuery Mobile?**

There is a scroll issue in long listing.. When we scroll the page it got stuck and then not loading the further content. Just due to this bug we are planning to move to native app :(

**Recommendations to others considering jQuery Mobile:**

Recommending to others if their company is a startup and building a prototype to test the idea.. then development in jquery is rapid and platform independent to test the idea.

**What problems is jQuery Mobile solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Problem Solving: - We are providing the Communications tools to Senior Living Facilities.

Benefits - Rapid development, Supported in all platforms etc..

  ### 11. jQuery Mobile Is Much Less Useful These Days

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** C. Spencer B. | Senior Software Engineer, Staffing and Recruiting, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2016

**What do you like best about jQuery Mobile?**

jQuery Mobile does a really great job with browser support. The project really is the go-to place if you need to normalize development for a wide variety of mobile browsers.

**What do you dislike about jQuery Mobile?**

With React and Angular and other single-page application frameworks allowing much more declarative styles, much of jQuery UIs page structure and widgets feel old and clunky. It is much harder to develop a robust mobile app in jQuery Mobile than the alternative.

**Recommendations to others considering jQuery Mobile:**

jQuery Mobile is amazong, but it's looking long in the tooth. If you are doing something non-trivial, use React or Angular.

**What problems is jQuery Mobile solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When I can't rely on users to have modern browsers or I need to support a wide variety of devices, I often use jQuery Mobile to prototype. That is a pretty efficient process. I don't use it that much for actual development anymore.

  ### 12. Building an hybrid Mobile Mortgage Calculator

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alessandro C. | Full Stack Developer, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 13, 2016

**What do you like best about jQuery Mobile?**

It's ready to go!
If you have any experience with javascript or jquery, jquery mobile will come natural to you. It's a full package of all the necessary touch gestures, handlers and behaviours you need to build any app. Learning curve it's almost non existent if you have an average javascript background.

**What do you dislike about jQuery Mobile?**

It's really heavy, sometimes bloated with unnecessary options, and not really optimized for the platform was built for. Mobile devices have really limited computing and memory available, and jQuery mobile uses those resources quiet heavily, especially during page transitions and push call.
Laggy animations and jumpy keyframes are almost inevitable.

**Recommendations to others considering jQuery Mobile:**

There are plenty of lighter and powerful alternatives, but jQuery Mobile is packaged with everything you need. I would recommend to use it as a fast prototyping tool, if you don't really care much about performances.

**What problems is jQuery Mobile solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Building a consistent UI for multiple Mobile platforms The theming system of jQuery Mobile helped me a lot to maintain that consistency and keep the user comfortable in a familiar environment, independently from the device he was using.

  ### 13. jQuery Mobile is a powerful tool but I feel that it still needs some improvement.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 27, 2016

**What do you like best about jQuery Mobile?**

- Easy adaptability with jQuery and Javascript
- Things made sense given some time and after that, it became second nature to me

**What do you dislike about jQuery Mobile?**

- When I first worked with jQuery Mobile it took me some time to familiarize myself with the mobile-first approach.
- When it comes to larger databases, it was tough for it to load fast, but that is also can be said with jQuery as well. When you are given so much power and you don't know how to use your code efficiently, then things like this can come up. Thankfully over the years I know what to watch out for but for someone new it may be a difficult thing for them to understand.

**What problems is jQuery Mobile solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I mainly work on my own personal apps from time to time and also some client websites. However to be honest, I don't use jQuery Mobile too much anymore since I felt that jQuery itself is good enough. I do like the theme that jQuery Mobile comes with when I first explored it, but now I am so used to customizing my own themes and styling my own containers I don't widely use it anymore. I am just afraid that too much jQuery plugins loaded into my website may slow it down.

  ### 14. Easy to learn, easy to use.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** 晨明 . | 资深开发工程师, Internet, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 03, 2016

**What do you like best about jQuery Mobile?**

Lots of demos for me to learn, in a simple WYSIWYG way. I can change little codes to create a prototype of my project. Furthermore, when I meet a problem difficult to solve, I will ask some community like stackoverflow.com for help, and it's not possible to find the answer in time.

**What do you dislike about jQuery Mobile?**

Nothing serious. Maybe it is a little hard to upgrade the framework from a major version to another, especially some widgets like Panels.

**Recommendations to others considering jQuery Mobile:**

It's convenient to make responsive web sites with jQuery Mobile.

**What problems is jQuery Mobile solving and how is that benefiting you?**

An app like Uber, but it's non-profit. Coworkers could share a car to go to the office.

  ### 15. Easy to set up but a bit outdated

**Reviewed Date:** February 24, 2016

**What do you like best about jQuery Mobile?**

It is very easy to set up, and with a theme it looks almost exactly like a native app

**What do you dislike about jQuery Mobile?**

The classic problem of a good out-of-the-box experience is that it is harder to make changes when you want. This applies to jQuery Mobile.

Instead of creating a native app we made an mobile webpage with jQuery mobile, saving many many hours of work.

  ### 16. Excellent at reducing testing times, not-so-optimal anymore

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2016

**What do you like best about jQuery Mobile?**

It delivers on the promise of multi platform compatibility. we only had to deal with a few issues, and they were actually due the way we modified the framework for the project.

**What do you dislike about jQuery Mobile?**

It's not updated anymore. The latest version does not perform as some recent alternatives.

**Recommendations to others considering jQuery Mobile:**

Account for the lack of updates in the last year.

**What problems is jQuery Mobile solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reduced development time for a OTA sales project. Reliable for mission critical web apps.

  ### 17. Great for prototyping

Implementing jQuery mobile, is really easy.

**What do you dislike about jQuery Mobile?**
