"The best reporting tool to get the detailed analysis of a software (Analytics Tool)"
5/5
What do you like best about Jaspersoft?

One of the standout features of Jaspersoft is its robust and comprehensive framework for reporting. It supports a wide range of functionalities that are often difficult to achieve with other reporting tools. Users can extract data in multiple formats including graphs, PDF, Excel, and CSV, providing great flexibility for analysis and distribution.

Jaspersoft also offers powerful scheduling capabilities, allowing reports to be automatically generated and delivered via email or SFTP at specified times. The Domain feature adds an extra layer of convenience and security, enabling access to the database based on predefined roles and permissions.

The platform is user-friendly and straightforward to implement. Creating and deploying new reports is a seamless process, making it highly efficient for developers and analysts alike. In cases where support is needed, Jaspersoft provides access to dedicated support engineers who are readily available to help troubleshoot and resolve any issues.

In our case, Jaspersoft is integrated with our core Java application, allowing users to access reports directly after logging into the main system. This integration was simple and effective. Specifically, for the Symplr ShiftSelect product, Jaspersoft plays a crucial role. Hospital administrators rely on it daily to review audit data, and many essential reports are scheduled on an hourly basis for continuous monitoring.

Compared to the oler versions of jasper in the newer vversion v10 the performance has significantly increased.

They have AI features which enables user to use the products more efficiently.

Overall, Jaspersoft is a highly recommended tool for any software company looking to implement reliable and scalable reporting solutions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Jaspersoft?

Currently, there are no major drawbacks to highlight. However, it would be beneficial if Jaspersoft offered more flexible or discounted licensing options, especially for organizations integrating it into their products. This could help reduce the overall cost impact and make the solution more accessible for a wider range of businesses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Good for Automated Reporting, but Struggles with Large Datasets"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Jaspersoft?

Been using it for a while now and it’s still pretty solid for scheduled reporting. Once reports are set up, they just run in the background without much effort. The export options are useful since we regularly need data in different formats. Also, the access control is something we rely on a lot—it’s simple but does the job. Over time, we’ve also started using it more in our regular workflows, which saves some manual effort. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Jaspersoft?

Performance is still a bit of a concern when working with large datasets. Some reports take longer than expected, especially if the queries are heavy. The UI also feels a bit outdated and takes time to get used to for new users. Error messages aren’t always clear, so debugging can take longer than it should. It works well overall, but these areas could definitely be improved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Michelle Rudd of Jaspersoft

Thank you for providing this feedback and sharing your report exporting experience - this is crucial for so many of our users. Our development teams are always working to improve the reliability and responsiveness with each release to optimize stability and performance.

"Flexible Reporting with Export Limitations"
4/5
What do you like best about Jaspersoft?

I like that Jaspersoft makes it easy to develop server/studio-based reports, charts, dashboards, and subreports by using multiple data sources. I enjoy the studio charts, dashboards, and custom reporting capabilities because they allow me to design flexible, visual, and interactive reports and charts. I appreciate the drag and drop feature for selecting columns, which saves me from writing big lines of code, and the ability to export reports in required formats. Custom reporting for customized reports building and its calculated fields are features I value. The studio report for charts is also essential to my work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Jaspersoft?

I find there are restrictions on exporting the number of rows in reports and crosstabs. Additionally, applying customizations is a bit difficult. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Auseh Britt of Jaspersoft

Thank you for your review. This is valuable feedback on the features and functionality.

"Feature heavy BI Tool with steep learning curve"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Jaspersoft?

Tenant-based architecture and reporting Multi-tenancy is a first-class citizen — not bolted on. Each organization gets its own isolated context, permissions, and report repository. Managing a large client base without report bleed-across between organizations would be significantly harder without this, and it scales well as you add tenants.

Intuitive organization and user management

Creating organizations, assigning roles, and controlling what each tenant can see or do is straightforward from both the UI and the API. Role mapping can be driven directly from SSO claims, which means less manual provisioning overhead as your user base grows.

Deep SSO and identity integration

The external auth extensibility is genuinely powerful. We run both an OIDC/OAuth 2.0 flow for interactive logins and a pre-authentication token flow for embedded/programmatic access — simultaneously, on the same server. That flexibility is rare in reporting platforms.

Highly configurable without forking core code

The customization surface is large and well-structured. We layer in Spring XML overrides, custom JARs, and JSP-level changes — all without touching upstream code. Most platforms force you to choose between upgrading and customizing. Jaspersoft lets you do both.

Fits naturally into existing infrastructure

Jaspersoft doesn't fight your deployment model. Installation integrates cleanly with cloud-native patterns (S3 for artifacts, IAM for credentials, infrastructure-as-code for provisioning). For teams already running on AWS, the operational overhead is low. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Jaspersoft?

High administrative complexity

Jaspersoft is not self-service friendly for application developers. Configuration lives across dozens of Spring XML files, properties files, and deployment descriptors — making it difficult to onboard engineers who aren't already familiar with the platform's internals.

Steep learning curve across the board

Both end users and administrators face a significant ramp-up period. The concepts around domains, topics, Ad Hoc views, and the repository hierarchy aren't intuitive out of the box, and the documentation doesn't always bridge that gap effectively.

Dated UI

The interface is functional but feels behind modern standards. For a reporting product where end users spend a lot of time, the UX doesn't inspire confidence and can be a friction point when onboarding less technical users.

Slow engineering turnaround

When bugs are escalated to the vendor, resolution timelines tend to run longer than we'd expect compared to other tools in this space. For a platform this configurable, a faster feedback loop with engineering would go a long way.

Unexplained behavior and edge-case bugs

There are occasional gremlins — behaviors that are difficult to reproduce consistently or trace to a root cause. Some quirks feel like longstanding issues that have never been fully resolved, which adds unpredictability to an otherwise stable platform.

No meaningful AI functionality

In an era where most analytics and reporting tools are integrating AI-assisted insights, natural language querying, or smart report generation, Jaspersoft lags noticeably behind. For teams looking to leverage AI in their reporting workflows, this is a meaningful gap. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Michelle Rudd of Jaspersoft

Your feedback is important and greatly appreciated. A theme that drives the Jaspersoft roadmap is an intuitive report & ad hoc design experience. Thank you for leaving a review.

"TIBCO Jaspersoft Review: A Great Experience with Platform and Operational Reporting"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Jaspersoft?

TIBCO Jaspersoft is a powerful reporting platform designed for enterprises, perfect for both operational and compliance needs. It shines when it comes to features like report scheduling, secure delivery through email and SFTP, role-based access control, and multi-tenancy support, making it a great fit for regulated environments. The platform also offers a variety of export options, including PDF, CSV, and paginated Excel, ensuring your reports are consistent. With customizable reports and dashboards, Jaspersoft integrates smoothly into enterprise applications, providing real value for organizations that emphasize governed, scalable, and automated reporting over ad-hoc analytics. This can be especially helpful for internal audits and analyzing future targets. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Jaspersoft?

Despite its solid reputation in traditional reporting, TIBCO Jaspersoft does have some hiccups when it comes to modern analytics. You might run into performance issues with large datasets and complex reports, which often means a bit of extra tuning is required.

When you stack it up against tools like Power BI and Tableau, Jaspersoft tends to offer fewer advanced visualizations, has less robust ad-hoc exploration capabilities, and doesn’t quite deliver on AI-driven insights. This can make it less appealing for organizations looking for rich analytics and speedy data discovery.

Clients often find themselves navigating report complexity and dealing with unexpected email failures when handling large datasets, which can complicate troubleshooting. These challenges are definitely something for product managers to keep in mind as they work to meet customer needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

4.5/5
What do you like best about Jaspersoft?

TIBCO JasperReports Server is an enterprise-grade reporting platform that offers advanced scheduling and distribution capabilities, enabling secure report delivery via email or SFTP in compliance with organizational and customer policies. The platform provides robust security features, including role-based access control and multi-tenancy, making it suitable for large-scale, multi-client environments. It supports multiple export formats such as PDF, CSV, and XLSX, facilitating flexible data utilization across business functions. With strong pixel-perfect reporting capabilities and configurable reports and dashboards through built-in editors, JasperReports Server is well suited for organizations requiring accurate, automated, and secure reporting.

From a visualisation perspective, Jaspersoft primarily delivers more traditional and static reporting. It does not yet offer the level of advanced interactivity, dynamic dashboards, drill-down capabilities, or exploratory analytics features that have become commonplace in modern business intelligence solutions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Jaspersoft?

Despite its strengths, TIBCO JasperReports Server has several limitations that may affect overall user experience when compared with modern business intelligence and visualization platforms. The user interface is relatively dated and less intuitive, which can make report development and navigation challenging for non-technical users. Performance constraints may emerge when processing large datasets or complex reports, often necessitating additional backend optimization to achieve acceptable rendering and export performance. Furthermore, the platform’s visualization and interactive dashboard capabilities are limited, offering fewer self-service analytics features than tools such as Power BI or Qlikview. A steep learning curve and gaps in documentation can also slow user onboarding and issue resolution. Some times clients are fasing intrackable schedule email failer as well. "Jasper User Experience"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Jaspersoft?

Jaspersoft reporting for JRXML-based reports is good, but Ad-hoc reports and the Dashboard still need improvement. We experienced many issues when working with large data sets through the Ad-hoc view and the Dashboard. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Jaspersoft?

There is some room for improvement in the Jasper development tool, i.e., Jasper Studio. Sometimes changes take a long time to reflect, which can slow down development. Also, the error messages could be more elaborative and clearer for a developer or admin to understand and troubleshoot. Also, there is room for improvement on Dashboard and Adhoc report, specifically while dealing with large set of data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Michelle Rudd of Jaspersoft

Thank you for leaving a review for Jaspersoft. We are always looking to make improvements and your feedback on error messaging is very important to us.

What do you like best about Jaspersoft?

What I like best about Jaspersoft is its robust and flexible reporting capabilities, which have significantly improved with the JasperReports Server 9.0 upgrade. Many security issues have been fixed, making the platform more stable and secure. The upgrade also provides better UI responsiveness, improved user experience, and more options to customize report columns and layouts.
