I like that Jasper makes social media posts and short marketing copy much faster, and blog posts quicker to create (even if they need more editing). It usually understands my brand voice as simple, friendly, and professional, not too formal or sales-heavy. When I used Brand Voice Control, it generally kept the same tone in social posts and marketing copy and used the kind of wording I normally prefer, so first drafts were easier to use with fewer tone changes. Even with a detailed prompt and specific points, it can miss important instructions and give a more generic response than I want. I have had to rewrite the prompt and repeat missing details to get the result I needed. More detailed or highly specific content was not as fast because I had to make changes and give Jasper more instructions. The brand voice settings are the standout feature for us. Once we set it up, the blogs and content pieces coming out of jasper actually sound like they are from the same company, which was not the case before. It does a good job generating content, but it's pro version doesn't allow you to generate copy outside of the guidelines, even if you free style. Also, the repetition of the types of copy just feel AI slopish. With a well tailored prompt, you can generate better copy than what it does. I find myself using Jasper mostly for captions, headlines and playing around with different versions of the same concept. Some days I am writing for so many different posts and after a while they all start to blend together. I primarily use Jasper for marketing copy work. Ad copy, social captions, campaign brainstorming, landing page wireframes, email copy—you name it. The main reason why I like using Jasper is speed. If I’m feeling really confident about a campaign direction but I need to generate multiple copies to run A/B tests, Jasper allows me to quickly produce something strong to start from. What I like most about Jasper is how Jasper IQ remembers my brand voice and the surrounding context, so I don’t have to explain it all over again every time. I also lean heavily on the agent workflows to take care of repetitive content, like generating product descriptions in bulk. What I dislike about Jasper is the pricing at $69 per seat, it feels steep, especially since the outputs from the standard templates often come out generic and still need manual editing before they’re truly usable. When working on certain HR projects, the AI creation feature sometimes needs a lot more coaching to get the exact information I'm looking for. What hasn't worked well for me has been the ability to build agents and also have greater SEO capability. Both of those features are on a higher-tiered business plan, which is a big jump from the plan that I am on. And being a solopreneur, I don't have a large budget to put towards these types of tools. It just feels like there is a big gap between the team tools and business tools, and they should consider how this affects creatives, solopreneurs, and entrepreneurs, where budget is smaller when it comes to investing in tech stack.
