How much does GreenGeeks cost in 2026?

According to G2 data, GreenGeeks pricing in 2026 starts at $2.95 and can reach $69.95 depending on the selected plan. Pricing may vary based on billing terms or usage, so users should review the GreenGeeks's official pricing page for the most current details.

Who is GreenGeeks pricing best suited for?

GreenGeeks's pricing is best suited for small businesses and freelancers launching or managing WordPress or general websites on a budget. G2 reviewers in this segment — spanning IT, marketing, media, and retail — consistently cite the $2.95/month entry plans as accessible and well-supported. Reseller Hosting at $19.95/month fits agencies and developers managing multiple client sites under one account, with G2 reviewers in that segment highlighting fast account provisioning and email management. Businesses with sustainability mandates across industries like logistics and real estate also gravitate toward GreenGeeks specifically for its 300% green energy offset. VPS Hosting suits developers needing dedicated resources without full infrastructure management.

What are the key differences between the free and paid versions of GreenGeeks?

GreenGeeks offers no free tier. The entry point across shared hosting, WordPress hosting, and website builder plans starts at $2.95/month, with a 30-day money-back guarantee serving as the closest evaluation option. G2 reviewers note these introductory rates are competitive but rise substantially at renewal. GreenGeeks's higher tiers scale to Reseller Hosting at $19.95/month — covering 25 sites, 60 GB disk space, and white-label client management — and VPS Hosting at $69.95/month, adding dedicated 4 vCPU, 4 GB RAM, NVMe storage, root access, and cPanel. Custom enterprise quotes are available for larger infrastructure needs beyond standard tiers.

Is GreenGeeks considered good value for its pricing?

GreenGeeks's pricing draws mixed but mostly positive sentiment on G2. Entry-level shared, WordPress, and website builder plans at $2.95/month are widely praised by G2 reviewers as strong value for small businesses needing fast performance and responsive support. However, multiple G2 reviewers flag a significant renewal price spike — one citing a 3.5x increase after the initial term — as a major concern. Reviewers scaling beyond shared hosting also note that costs rise sharply, with some switching to Cloudways. VPS Hosting at $69.95/month is positioned for resource-heavy workloads. The eco-friendly 300% green energy offset adds perceived value for sustainability-focused buyers, partially offsetting pricing concerns.

I really like how GreenGeeks delivers excellent hosting performance, with my pages loading fast. Their customer service is outstanding, and they respond to my requests immediately. The cost is excellent value, as the fees are very reasonable for the quality provided. They save me a lot of time because I don't have to be a technology expert; they make everything easy for me. The initial setup was simple, as they guided me through each step, virtually holding my hand. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"26 of 28 Websites Down – Completely Unacceptable Support"
0/5
What do you like best about GreenGeeks?

The hosting platform itself provides useful features such as cPanel, backups, WordPress management and multiple website hosting. When everything is functioning normally, these tools are convenient for managing multiple websites from one account. However, my recent support experience has significantly affected my overall opinion of the service. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GreenGeeks?

The support experience has been absolutely unacceptable. After GreenGeeks performed a malware cleanup, almost our entire hosting account became unusable, with 26 out of 28 websites inaccessible and email services also affected. These are live business and client websites, so this is not a minor inconvenience—it has directly disrupted our operations.

Despite repeatedly explaining the severity of the situation and following up for hours, the responses have been slow, generic, and lacking any meaningful urgency. We were told the account was open for public access, yet the overwhelming majority of our websites still did not work.

What makes this worse is the lack of effective escalation when dozens of websites are simultaneously affected. A hosting provider should understand that prolonged downtime can cause businesses financial loss, reputational damage, missed enquiries, and serious problems with clients.

Having to repeatedly chase support while critical websites and emails remain unavailable is completely unacceptable for a professional hosting provider. This incident has severely damaged my confidence in GreenGeeks' reliability, technical support, incident handling, and disaster recovery process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Alex J of GreenGeeks

We understand how disruptive it is when multiple websites or email services are affected, especially when you are managing sites for clients.

We reviewed the recent support history and can see that our team was actively checking the affected websites, confirming when sites were accessible, and providing the available backup options for restoration where needed. Malware related incidents can be complex, particularly across accounts hosting multiple websites, and recovery may involve additional steps depending on the condition of each site and the backups available.

That said, we also understand the frustration of having to follow up while trying to restore normal operations. We have escalated your case to review the full timeline, including the malware cleanup, the status of the affected sites, and how the case was escalated, so we can make sure the situation was handled appropriately.
