In my work, I often operate with hundreds of Gigabytes of logs related to violations, cyber abuses, attacks, brute force, unauthorized access, and many other types of entries, thanks to Graylog. After discovering it, I have the ability to store everything on the powerful ElasticSearch engine, allowing me to search in a few milliseconds for results even with complex filters on large files. The indexing of Graylog in combination with ElasticSearch has no rivals; it is the best free tool I have ever tried for log retention and subsequent analysis or graphical representation. I had to repeat the installation 4 times because randomly, after a few days, the entire Ubuntu or Debian machine would crash. I thought it was a compatibility issue, but it was actually due to full storage that left no space for reading and writing to the operating system files. I had to discover this after hours and hours of troubleshooting because by default it is set without limits and it is not mentioned in any tutorial or official docs. I use Graylog to view all of the system logs. I am QA Engineer and the Graylog is really helpful for me to find errors in the log, to check everything regarding the system and to review it. Easy of configuration, the intuitive UI makes setting and working with Graylog simple and enjoyable. The Graylog support community is outstanding for an Open source application. plus being able to use the full enterprise features (up to 5GB per day) makes the product that much better for small to medium organizations to get, then running and then ramping it up. Its a powerful tool that gives you the accurate information needed such as timestamps, ip address sources, xml results for big data analysis, Gives you the ability to track logs by geolocation. The tool can be personalized for each user.

Comes with a panel where you can find must of the command lines to help you out with your query. You can export data to a local file.

Gives you an histogram that can be filter into year, quarter, month, week, day, hour and minutes.

The item introduces and keeps running as publicized. There isn't a ton to state here. It is in the less expensive segment of big business level log investigation bundles yet at the same time pay tribute to it's underlying foundations. The main aversion I have is the point at which we kept running over the evaluated every day limits for the 'free' adaptation, it shut the entire thing down. This made me lose a few logs... not a major ordeal, yet I do bring up out so others will be watchful for it and update their permit as required. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
