## Glitch Reviews
  ### 1. Honest Glitch review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mihir M. | Augmented Reality Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2022

**What do you like best about Glitch?**

The ease of viewing your development directly on a side pane without any need for extensions is the best feature. Glitch supports almost all kinds of web developments and a super tool for collaborators and independent developers.

**What do you dislike about Glitch?**

Glitch has very less controllability for version control as compared to git. Creating folders/ directories is a bit tedious. Glitch provides less support in terms of fast smart coding features like autocompletion and code suggestions.

**What problems is Glitch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Glitch is definitely a super tool. Hosting websites and web apps for free, easy collaboration tools for developers, download the whole project, changes view side pane, terminal support, support for major development frameworks like JS, NodeJs, React, etc. A tool to sort out multiple dependencies. You can create free CDNs for asset delivery too.

  ### 2. Glitch is an integrated web project hosting service that gets the job done

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cody H. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 04, 2023

**What do you like best about Glitch?**

The thing that I like most about Glitch is how there's a community portal to look at other people's templates and build new ones. The Glitch community is great.

**What do you dislike about Glitch?**

The thing that I like least about Glitch is how each project takes long to load due to distributed hosting, you'll need to wait a couple seconds before you can access your project.

**What problems is Glitch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Glitch is an excellent platform for creating unique developer stacks and demonstrating different developer-focused features in a cloud-based platform as a service.

  ### 3. super simple setup, very little maintenance

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2023

**What do you like best about Glitch?**

you can set up as many "projects" as you want. that really takes out the hassle of reviewing which ones you can delete to make room for new ones, and then, necessarily, updating things that had referred to deleted projects.

**What do you dislike about Glitch?**

the runtime environment has some old things. it's running Ubuntu 16.04, so you can't upgrade Node.js past v16.x. luckily we don't have a very picky project, and it works fine on the versions of Node.js that Glitch supports.

**What problems is Glitch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

we use Glitch to let our programmers set up simple unofficial web apps, such as public code samples. it gives us an environment that can set up npm dependencies and build tools and run a web server.

  ### 4. Best online IDE and hosting platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tiago R. | Student, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 12, 2022

**What do you like best about Glitch?**

Glitch.com is an awesome IDE & hosting platform, way better than one of its main competitors, Repl.it. It has a very supportive community, multiple unofficial addons, and much more.

**What do you dislike about Glitch?**

The only problem of glitch is that non-static projects go to "sleep" after some time. That means that you have to wait for it to "wake up", and sometimes that can take up to a minute.

**What problems is Glitch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Glitch is an awesome IDE and hosting, and it's solving one of the main issues I had: Where should I host my projects, to then show them to the world? I also used Repl.it, but Glitch is way better

  ### 5. One of the best online coding and hosting platform.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ashwin A. | Python Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Glitch?**

I like to use this platform a lot as it has a lot of features which help a lot to save your time and money. We can code online in multiple languages, not just individually but in a team as well. Its UI is modern and very attractive. While coding on this platform it doesn't feel like you are coming online as it doesn't lag. It provides a lot of starter templates for different languages which helps a lot. Most of the other online coding platforms lack modern frameworks like react.js and node.js but glitch covers all these new tools in their platform. It also provides hosting for personal projects. I got a lot of help from this feature as earlier I had a lot of projects and I hosted them all here on glich. We can also add custom domains to it. I have also used it to make my portfolio here as it is easy to share our profile link with any recruiter and they can view all our projects here. And those projects can be from any tech stack it can be hosted here.

**What do you dislike about Glitch?**

The main problem with glitch is that it put your project to sleep if you don't access it for a long time and it takes a lot of time to wake it up again. so if you have to show your projects somewhere on a priority basis then you might get a bad experience. The wake-up time should be less rest everything is great.

**Recommendations to others considering Glitch:**

If you want to make a portfolio where you can host all your projects then glitch can be your first preference. it is an amazing tool.

**What problems is Glitch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The major problem that glitch has solved for me is the project hosting. There might be other free hosting tools available in the market like Netlify and Heroku but they were not much great in hosting node and python projects secondly we need to give credit card details on their platform to add custom domains but here we can add our custom domains for free. It also helped a lot in coding collaboratively with our team. It provides a good amount of cloud storage and we can also directly link it with the Github repositories.

  ### 6. Lightweight and simple, excellent for prototyping as the code is instantly deployed.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ishaan M. | Web Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 20, 2022

**What do you like best about Glitch?**

Minimal setup and configuration required. I can get started with an Express NodeJS API in less than a minute, and the best part is whatever I code is instantly deployed and available for use without any hassle.
Also, the UI is very lightweight and fast.

**What do you dislike about Glitch?**

There is no code completion or similar IDE features available. Even many commonly used keyboard mappings do not work on Glitch.
There should be more ready-to-use templates, for example, a NestJS boilerplate would be awesome.

**What problems is Glitch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

* Quickly testing NodeJS libraries and modules without having to set up a new NodeJS project on my local machine.
* Building and deploying REST APIs for personal projects and hackathon submissons.
* Establishing proof of concepts of ad-hoc ideas

  ### 7. Best free hosting for your Node Projects

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vipul G. | Web Engineer (Trainee), Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Glitch?**

> I like the concept that we can directly deploy our site from our GitHub repository. We don't have to upload our codebase again and again.
> It provides free hosting for personal projects on their platform, If you are a student it will be really helpful for you as you can host your web projects here and can add the link to your portfolio websites.
> We can also make our own personal portfolio here and can share that link to the recruiter or where ever you have to show your projects.
> Best thing is it doesn't just host a static website but can also host dynamic ones.
> We can also make our team here and can work together.
> And obviously its colorful theme makes its UI really cool and attractive.
> We can also add custom domains to our glitch.

**What do you dislike about Glitch?**

> The thing I don't like here is it puts your glitch to sleep if no one uses it for 1 day or longer, I know they do it to save memory and computation power so that everyone's glitches run smoothly.
> But it takes a long to wake it up when you run after a long time.
> This actually makes a bad impact on the person who reviews our project, I just want this process should be faster.

**Recommendations to others considering Glitch:**

> Use it to host your next node or react app it is really helpful.
> Use it to display your projects to the world by just sharing the link to your glitch profile.

**What problems is Glitch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

> I worked on a node project and it was really hard to find free hosting so that I could display the project to the client and can work based upon his review. I didn't find many options in the market and glitch was the best among those I found.
> After then I use it for daily purposes instead of a code pen.
> Now I also use it to host the static sites so that I can add them to my portfolios as well.

  ### 8. Glitch Honest Reviews

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mihir M. | Software Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2022

**What do you like best about Glitch?**

Easy deployment, Direct exporting option to Github, Live hosting and live update for web development, support across multiple platforms like React, Native web dev, Node, etc.

**What do you dislike about Glitch?**

Not much git support, less supportive version control, and new updates ruined the UI and other abilities. Glitch folder system is bad that does not allow creation of folders directly instead requires knowledge about CLI.

**What problems is Glitch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using glitches for multiple purposes
- Web development
- demo design and development
- AR/VR/XR web app deployment
- Machine learning experimentation
- App development

  ### 9. Code and host at same place!!!

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 02, 2022

**What do you like best about Glitch?**

Glitch UI is user-friendly it provides templates for many modern frameworks/libraries like react.js node, elementary and SQLite. With glitch we have both an online code editor to develop our website as well as to host it with a single click, glitch takes care of the domain and everything. We can also collaborate with the team in glitch, plus glitch has the option to set a custom domain as well.

**What do you dislike about Glitch?**

In the free version of glitch, the website goes to sleep when it's not used giving an impression of the website being slow when opened after some time. Glitch also lacks an autocompletion option in its editor.

**Recommendations to others considering Glitch:**

Glitch can be used to quickly host code and to collaborate with the team on a large project.

**What problems is Glitch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use glitch as a hosting platform for my react-based projects.

  ### 10. Good online text editor.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dhiraj P. | Full Stack Developer Intern || Learner, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2022

**What do you like best about Glitch?**

I like how it feels to code online on the glitch is if I am coding offline on my computer and it shows me all the files on the left and I can also Store my images and other assets in their folder so it is is very good in compared to other competitors.

**What do you dislike about Glitch?**

There are many things that could have been better on top of my mind their autocorrect is not working properly and suggestion of the words are sambodhit useless.

**What problems is Glitch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used this is a sandbox playground for my code to run in the environment where a show output with the codes at the time you are coding so you can see where you are going wrong and what you are doing in real time

  ### 11. Amazing service.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Callum S. | Chief Executive Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Glitch?**

Glitch is a simplistic and easy service that allows me to quickly deploy small projects like my portfolio that doesn't require much maintenance and is easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Glitch?**

Glitchs pricing is slightly damning for small personal projects, however it makes sense if you wish to deploy a medium-large scaled application for your company using Glitch.

**What problems is Glitch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Glitch is easy to use, modular and low maintenance meaning its great for things like a personal API or your personal portfolio. It seems professional without branding and fast to your potential employers.

  ### 12. Best For Free hosting.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Piyush G. | Programmer Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Glitch?**

I am a student intern, and The Best Part about Glitch is that it gives me free hosting. I create my project or import it on glitch and host the project and share it with my team or mentors. It gives me all the necessary tools to build a website from scratch. It supports JS also, and js frameworks work fine here too. The interface is straightforward and very user-friendly. You can share your complete project too with your batchmates with hosted URL. Glitch is better than Codepen and other code review software out there.

**What do you dislike about Glitch?**

Naming a project is a little complicated as it auto-replaces the text again and again, and also, if autosuggestion can be added while writing code will be the best.

**Recommendations to others considering Glitch:**

It is better than code pen and easy to use than Github pages. Just for it and you will love it.

**What problems is Glitch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

-Project Building from scratch.
-hosting my projects
-Code Review

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2020

**What do you like best about Glitch?**

It's very easy to create, edit and ship a web application using Glitch. I've used it for numerous hackathon projects as well as test environments that hit production and staging endpoints.

**What do you dislike about Glitch?**

Initial app load performance could be improved but I'm willing to wait given the free pricing!

**What problems is Glitch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've used it for numerous hackathon projects as well as test environments that hit production and staging endpoints. It's made QA easy for our localization teams without spinning up a separate environment and server.

  ### 19. Great for prototyping and testing in Node.js

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Damien M. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2019

**What do you like best about Glitch?**

My team loves using Glitch. It's so easy to use that it feels like a toy, but it can do everything a regular Node.js IDE does on top of being quick and on the cloud. It's completely free. When we need to test a node package or want to create a simple prototype, Glitch gets the job done. We probably could even run our apps in production on Glitch if we wanted to.

**What do you dislike about Glitch?**

There are some storage and computational limits on each app you create, but we haven't run into many problems with this yet. I'm not sure if Glitch will introduce a premium plan, but we would gladly pay for it if it were introduced.

**What problems is Glitch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can quickly create mockups and prototypes for our company and collaborate in real-time with each other on them. It's sort of like the Google Docs of code for us.

  ### 20. Glitch is a tool to develop web apps with a colorful concept

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David S. | Arquitecto de aplicaciones web, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Glitch?**

Glitch is an excellent tool for creating web applications. I like the ease of coding to work with several projects simultaneously. I like its user interface, which is very intuitive and colorful. I like that you have the ability to offer useful advice for using the platform and offer alternatives on how to store your projects.

**What do you dislike about Glitch?**

The only thing I dislike about this platform is sometimes its configurations can be confusing and the integration with Github is difficult to carry out, because I had inconveniences to connect both repositories, however, thanks to the customer service I already found the inconvenience.

**Recommendations to others considering Glitch:**

Glitch is a simplistic tool for the development of web apps. It has an easy to use website and a very intuitive user interface. I highly recommend it to the community.

**What problems is Glitch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Glitch covers certain areas in the organization where I work. We have some web projects that we are developing privately on this platform, to share it among the different members of the organization. It allows us to keep track of versions to correct errors and save time. I also find the code review system beneficial for making corrections.

  ### 21. Glitch is my go-to hassle-free HTML & JS fiddle site

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2019

**What do you like best about Glitch?**

I love that Glitch gives you dead simple preconfigured application bases like a quick Node/Express project right out of the box, which is great for building quick, proof-of-concept APIs. Other cloneable configurations like a React starter project are a couple of clicks away.

**What do you dislike about Glitch?**

I think the UI is sometimes a little difficult to use, and they probably did that intentionally to give it a clever/contemporary look and feel, but sometimes the UI is so sparse and driven by emoji that it's more difficult for an old fogie millennial like me to figure it out.

Also it would be nice if the code editors were a little smarter, and had things like built in Emmet support for common languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).

**What problems is Glitch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm mostly using Glitch to set up proof-of-concept web apps to share with other developers or team members. UIs that require more than just a simple, single page JSFiddle, I'll turn to Glitch to quickly setup a publishable proof of concept.

I also love that you get a real working URL for testing, instead of having to share a Fiddle/code environment with them directly.

  ### 22. Very easy to start a Node.js project

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Monqiue P. | Marketing, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 26, 2019

**What do you like best about Glitch?**

It is incredibly easy to start a new project in Node.js or for a basic website. They have an amazing community and their support is very responsive, which is nice for a free product. It saves so much time!

**What do you dislike about Glitch?**

I wish that I could keep my Node apps running indefinitely instead of the 5 minute timer limit, but as it is a free product, I understand that limit. I would gladly pay a monthly subscription to get past this limit, but they have not introduced a paid plan yet.

**What problems is Glitch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have been able to save so much time, especially for prototyping simple features, and can collaborate easily.
