"GeoSTORM Review"
5/5
What do you like best about GeoSTORM?

What I like most about GeoSTORM is its user-friendly interface and the efficiency it brings to model setup. The program significantly reduces project turnaround time by producing accurate results quickly and effectively. I especially appreciate the automatic watershed and subbasin delineation features, which streamline tasks that would otherwise take much longer in CAD software. Additionally, the 24/7 customer support provided by the GeoSTORM team is exceptional and truly sets it apart from other tools Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GeoSTORM?

One area where GeoSTORM could improve is in its error reporting system. When an error occurs, there are no specific error codes or detailed messages to help identify the cause or suggest possible solutions. Having descriptive error messages or a reference list of common errors with recommended fixes would make troubleshooting much easier and enhance the overall user experience Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"GeoSTORM is an innovative software that allows me to complete stormwater models more efficiently."
4.5/5
What do you like best about GeoSTORM?

Having had the opportunity to use this software to complete projects from less than an acre in size to cities with nearly 40,000 people, I have found that GeoSTORM is able to efficiently complete projects as efficiently as possible no matter the size. Of all the projects I've worked on, I was especially impressed with its ability to complete large studies that would have been extremely difficult to do with other software I've previously used. It continues to be an "all-in-one" software where I can complete all projects I'm working on. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GeoSTORM?

Since I've started working on larger studies, I've found that a query allowing the user to quickly highlight the results in larger projects would be helpful in reducing the time it takes to identify deficiencies. In working with CivilGEO these last few years, I've seen that they take feedback from users seriously and are always focused on improving their software. I look forward to working with them in the future. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"GeoStorm Keeps Geographic and Asset Data Organized with Powerful Mapping Tools"
4.5/5
What do you like best about GeoSTORM?

One of the things I find most helpful about GeoStorm is that it keeps important geographic and asset information in one place. This makes it easier for me to access and manage data without having to switch between different systems. I also like the mapping tools because they help me visualize information and identify patterns more clearly. Another benefit is that GeoStorm helps with asset management and regulatory compliance by keeping records organized and up to date. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A Time-Saving Tool for Stormwater and Drainage Analysis"
5/5
What do you like best about GeoSTORM?

I really like how the program makes it easy to delineate sub-basins and automatically calculate their areas. When performing SWPPP analyses in CAD, this step can be very time-consuming, so it’s helpful to have a tool that streamlines the process and saves a significant amount of time.

I also appreciate that the software automatically computes flow paths for determining time of concentration. This is another task that can take a considerable amount of time when done manually in CAD. Additionally, when calculating time of concentration values, the program allows you to base them on the site’s hydrologic soil properties, which is very useful. I also like that it provides a detailed breakdown of how the TC values are computed, making the process transparent and easy to follow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GeoSTORM?

One challenge I have experienced with GeoSTORM is modeling stormwater treatment, particularly when trying to represent pretreatment practices. At times, it can be difficult to configure the treatment components in a way that accurately reflects how the system is designed to function in the field. Because of this, I sometimes wish there were more flexibility to manually define or customize treatment processes within the model.

For example, having the option to manually represent pretreatment elements, such as sediment forebays or other initial treatment steps, would make it easier to more accurately reflect certain stormwater management designs. While the existing tools are helpful, additional manual modeling capabilities or more flexible configuration options for treatment practices would improve the program’s ability to represent complex systems. "GeoSTORM Review for Urban and Rural Hydrologic Surface and Storm Sewer Analysis"
4.5/5
What do you like best about GeoSTORM?

Although I have not been using GeoSTORM for an extended period, I have already noticed several clear advantages compared to more conventional methods used for urban hydrology and hydraulics analyses. One of the strongest features is the ability to seamlessly pull data directly into the program, including DEMs, soil data, aerial imagery, roadway mapping, and CAD files. The fact that these datasets can be imported without needing to perform separate coordinate system corrections significantly streamlines the workflow and saves time during the design process. Additionally, customer support has been consistently responsive, knowledgeable, and eager to assist, which has made the learning curve much more manageable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GeoSTORM?

GeoSTORM offers a large number of video tutorials that are helpful for learning the software; however, it would be beneficial to also have a comprehensive user manual that could be easily referenced. While the program makes it relatively intuitive to add hydraulic features and place them correctly within a user-defined coordinate system, locating the specific tutorial needed to understand certain workflows or output options can take some time. A consolidated written guide or more detailed indexed reference could improve efficiency for both new and experienced users when searching for specific procedures or troubleshooting steps. "Exceptional Customer Service and a Strong All-in-One Stormwater Design Platform"
4.5/5
What do you like best about GeoSTORM?

GeoSTORM improves efficiency by combining several stormwater design and modeling tasks into one platform. I appreciate not having to constantly move between HydroCAD, spreadsheets, GIS, and separate reporting tools. It helps keep the workflow more organized and makes it easier to review inputs, compare design alternatives, and produce consistent results. CivilGEO’s customer service has also been excellent, their team is responsive, knowledgeable, and helpful when working through real project questions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GeoSTORM?

The main area for improvement is the initial user interface and learning curve. Some tools and settings can be tricky to find at first, especially for new users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"GeoSTORM review"
4.5/5
What do you like best about GeoSTORM?

GeoSTORM provides significant time savings and is a highly useful tool for surface hydrology analysis. The software streamlines and automates processes that would otherwise require extensive manual calculations. Based on my experience comparing workflows before and after using GeoSTORM, the results generated by the program are consistent and highly comparable to those obtained through detailed hydrological calculations and analyses previously performed using multiple spreadsheets. This consistency adds confidence to the results while improving overall efficiency. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GeoSTORM?

One of the few limitations of the software, as with many similar programs, is the learning curve required to become familiar with all of its tools. This learning process is necessary, as certain parameters must be reviewed and validated by the user. Additionally, users need to be able to identify potential issues that may arise during H&H simulations, which can occur if steps are missed when entering surface characteristics and/or design storm data. However, CivilGEO provides a variety of video tutorials that help support the learning process and facilitate user proficiency. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
