Therefore fortinet gives us these sd-wan policies that gives us the balance of charges that a network administrator should keep in mind. **What do you dislike about FortiGate SD-WAN?** For the moment with the manufacturer fortinet I had no problems when carrying out the load balancing. The records are documented when observing which services are coming from another provider and the bandwidth that they are consuming. It is an excellent tool that gives us fortinet to manage the loads of Internet bandwidths. **Recommendations to others considering FortiGate SD-WAN:** Better Use the bandwidth consumption interface. **What problems is FortiGate SD-WAN solving and how is that benefiting you?** It has helped us to have a correct balance in our service providers, in this way we maintain a stability with the bandwidth in the internet services. ### 2. It is essential to implement strategies of multiple routes to the Internet within a company that is constantly accessing services in the cloud and that it is vital that the Internet service is never interrupted but rather that there is redundancy of the services already being accessed to a Cloud service or the company offer a product. Within the FortiGate firewall, it is simple and easy to configure the SD-WAN, only the WAN ports must be configured and the load balancing algorithm must be chosen to suit the need. These algorithms are by volume, by the number of sessions, by the consumed bandwidth (spillover), by ip of origin-destination and by ip of destination. Each algorithm represents a unique configuration according to the needs of the company. In the company where I work there are two Internet providers and through the SD-WAN and the SD-WAN rules the LAN traffic is routed by one provider and the WiFi traffic by the other provider, when one of the 2 providers drops automatically The policy sends traffic to the other provider, maintaining high redundancy at any time and optimizing bandwidth. **What do you dislike about FortiGate SD-WAN?** Until now I have not had any problem with the SD-WAN rather it is a character that I use every day offering more solutions than headaches. **Recommendations to others considering FortiGate SD-WAN:** By knowing all the advantages offered by the SD-WAN of FortiGate, you will be your best ally in the area of networks. **What problems is FortiGate SD-WAN solving and how is that benefiting you?** Optimization of Internet resources and high redundancy. ### 3. Usage of Internet Service Database in SD-WAN rules for routing applications like O365, Microsoft Services, etc. 2. SD-WAN rule usage of applications for application based routing. 3. SD-WAN SLA **What do you dislike about FortiGate SD-WAN?** The load-balancing algorithms are not very efficient and I've found it to misbehave in terms of load balancing sometimes. **Recommendations to others considering FortiGate SD-WAN:** SD-WAN is a powerful feature if configured properly. Kindly pay attention to the configuration of load-balancing as it might turn out to be a night mare if configured incorrectly. **What problems is FortiGate SD-WAN solving and how is that benefiting you?** Some of the business problems our organization has solved via. It has very clear options to set up new configurations as needed to achieve a great balance in the networks to monitor. On the other hand, all necessary documentation is properly stored in its website, and is updated very often. Nowadays, security and network monitoring are the main concern of users, and FortiGate provides several tools for real time data analysis. **What do you dislike about FortiGate SD-WAN?** WAN networks connections are limited only for Fortinet devices. When other devices are present, it is not possible to explore all the software characteristics. Other limitation is that it is most suitable for intermediate / advance users with excellent network knowledge, although it's easy to perform initial configurations of the software.
