Flipturn Reviews & Product Details

Flipturn is a cloud-based EV charging management platform (CSMS) for organizations that need hardware-agnostic charger management, energy optimization, and payment processing in one system. It connects to any OCPP-compliant charger (1.6J and 2.0.1) and lets operators mix charger brands across sites without vendor lock-in. Energy management includes automated load balancing, demand charge mitigation, and time-of-use scheduling. Fleet operators use departure-time optimization to ensure vehicle readiness while minimizing electricity costs. For commercial properties and multifamily buildings, Flipturn handles driver payments, access control, idle fees, and multi-tenant billing with no driver app required. Charger monitoring is powered by AI-based fault detection that surfaces issues in real time with OCPP error context, severity classification, and direct links to full message logs. Operators can reset chargers, push firmware updates, and run diagnostics remotely. For fleet depots, Flipturn schedules charging around vehicle departure times and shift schedules. Vehicle priority rules automatically allocate constrained power capacity to the highest-priority vehicles. Alerts fire when a vehicle is projected to miss its state-of-charge target. Telematics integrations with Geotab and Samsara pull vehicle state and location data without manual transfer. Driver-facing payments require no app download or account creation. Drivers authenticate via phone and pay through Stripe-powered checkout. Operators configure pricing, idle fees, time-of-use rates, and access rules per charger group from the Flipturn dashboard. Free-vend, paid, and restricted access models can coexist on the same site. Integration capabilities include a REST API for session data, charger commands, user management, and energy records. OCPI 2.2.1 enables interoperability with EV roaming networks. OpenADR 2.0b and IEEE 2030.5 support utility demand response programs. Multi-site dashboards provide unified visibility with independent configuration per location. Backed by CRV and Accel, Flipturn serves Fortune 500 fleet operators, commercial property owners, and multifamily REITs across North America.
