"Unreliable in the Field: Crashes, Sign-In Issues, and a Cumbersome Photo Log"
2.5/5
What do you like best about Filio?

I like how it creates a page for each project, uses tags, and can create a visual map for all of our current projects Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Filio?

How it depends on service/ internet. Half the time we do not have good service out in the field, and taking pictures on the filio app for project documentation seems risky because if service is lost, then the data/ picture can be lost too. That being said, I usually take pictures on my actual phone camera to avoid losing anything. It just is not that reliable of an app. Also, the app crashes a lot. Then, it would ask you to resign in, and not allow you to sign in, over complicating the entire process. Creating a photo log is also a bit more complicated then it has to be. When dealing with large projects, the pictures are too small to see so you have to click on each one to see what it is when re ordering for photo log. This could be improved. Response from June Zheng of Filio

Hi Michael, thank you for your feedback. We truly value your transparency, as it directly helps us refine the Filio experience for field teams. We are glad the project tags and visual maps are helpful, but our goal is to ensure Filio simplifies your fieldwork rather than complicating it.

Regarding your concerns about connectivity: Filio is built to work offline. Once you are signed in, you can capture photos without any cell service. Your media is stored securely on your device and will automatically sync once you’re back in range. We highly recommend using the app over your phone's camera to ensure all vital GPS metadata is preserved and organized.

To resolve the crashes and sign-in issues, please update to version 4.5.2. You can also optimize app performance by ‘Remove synced media’ to one or two weeks; this prevents local storage from slowing down your hardware.

Finally, we have improved the photo log process. Our new Gallery tab now lets you view images at full size before you select them, making it much easier to manage documentation for large projects.

We would love for you to give the updated version a try. Please reach out to us if we can help you navigate these new features.

"Professional Final Reports and Versatile Real-Time Editing with Filio"
5/5
What do you like best about Filio?

The final report is excellent and adds a professional touch to our reports that our competitors are missing. Filio also makes it extremely easy to edit images and create figures in real time on whatever device you're using. It has been very easy to integrate into our company. All of our staff, including those who are not tech-savvy, find it very easy to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Filio?

There have been no downsides to using Filio. The few times we have had an issue, the issue has been addressed immediately. The customer service is outstanding. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from June Zheng of Filio

Thank you for your great feedback! We are glad Filio's real-time collaboration and professional reports provide your firm with a competitive edge. We take great pride in our outstanding customer service and are always here to ensure your team's success.

"Effective Tool for Structured and Visual Disaster Field Documentation"
5/5
What do you like best about Filio?

What I like most about Filio is how easy it makes it to document field observations in a structured, visual way. During disaster fieldwork, the app let me capture photos, videos, and site conditions along with the surrounding context, which helped preserve details that often get lost with handwritten notes. The interface feels intuitive, and it was straightforward to organize observations in real time, even while moving between different affected locations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Filio?

One limitation I noticed is that managing large media files requires careful planning during fieldwork. In areas with poor network connectivity, syncing data was sometimes slow, so uploads often had to be completed later. A more robust offline workflow and improved storage management options would make the field experience smoother. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from June Zheng of Filio

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with Filio. We are glad it helped you document and communicate field conditions more clearly.

"Seamless Data Collection and Reporting Tool"
5/5
What do you like best about Filio?

I love the ease of use with Filio. It's really easy to get in and start using it without a steep learning curve since it functions much like a phone camera, so there's no special learning needed. I also find the tags extremely helpful, being able to create pretty much endless tags and organize photographs in the field. This makes it easy to go back and find the information when needed. Filio syncing to the cloud ensures I don't have to worry about losing photographs and it makes report writing much faster. By using Filio to take pictures, add notes, and comments in the field, it really shortens up the report writing process, effectively saving time and of course money. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Filio?

Filio is heavy on the battery, so sometimes we have to stop and charge our phone. The GPS tags aren't always as accurate as I would like, and it'd be nice to incorporate some sort of external hardware for more precise GPS locations. The initial setup process could be improved; it would be easier if the company could control the setup and send invitations via email. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from June Zheng of Filio

Hi Matthew, thank you so much for the wonderful review and for your continued support! It is always a pleasure working with you and your team, and we truly appreciate the constant feedback you provide to help us improve. We are thrilled to hear that the tags and cloud syncing are saving you so much time and money during report writing, that’s exactly the kind of impact we aim for. Regarding your feedback on battery life, GPS precision, and the invitation process: we are actually working on these areas right now. Thank you again for your valuable insights.

"Effortless Collaboration, But Needs UI Improvements"
5/5
What do you like best about Filio?

I use Filio mainly for a class reconnaissance trip, and it's extremely effective. I find the ability to compile photos from almost 30 to 40 people in one location all synchronized very cool. The low barrier to entry is something I really like; all you need is a phone. It's easy to just download the app and use it anywhere without needing any extra equipment or a laptop. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Filio?

The app does have some glitches and bugs. I think if the user interface was a little bit more natural and smoother, that would be a lot nicer. I personally had some issues with the verification with the OTP code. I think there should be a way to do this in a better way in terms of just verifying with the code. That was pretty annoying. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from June Zheng of Filio

Hi Anuj, thank you for your great feedback. I know how frustrating it is to deal with login loops when you are out in the field. I wanted to let you know that we are currently working on a smoother interface and a more reliable verification process. We really appreciate you helping us spot these. If you have any other suggestions, feel free to reach out at contact@filio.io anytime.

What do you dislike about Filio?

As I noticed problems or issues with the software, I have been able to bring it to the attention of the development team and I am amazed about how quickly it is resolved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from June Zheng of Filio

Hi there, thank you so much for this. Knowing that Filio is making a massive difference in your day-to-day time savings and handling those heavy photo and video transfers for your clients is exactly why we build this. We also really appreciate you flagging things for us along the way. Our development team loves working directly with engineers like you to push updates quickly, so keep the feedback coming. "Effortless Photo Management but Needs Stability Improvements"
4/5
What do you like best about Filio?

I like that I can add notes and keep locations with Filio. I don't have to worry about adding storage space to my phone because I can upload everything that I need straight to Filio with no problem. I can then create organized reports from that. It's really important to have details about what you're taking a photo of, so being able to do that all in one spot is really helpful. It's a lot easier to do it right then and there when taking the photo, as opposed to writing it in a note somewhere else and correlating it later. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Filio?

Sometimes the app crashes, which can be frustrating. Also, it can take a really long time to sync photos, and if you're taking a lot of photos on a site, it can only sync maybe five to ten at a time, or else the app will crash. So I think those are things that have caused some issues before. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from June Zheng of Filio

Hi Jordan, thank you for the detailed feedback! We are thrilled that Filio is helping you stay organized with geotagged photos and instant reporting without cluttering your phone’s storage.

Regarding the crashes and syncing speed you mentioned, we have a few tips to help you:

1. Release Device Memory: If your phone is holding onto too much data, it can cause the app to lag or crash. We recommend going to the Data Collector app Settings > Data and Storage and setting the 'Remove synced media' option to one or two weeks. This automatically clears local storage, allowing your phone’s hardware to run the app much faster.

2. Background Syncing (iOS vs. Android): If you are using an iPhone or iPad, iOS often restricts apps from syncing in the background once they are closed. This is a behavior for Apple devices. Android devices are typically less restricted.

3. Pro-Tip for Fast Syncing: We recommend leaving the Filio Data Collector app open for a few minutes after you finish taking photos. This gives the system time to push those media to the cloud. And also once you are back on a stable internet connection, the process will speed up significantly.

Please let our team know if you run into any issues, and feel free to reach out to us at contact@filio.io anytime.

"Streamlines Geotechnical Photo Management, Needs Better Organization for Large Reports"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Filio?

I like the built-in coordinate system and map that shows all previously completed projects. It's useful when I'm looking for something spatially. I also like being able to search by photo recognition key words. These features provide photo organization that, as a geotechnical team, are very useful to us and are not readily available when we store photos in simpler software. Filio helps streamline getting photo data from the field and prevents loss of information like missing photos or missing coordinates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Filio?

Organizing photos in photo reports, especially reports of a few hundred photos, could be improved. Maybe including the ability to assign each photo an index number rather than making drag/drop the primary organization method, or letting the user drag/drop with a photo label view instead of photo grid view. As of now, it takes a long time to move each photo through, and it can crash the program. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from June Zheng of Filio

Hi there! Thank you for the detailed feedback. We are glad the coordinate system and AI keyword search are helping your geotechnical team keep everything organized and spatially tracked.

Regarding those large reports: we hear you. Managing hundreds of photos via drag-and-drop can definitely be a chore. We actually have a major update specifically for large-scale reporting in the testing phase right now. It focuses on speed and stability for high-volume data, and we’ll definitely keep you updated as soon as it's ready for you to use.

Your ideas about index numbering and a list-style label view are fantastic suggestions that we'll share with our dev team. In the meantime, if the program ever hangs up while you are working on a report. Rest assured, every report you created/working on is saved in Report History. So you can easily jump back in and pick up exactly where you left off without losing any of your work.

"User-Friendly with Effective AI Features"
4/5
What do you like best about Filio?

I like that Filio is, for the most part, user-friendly. It's very easy to upload pictures when in the field, and it's also easy to pull up said pictures and your projects. I also like the AI feature that it has when it comes to labeling different pictures. I found that helpful. With Filio being user-friendly, it's very easy to find the projects. Unlike with different platforms where you spend a lot of time just trying to find the project or the folder or the file that you're looking for, with Filio, it's much easier to track down all these different files because they're in a straightforward and simple location that's easy to find. The AI labeling is helpful because it saves me time since I don't have to take that time to label everything myself, and if I do need to change the AI labels, it's much easier to just change or edit those labels rather than having to rewrite my own entirely. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Filio?

One thing that I find frustrating is I can't really work in Filio and have the screen split on my laptop. When I try to split my screen, I don't have all the information there, which can be really frustrating when I'm trying to copy information from Filio into a different platform like Excel. So I find that to be frustrating that when I then tried to split my screen, the entire Filio screen changes. And it doesn't show all the information anymore. "Streamlines Photo Management for Remote Teams"
5/5
What do you like best about Filio?

I really like the AI tagging feature in Filio because it's incredibly useful for organizing and filtering photos. It's great to be able to just type a tag and automatically filter out relevant images, which makes the whole process faster. Additionally, the plan view feature is really useful. It allows me to know exactly where a photo was taken and in what direction, which is crucial when working remotely. Filio also helps us organize photos based on project numbers, which is very helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Filio?

We work from a different country, not the US, and it's really helpful if we can access the Filio website from other countries as well. Each time, we have to log in using a VPN, and for some reason, it slows down the browsing experience a bit. Another thing that could be improved is the preview feature of photos. Sometimes there will be thousands of photos, and we won't have time to go through all of them one by one as a large image. If there's a way to make thumbnails bigger or review multiple photos at once by scrolling through all of them, that would be very useful. Initially, there was no way for the team to give access to all folders to my email address. They had to do it individually, which could be improved by allowing access to all folders at once to a particular email address. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
