"Flexible, Customizable Data Governance with Strong ERP Integration"
5/5
What do you like best about EBX?

What I like most about ON EBX is the flexibility it provides for putting a data governance strategy into practice. Its customizable workflows, permissions, and perspectives make it possible to tailor the platform to different business roles and processes.

For instance, workflows can guide users through data creation, review, and approval, helping ensure that changes follow the agreed governance process. Role-based permissions clarify who can view, edit, or approve data, while perspectives give each user group a focused view of the information and actions that matter most for their role.

I also appreciate its ability to integrate with ERP systems and other applications. This lets us manage and govern master data in EBX while still making it available where it’s needed, especially when multiple systems depend on the same governed data.

Once the data model, workflows, and user views are configured properly, the platform is straightforward for business users to navigate and use in day-to-day work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about EBX?

One area that could be improved is the initial configuration experience. While ON EBX can be straightforward for business users once everything is in place, setting up the data model, workflows, permissions, and perspectives takes time and often requires solid technical knowledge.

More guided configuration options, along with practical end-to-end examples, would help teams ramp up faster and make it easier to turn governance requirements into a working solution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"EBX Delivers Production-Ready MDM and Strong Data Governance in Hours"
5/5
What do you like best about EBX?

The EBX MDM platform can deliver a simple, production-ready solution in a matter of hours once the infrastructure is set up. I’ve implemented strong data governance for business-critical data that was previously stored in a spreadsheet, moving it into EBX in just a few hours and enabling a truly collaborative, controlled data stewardship process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about EBX?

It can be difficult to diagnose performance issues without detailed knowledge of the architecture. Adding performance capture—such as Prometheus—would make it easier to identify bottlenecks and support optimisation of the solution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"EBX Delivers Flexible Data Modeling and Mature Governance at Scale"
5/5
What do you like best about EBX?

• The data model flexibility is excellent — EBX lets you design complex hierarchical and relational data models without fighting the tool, which matters enormously in insurance and other domains with intricate party/location relationships.

• Workflow and data governance capabilities are mature: role-based validation circuits, permissions, and audit trails make it straightforward to enforce data stewardship at scale.

• The REST and SQL access layers give strong flexibility for integration — REST for transactional writes, SQL for bulk reads — which has made it easy to build custom tooling and even AI agent layers (MCP-based) on top of EBX.

• Match & merge functionality handles duplicate detection and consolidation well, even across large, messy legacy datasets migrated from older MDM systems.

• Strong support for multi-domain MDM, so the same platform scales from Party MDM to Reference Data and beyond without needing a different tool.

• Strong customization capabilities through proprietary scripting and Java API Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about EBX?

• The learning curve is real — EBX’s data modeling and workflow configuration require solid onboarding investment before teams are productive.

• UI customization, while powerful, can require significant technical effort for non-standard use cases.

• Documentation for advanced REST/SQL integration patterns could be more detaile Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Versatile, Flexible Data Management with Multilanguage Support"
5/5
What do you like best about EBX?

It is very versatile, you can manage not just masterdata, but metadata and reference data as well. It is very flexible to solve and model almost any use case and has multilanguage support too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about EBX?

Writing performance and exploitation of the data is a common struggle when big volumes and relationships come in to play, but has improved in recent versions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"EBX: Flexible MDM with Great Data Modeling, Governance, and Solid Performance"
5/5
What do you like best about EBX?

It's one of the most flexible MDM tools I've ever used.

The UI/UX around data modeling is great. It enables you to create a model for any domain you need - it's not fixed to just customer, business partner, or something like that. For example, we used it to support our asset domain and then used the stellar hierarchy management capabilities to build a full asset hierarchy. And then used the cross domain capabilities to link it to financial hierarchies and suppliers. FWIW, the models are super easy to change and was super fast.

Of course, governance was a big part of this as well. We created a whole slew of stewardship workflows to make sure our data was kept clean. Integration was likewise super easy and performance was solid.

I will point out that we tied this into our context layer for agentic AI. I don't know how one would get AI Agents to work without the data from an MDM system like EBX.

Pricing for us was good - not really out of the league of other products. Support from the company was decent as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about EBX?

It's almost too flexible. Once the biz team saw the kinds of data that could be stored in EBX they wanted to stuck all kind of master data in there. It's good, but some things really should be in SAP or Saleforce.

Also, the product does have a learning curve especialy around some of the more complex capabilities like match-merge. It takes time to learn how to use it effectively. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Truly Open MDM Platform with Powerful Match/Merge and Data Quality Add-Ons"
5/5
What do you like best about EBX?

What I like best about ON EBX is that it's a truly open platform - our requirements shape the MDM solution, not the other way around. Add-ons like Match/Merge and Data Quality makes it easy to maintain data integrity and profile our data effectively. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about EBX?

I find the features helpful and API easy to work with, at the moment I am happy with product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
