"Real-Time Journey Orchestration That Connects Strategy to Execution"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Dynamics 365 Marketing?

The most impressive aspect of Dynamics 365 Marketing is how effectively it bridges the gap between high-level creative strategy and granular execution. As an advertiser, I find the real-time journey orchestration to be a genuine game changer; it lets us trigger personalized experiences based on immediate customer actions, instead of relying on static, scheduled blasts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Dynamics 365 Marketing?

While Dynamics 365 Marketing integrates well within the Microsoft ecosystem, it has some real drawbacks for an agile advertising team. The biggest hurdle is the steep learning curve paired with a somewhat clunky user interface. Compared with some purpose-built competitor platforms, the UI can feel heavy and overly complex, often requiring too many clicks just to make simple campaign adjustments.

Another significant downside is performance. When I’m managing large audience segments or building complex, multi-tiered customer journeys, the system can occasionally lag. That’s especially frustrating when working against tight campaign launch windows, because it makes rapid experimentation and quick iterations much harder to execute.

On top of that, the native design tools for emails and landing pages don’t offer the level of creative flexibility advertisers typically want. It’s easy to hit a wall with layout customization unless you bring in technical support to write custom code. Overall, it’s not a “plug-and-play” solution: the heavy configuration and strict governance requirements slow down our time-to-market. In the end, it often feels more like a rigid enterprise data management tool than an intuitive, marketer-first creative platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful Real-Time Journeys with Some Complexity"
4/5
What do you like best about Dynamics 365 Marketing?

I like using Dynamics 365 Marketing as our central customer journey orchestration engine to unify our sales and marketing data into a single platform. It serves as our tool for omni-channel automation, lead scoring, and event management. The powerful 'Real-Time' Journeys feature stands out for me. I can build complex, branching customer journeys that respond in the moment, which makes the marketing feel personal rather than automated. For instance, if a customer checks into a physical event or abandons a webinar registration, the system can instantly trigger a personalized SMS or email. Additionally, the initial technical setup was straightforward, and the first steps of configuration were easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Dynamics 365 Marketing?

While the interface is getting better, it is still a 'beast' of a system. The sheer number of menus, settings, and power user features are overwhelming. It isn't a tool you can just pick up and play. Configuring it to match our specific business logic required a significant time investment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Efficient Content Creation, Needs Easier Navigation"
3/5
What do you like best about Dynamics 365 Marketing?

I like that Dynamics 365 Marketing is provisioned with templates, which makes it easy for me not to start from scratch when creating my content. I also appreciate the Microsoft Copilot feature that helps enhance the content I'm creating by aligning the tone of voice with the brand. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Dynamics 365 Marketing?

Sometimes it's a bit clunky with having to navigate to where the features are. That's one headache I always have. I try to remember what certain items I use probably to create something. I usually would forget the parts to it. So, I would say simplify the menus or simplify the features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful Integration with Room for UI Improvement"
4/5
What do you like best about Dynamics 365 Marketing?

I really like Dynamics 365 Marketing for its deep integration and seamless operation within the broader Microsoft ecosystem, which provides a unified view of the customer. It allows marketing, sales, and service teams to work cohesively with real-time customer data. The seamless lead flow from marketing to sales, alongside integration with Microsoft Teams, Power BI, and Outlook, really improves collaboration and reporting. I also appreciate its robust automation capabilities, which reduce manual work through automated customer journeys managing emails and follow-ups without constant intervention. The trigger-based workflows are responsive to customer actions, and event communications run efficiently with minimal setup. Furthermore, its personalization capabilities stand out by driving engagement through dynamic content adapting to customer data and segmentation that allows for highly targeted communication. Customer journeys evolve in real time, ensuring communications are relevant and compliant. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Dynamics 365 Marketing?

While Dynamics 365 Marketing is a powerful platform, there are a few areas where it could be improved. Some challenges we’ve experienced include a steep learning curve for new users - the platform is feature-rich, but that also makes onboarding more complex. Non-technical or first-time marketing automation users may require training to use it effectively. The user interface can feel complex at times, with certain workflows and configurations not always being intuitive, especially when setting up advanced customer journeys or segmentation logic. We also face performance issues with large datasets; when working with very large segments or complex journeys, load times and processing can occasionally be slow. Lastly, there is limited flexibility in email and landing page design; while the built-in designers are functional, they are not as flexible or intuitive as some best-of-breed marketing automation tools, especially for highly creative campaigns. "Streamlined Marketing & Sales Alignment, But Learn the Curves"
4/5
What do you like best about Dynamics 365 Marketing?

I really enjoy the customer journey builder. It’s visual and simple to use, so I can see exactly how a lead moves from the first interaction to follow-up emails and handoff to sales. The email designer is another feature I like—it’s flexible enough to create professional emails without needing design skills. The segmentation is also a big plus. Being able to target the right audience based on real data helps keep communication relevant and avoids sending unnecessary messages. Finally, the tight integration with Dynamics 365 Sales is something I find especially valuable. It keeps marketing and sales aligned and gives a clear view of how leads are engaging before they’re passed on. I also like how well it handles data and insights. Having engagement data, lead activity, and campaign performance tied directly to the CRM makes it much easier to understand what’s actually driving results. It feels more practical than pulling reports from different systems and trying to connect the dots. Another plus is scalability. Whether you’re running a small campaign or multiple journeys at once, the platform handles growth without feeling cluttered or overwhelming. Overall, it works especially well for teams that want structure, visibility, and better alignment between marketing and sales. It feels like a tool that supports real-world marketing needs rather than adding extra complexity. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Dynamics 365 Marketing?

The email and journey setup can be a bit slow, especially with complex automations, and small changes take longer to publish or test. Customization and flexibility are somewhat limited, with certain layouts, templates, or rules feeling restrictive compared to other tools. Reporting could be more user-friendly, as creating custom reports or specific insights sometimes requires extra steps or technical help. The initial setup was also challenging, particularly for team members new to Dynamics 365, and it wasn't a 'plug and play' experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Robust CRM Integration, Sluggish Performance"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Dynamics 365 Marketing?

I really appreciate the sense of control Dynamics 365 Marketing provides once everything is set up. Campaigns don’t feel disconnected or guess-based and I can trust the data feeding journeys and segments, which makes launches calmer and follow-ups relevant. The reporting consistency is another highlight for me, as campaign performance, contact activity and sales outcomes line up without extra effort, saving time and keeping marketing and sales aligned.I also like that keeping everything within the same ecosystem reduced manual exports and made campaign performance easier to tie back to actual revenue. What do you dislike about Dynamics 365 Marketing?

Speed is the biggest pain point. Simple edits to journeys or emails take more steps than expected and the interface slows down with larger segments. When timelines are tight,it feels heavier than it should and makes quick experimentation harder. When changes come in late, the slower load times and extra clicks add friction. Even small tweaks eat into launch windows.Faster journey loading,a lighter editor and better performance on large segments would make day-to-day work far more responsive. "Efficient Workflow, Needs Easier Onboarding"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Dynamics 365 Marketing?

I appreciate Dynamics 365 Marketing for its well-organized platform that brings together email campaigns, customer journeys, and lead workflows in one place. The features are easy to understand after exploring the interface, even though it might seem a bit technical initially. The CRM integration works smoothly, and the automation tools feel strong. The way everything stays connected, linking email campaigns, customer data, and automation tools, makes the workflow feel smooth and efficient. It reduces extra steps, saves time, and helps in planning campaigns, tracking responses, and managing leads without confusion. I also like that the interface keeps things structured, making it easier to find what I need without getting lost. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Dynamics 365 Marketing?

Some parts feel a bit complex at the beginning, especially when setting up campaigns or automations for the first time. It could be more beginner-friendly with clearer guidance. Also, a few tools take time to load, so smoother performance would make the experience even better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
