What do you like best about Dotdigital?

Dotdigital has a great and intuitive platform that I've been using for many years. It has grown and evolved over time, with new features, but continues to be very user friendly. I love how the platform can integrate easily with our website, allowing data to flow in making for smart segmentation and automation. We've seen great ROI on our abandoned basket emails, delivering great engagement and conversion rates. The support teams behind the platform have also been exceptional. We've been put on a plan that has helped us scale the usage as we've scaled in incremental fashion, rather than spilling over and having to pay for a bigger plan than is required at that time. The AI tools inside the platform via WinstonAI has been extremely helpful too, making great suggestions to subject lines and content which has improved open rate and engagement. What do you dislike about Dotdigital?

I'm not overly keen on is the ecommerce blocks. While the idea behind them is great. The styling leaves a lot to be desired and I tend not to use them as a result. What do you like best about Dotdigital?

I like how easy Dotdigital is to use. I've never had a CRM manager that can do segmentation that quickly. I appreciate how fast it is to segment for new audiences without hassle. It's convenient to look at who clicked or opened a certain campaign and add a persona or even give them purposes right out of the box. The initial setup was very simple and quick to achieve, with no problems, and I think it was switched over in one afternoon. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Dotdigital?

I think the key improvement is the testing tool. You just can't miss it in a test send. It's really hard to edit that. That usually looks quite difficult. It'd be great to have a way for users to see emails in Dotdigital. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Dotdigital?

Strong reporting and analytics that are auto generated for each campaign send - the real-time analytics make it easy to see which automations are driving revenue and where customers are dropping off.

Instead of building multiple versions of the same email, I can tailor sections of content based on customer behaviour using in-built tools.

What do you dislike about Dotdigital?

One limitation I’ve experienced with Dotdigital is around advanced personalisation and segmentation. While the platform offers basic behavioural targeting and dynamic content, creating highly specific audiences often requires a lot of manual work outside the platform. What do you like best about Dotdigital?

Dotdigital offers a comprehensive digital marketing solution. We regularly make use of the form/survey function as well as the mailing facility.

We have an integration with our CMS system which helps use keep our distribution lists up to date and ensure we reach our audience effectively.

Being able to measure the performance of mailouts helps us to improve our messaging.

We have only made limited use of the AI functionality, but are keen to explore more, especially around its ability to provide a more consistent tone of voice across our communications.

What do you dislike about Dotdigital?

We have been using Dotdigital for 10 years now and are generally very pleased with the service. We are aware that we are probably not making the most of the service, but have spoken to our account manager (Sean) who is keen to help us more aware of what we can do and help us a develop an effective strategy going forward. What do you like best about Dotdigital?

What I like most is how simple it is to create even complex customer journeys and automation workflows using their intuitive drag-and-drop tile system. The visual interface makes it easy to build, edit, and understand sophisticated workflows without needing technical expertise.

Another feature I particularly appreciate is the reporting and workflow visualization. Being able to clearly see how contacts move through each stage of a journey makes performance analysis straightforward and helps identify opportunities for optimisation.

Another aspect I really value is the support and learning resources available. Dotdigital has an extensive library of online guides, tutorials, and videos that make it easy to learn new features and find answers quickly. In most cases, I've been able to find exactly what I need through their documentation.

On the occasions when I couldn't find the answer myself, the live chat support has always been readily available. Every time I've contacted the support team, they've been knowledgeable, responsive, and able to resolve my issue on the first interaction. What do you dislike about Dotdigital?

One area that could be improved is the contact limit structure. Our business generates a high volume of one-time purchasers, which means our contact database grows quickly. We regularly find ourselves reaching the contact limit, leaving us with the choice of either increasing our subscription costs to accommodate more contacts or spending time removing older contacts from the platform. What I like most is how intuitive yet powerful the automated programs are. Setting up complex, multi-channel customer journeys is incredibly straightforward. The drag-and-drop builder saves a massive amount of time, and the ability to seamlessly manage marketing preferences in bulk makes maintaining database hygiene effortless. The two main areas for improvement are background processing speeds. Program segmentation updates can be slow to process, meaning changes don't always reflect in real-time. Additionally, copying existing email campaigns frequently hangs or takes a bit too long to duplicate, which adds minor friction to an otherwise smooth daily workflow. What do you like best about Dotdigital?

The interface is simple and easy to use, without being overly restrictive in what you can do. Integrations run smoothly and are straightforward to set up. All of this comes at a reasonable price, while still maintaining good platform speed. The support team is quick to respond and resolve questions, and the live chat feature means they’re always reachable. What do you like best about Dotdigital?

I love how easy it is to create highly designed, technical emails without having to mess around with code. From the first time I used it, I found the editor brilliant, and it completely changed how I design and build emails. I can integrate Nifty Images elements easily to add creative, dynamic touches, and using the dynamic blocks within the editor is fantastic too.

It’s also great how straightforward it is to train other team members on the platform thanks to its intuitive UI/UX. The collaboration features for email campaigns, forms, and more are really beneficial for efficiency.

Since using Dotdigital, the speed at which we can turnaround campaigns for clients has improved massively, allowing us to continue improving and building the best campaigns possible. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Dotdigital?

Sometimes there are glitches that halt my work. For example, a campaign won’t save for an unknown reason, or images won’t upload to the image bank—again, with no explanation for why this happens.

There have also been times when a couple of team members are in the same campaign at the same time, and one person ends up saving over the other’s progress, which causes work to be lost. What do you like best about Dotdigital?

Enterprise scalability with built-in integrations as well as API extensibility. The multi-channel capabilities, segmentation, and automation interfaces really make DotDigital a fantastic CRM system. The team is solution-oriented and the platform reflects that. Plus, the white glove support is unparalleled with BOTH AI and real humans available to jump in and help. What do you dislike about Dotdigital?

Lack of mobile app, or mobile browser capabilities for last-minute fixes, or checking in on analytics. It would also be great if a contact record could have a unique contact ID that has email, phone or other records attached, rather than have the email or phone be a unique identifier for each contact. What do you like best about Dotdigital?

All the different options available to you & the ease of use. The drag and drop interface for example has saved me a lot of time each week.

They also add in a lot of integrations consistently, making sure the platform is up to date with new marketing trends.

What do you dislike about Dotdigital?

One thing I would say I dislike is only having 150 campaigns available in one page n the reports section. When it comes to reporting on overall open rates etc, and there's more than 150 emails sent in a date range, it can be annoying. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
