"Fantastic Database Analysis tool"
5/5
What do you like best about SolarWinds Database Observability?

DPA is absolutely essential for any business using SQL Servers.

It has tools that help you quickly determine the root cause of issues of what happened at a certain time as it keeps a history.

It features a great alert system as well for when something is going wrong.

We often use it to analyze over 60 production databases.

It can assist in providing possible solutions on indexes for some problematic queries.

All of the above is easy to use and quick to get.

Customer support is fantastic and their personnel has only been helpful when I needed them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SolarWinds Database Observability?

It is not useful to analyze an immediate occurring problem as you have to wait a bit till the data is logged and displayed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Performance Monitoring for SQL Servers That Works superb."
5/5
What do you like best about SolarWinds Database Observability?

I am very good at monitoring SQL Server. I can improve the efficiency of my database by keeping track of my progress in real time. For me it was how simple it was to replace the panels and use overall. Finding and fixing speed issues is made much easier with our systems enhanced notifications. By conducting thorough study and providing detailed reports, I was able to enhance query performance and optimise resource utilisation with my databases. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SolarWinds Database Observability?

For me as a new user, setting up more advanced features might take some longer. I feel that the price is way too high for me and other individuals and small companies but the features are like tasty donuts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The best tool to monitor SQL servers"
4.5/5
What do you like best about SolarWinds Database Observability?

SQL Sentry is truly one centralized solution where you can monitor all SQL server performance, issues, logs, and reports.

The performance metrics SQL Sentry provide is not just bar graph like the other tools display, it is calculated value that shows the true status of the SQL server.

When there is an issue to troubleshoot such as deadlock, you don't need another tool to get the plan or script to analyze, all required information is on one screen. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SolarWinds Database Observability?

Sometimes, when there is a WMI issue, it stops working and doesn't get refreshed even after WMI issue is fixed.

It would be better to add refresh button on the server level. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Good overview of what actually happens on the SQL Server instance"
4/5
What do you like best about SolarWinds Database Observability?

If you don't know why the SQL server is busy or when what happened and why, Sentry One can help.

Above all, it is important to be able to carry out analyses for past problems. Because only if the past can be analysed precisely is there a chance of avoiding it in the future.

PRO:

+ Overview

+ Jump to Top SQL" analysis

+ Monitoring of limit values, very good specifications e.g. CPU 30 min > 90% Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SolarWinds Database Observability?

CONS:

- Costs relatively high

- Calendar display and filter options are cumbersome and outdated Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
