DPA is a great tool for any database administrator. It helps you have a simple oversight of all your databases and highlights possible problems or performances issues, that could be affecting the end user. It doesn't feel like an independent module and requires SAM to get full use out of it. The cost of licensing could be cheaper, especially when you need other modules to really utilise it fully. If you have felt like you're blind to DB performance issues, DB problems or anything else then this product will change the way you work. DBA lacks search capability at the moment and this would be something that would improve it, if it was implemented. It would also be nice if it was closer integrated with the rest of the solarwinds platforms, as it feels like a separate product entirely at times, though this isn't that big a deal. One great thing that Solarwinds did was to make the User Interface very simple and quick. In many other Monitoring tools, the transaction time is long and it doesn't give us real-time information. With Solarwinds Database performance Analyzer the information is real-time and we can inform the Database admins to take action as soon as the alert comes in.
