Brightspace has a great deal of options through Creative +, and courses can be designed to be engaging. I absolutely love the ability to use HTML embeds in the content area allowing the creation of OER content. We moved from Blackboard to Brightspace, and I cannot say enough good things about Jackie the trainer. She is a former professor and really helped our staff and faculty learn the tools. Be careful of the wording used by D2L during the RFP process. They do not call things the same thing as you might be call them. Also, they are not forthcoming about prices for add-on products or fees. While they think this is a good tactic because it makes the RFP price lower, it shows that they do not really understand higher education funding cycles. We can't go to bat for more money in the middle of a fiscal year. We've told them this; others have told them this and they simply refuse to change their process. So, be sure to ask all the questions and about all hidden products and fees during your RFP process.
