Comet is an essential solution in our company. It allows us to keep our data under protection; it guarantees the operation of our company in case of any chaos; that is, it provides us with access to backup copies of our data quickly and safely.

Its backup differs from other software because it is not limited to backup but also guarantees the restoration of that valuable information, whether it is servers, data, files and more.

We have experimented with other backup software, which always has disadvantages. Comet has generated a pleasant and rewarding experience for us from the first moment; its installation is simple, and its support team is always attentive and available for any questions.

I like that it is available for any operating system, such as Windows and Linux, Linux is almost always left behind by software. Still, Comet has chosen to have it, which is an excellent benefit since not all users have Windows.

Comet provides a friendly, versatile and very easy-to-use interface where it is possible to obtain visibility of all our storage; this helps us better manage and save time. It also provides us with information regarding the status of our equipment so that they always work correctly. For example, some equipment had lost connection, but Comet notified us quickly, and we were able to solve this in a short period.

With Comet, we guarantee the protection of our data and that of our clientele or our remote workforce and likewise, we maintain order in each backup copy made; that is, it does not allow data to be saved if they are already loaded, which keeps us space and allows to put aside the duplication of these. Comet has done a magnificent job; its operation is clean, and its support team is qualified; we have had some questions, and their responses have been immediate, but I would like their versions always to be compatible so that we can always maintain the same level of functionality and updated features since once your version is updated, there is no way to access the previous version. I have had issues on my end and the support given seems to work just perfectly. It is done through a ticket system where you can upload pics and problems. Seems to work just fine so far. I have about 8 Businesses on it as I am a MSP. I do regular integrity checks to ensure everything works. They have a system for adding features that is kind of cool where you can click and promote an Idea. in short, these problems will meet any need that you require! There is one thing that is being addressed as I type this. They are creating a VM backup where you can go into the backup and recover individual files, when that happens, I can finally close all my Veemn accounts.

Comet Backup offers a versatile dashboard interface that portrays visibility on various storage buckets, users, devices and boosters. It periodically checks the status of our devices and provides real-time notifications in case the device becomes outdated or offline. We can conveniently perform deduplicate backups from multiple accounts which can be mapped to a specific storage vault. We can also prevent the visibility of protected items once we categorize them under Private view. This feature is helpful as we work in a collaborative team environment where we need to maintain access privileges at granular levels. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

One drawback encountered is as we upgrade our Comet version, we can't revert back as downgrade compatibility isn't present at the moment. Hence, we need to evaluate the versions properly and determine before each version upgrade. It would be nice to have a downgrade functionality as our business use cases change from time to time. Comet has been an absolutely wonderful tool to use. It gives me control over what data I backup, how and when I back it up and where I back it up. I've tried backup solutions from other groups and, while they offered a lot of features, they ended up being to cost prohibitive in many cases. Only thing I don't like about Comet (and this is super trivial) is the fact that I have to host my own control server. This creates one more server for me to maintain. On the flip side, I have complete control of the control server which provides me with an extra layer of security as I determine how to secure it. Comet Backup is easy to deploy, constantly updated by the development team, and the support is top notch. Even the sales team is great - it was a low pressure introduction to what Comet Backup could do, and the scheduled follow up calls from the sales team answered questions I only expected to be answered by the support staff. Everyone at Comet Backup has a solid understanding of the product and its why I switched from another product to Comet Backup.

I also really love the API integration, and with some time and effort I was able to integrate it into my RMM with little issue and outstanding results.

So far, I have zero complaints about Comet backup. I've been using it for over six months, and there's nothing to gripe about. It just works!
