5/5

One of the best OS ever. It's so simple and easy to use. Not draining the computer's hardware and only using what you need precisely. In addition to that working great if you have a Google environment because it is made for Google Products. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"One of the fastest browsers"

5/5

What do you like best about Chromium OS?

I really like the fact that it is almost faster than all browsers, which is quite a reasonable experience when you want to access your data quickly or search for something. On the other hand, it is very simple, which anyone can use easily or get familiar with in one go. For programmers or computer gurus like me, it has a vast library of extensions and it's open-source software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Chromium OS?

Well, I don't really like the fact that it consumes a high portion of the computer's RAM, which can make it difficult to run other applications in parallel. On the other hand, there are no automatic updates, which is a must for all programs in my opinion. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Chromium OS:

If you would like to have a browser or OS that can assist you in finding your answers in the fastest way, or you would like something simple and easy to use, Chromium OS would be one of the best choices for you or your company if you intend to make this operating system the base operating system at your company. It's worth giving a chance to see its beautiful features, and it gets developed faster as it is an open-source technology and anyone can contribute. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Chromium OS solving and how is that benefiting you?

I usually use Chromium OS when I need to do something fast and I don't have any parallel tasks to do. Its simplicity and the fact that it is one of the fastest operating systems provide a high-quality experience, and I am comfortable doing it in one go. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Chromium OS Review: Pros and Cons"

3.5/5

What do you like best about Chromium OS?

It is light i.e. uses and requires comparatively less advanced hardware or computational resources, it is fast, launches quickly, is easy to use, and has a very user-friendly interface, doesn't drain the data pack by downloading unnecessary background apps or data, houses most of the basic necessities as offered by other browsers, easy to download and install, pretty similar to Google Chrome Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Chromium OS?

There are some bugs but unfortunately, they render many basic and necessary functionalities unusable. In the version that I m using now (Sep 20, 2020), I can not login into the browser to sync my user data and preferences, something that other browsers offer and which can be highly useful in syn user data and setting in case there is a fresh installation of windows/ browser. I am unable to play videos in most of the websites apart from youtube, including Facebook, Instagram, etc. Hence, I have to, unfortunately, copy the post/video link from fb and paste it in another browser to watch the video. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Chromium OS:

While google chrome is a good solution for someone searching for a fast and light browser, Chromium OS is even faster and lighter. I have used both simultaneously and I can approve that Chromium is the best fit for a computer with limited RAM or hardware resources. It offers almost all the basic functionalities along with the chrome web store. However, there a few glitches that may pose trouble. I found 2 such major glitches: error in logging into the browser because of which, you won't be able to restore your settings and data if you reinstall your system; the second bug is in the browser that poses problems in playing videos. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Chromium OS solving and how is that benefiting you?

The major problem I am solving is running multiple tabs in a browser in a laptop with poor hardware resources, especially low ram, in Windows 10. I switched to Chromium OS as my laptop used to frequently hang while opening multiple tabs in other browsers like google chrome or the earlier versions of edge. It has nearly all the benefits of google chrome while it offers a browser that doesn't pose trouble to my laptop hardware. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
