"Boldo: intuitive ergonomics and mature EAM for maps and capability models"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Boldo?

I particularly appreciate Boldo for its intuitive ergonomics, quick handling, and its ability to effectively formalize mappings and capability models. The solution offers a good level of flexibility thanks to its adaptable meta-model, while remaining simple to use for data management and structuring. Its competitive pricing, ease of management, and commitment to data sovereignty are also differentiating strengths. Although the platform is already efficient and supported by a responsive team, I believe there are still areas for improvement, notably strengthening reporting and analysis features, developing more advanced API/MCP integrations, adding native generative AI capabilities, and adapting the economic model to certain specific markets. These developments are already identified in the product roadmap, and I consider Boldo to be a mature, pragmatic, and particularly promising EAM solution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Boldo?

At my level of use, I have only noticed small graphical differences / resolution / zoom, in terms of display depending on the browser used. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Asset Modeling"
5/5
What do you like best about Boldo?

I use Boldo to model all the assets in my company because it allows me to tweak the model for my own purposes and the company's needs. It's particularly data-oriented, making it easy to align with company direction. I find the visuals really precise and easy to use, which is beneficial since a lot of people in the company rely on it. Boldo provides great insights into assets, including financial ones. I appreciate the ability to build dashboards. The UI helps in designing models and allows me to view the connections between tools and assets. Everything about it is easy to model and use. Additionally, the initial setup is ready to use due to the preconfigured meta model and the cloud application, which means I can start modeling right away. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Boldo?

Nothing. But I might need to use an addition drawing tool for elements not in the model. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"From static documentation to a living, shared repository"
5/5
What do you like best about Boldo?

What stands out is how quickly the platform becomes a common language between IT and business teams. The diagrams are readable by people who are not architects, which means decisions are discussed on the same map rather than on slides that age instantly. The flexibility of the model lets us start small and enrich the repository as adoption grows, without rebuilding everything. Onboarding new contributors takes days, not weeks, and the team behind Boldo is genuinely responsive when we raise a need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Boldo?

The product is young and still expanding, so a few advanced visualization and reporting options are not there yet. None of it blocks daily use, and the roadmap already covers most of what we have asked for, which is reassuring. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A Smart, Ambitious Team You Can Rely On for Complex Transformations"
5/5
What do you like best about Boldo?

Very smart team with the right ambition and understanding of how the entreprise architecture is evolving around the world. Really nice to share with them and rely on their incredible to support the complex upcoming transformation companies are about to meet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Boldo?

Nothing they’re great, of course they still have so much to bring with their ambitious roadmap but I’m pretty confident that they are going to be a non negotiable editor to consider on their business target Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Boldo: a promising and innovative enterprise architecture tool."
5/5
What do you like best about Boldo?

Boldo is an easy-to-access tool with a neat interface. I particularly appreciate the adaptable meta-model and the import assistant that facilitates the setup of mapping. The product roadmap is very interesting and the support is responsive. In summary, a very promising tool in the enterprise architecture tools market. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Boldo?

No major drawback in Boldo but I see some limitations in the current version:

- on the planning of the information system's evolution (TO BE).

- the creation of diagrams can be complex for displaying linked objects.

- No use of LLM as of 2026. (to come in the roadmap) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A flexible, well-supported EA tool that makes users want to come back"
5/5
What do you like best about Boldo?

Implementation

What stood out from day one is the flexibility of Boldo's metamodel. You can adapt object types, relationships, and views to match your actual architecture governance approach, rather than forcing your method into a rigid tool structure. Mapping our architecture layers and connecting them to governance views was straightforward, with no workarounds needed. The tool genuinely facilitates the method instead of constraining it.

Support

The support team is remarkably reactive. Response times are fast, and the ticketing system being integrated directly in-app removes all friction: you spot an issue, you raise it, you get an answer. No email threads, no external portal. It feels like a partnership rather than a support relationship.

User Adoption

This is where Boldo surprised us most. Adoption is often the silent killer of EA tools, but Boldo's outputs (diagrams, views, dashboards) are clean, readable, and genuinely useful to non-architects. People outside the architecture team started asking for access because the visualizations gave them something actionable. When a tool makes users want to open it again the next day, you know adoption won't be a problem.

Bottom line: If you are looking for an EA tool that adapts to your governance model, is backed by responsive support, and produces outputs that actually get used, Boldo is worth a serious look. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Boldo?

Learning curve on the metamodel. The flexibility is a strength, but it requires a bit of time to configure it well. It is best to have a clear governance owner on your side, it's easy to end up with an inconsistent structure. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Boldo: a promising and pragmatic EA tool"
5/5
What do you like best about Boldo?

Boldo stands out thanks to clear competitive advantages: an attractive price point and data sovereignty, which are key drivers. The tool is also easy to pick up, with a strong focus on real client use cases. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Boldo?

Nothing really stands out as a strong pain point.

The few areas for improvement I would mention are already well identified by the Boldo team in their product roadmap, mainly the absence of native LLM capabilities by early 2026 (planned in the roadmap). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive UX that makes metamodel tweaks and inventory imports fast"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Boldo?

The user experience with Boldo is great. I can easily adjust the metamodel and import inventories in just a few minutes. Creating views, graphs, and dashboards is very intuitive and straightforward. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Boldo?

Advanced features, such as calculated fields, aren’t available yet, although they’re on the roadmap. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Sylvain Melchior of Boldo

Many thanks for taking the time to share such positive and detailed feedback!

We’re especially glad to hear that Boldo makes metamodel adjustments, inventory imports, and the creation of views and dashboards intuitive and fast. This is exactly the experience we aim to deliver.

And indeed, calculated fields are currently in development. We’re working on calculations both at the individual asset level and across connected nodes and relationships, enabling large-scale use cases such as TCO modelling, security scoring, and sovereignty assessments.

This capability is planned for Q4 2026, and we look forward to making it available to you!

"Simple to Use, Yet Comprehensive for Enterprise Architecture Modeling"
5/5
What do you like best about Boldo?

Simple to use, yet very comprehensive for modeling any enterprise architecture. Clear roadmap. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Boldo?

It doesn't yet have all the connectors, but they are on the roadmap and frankly, not all of them are really necessary. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
