"Best Chromebook filtering solution we've found — 5 years and counting"
5/5
What do you like best about Blocksi?

Google Workspace integration, YouTube filtering, and automated safeguarding alerts. Deployed via Google Admin Console as a force-installed extension — students can't remove it from the device or their account — so filtering is always enforced without relying on students leaving it in place. What do you dislike about Blocksi?

The main sticking point for us as a UK school is the lack of European servers. Data processing currently happens outside the EU/UK, which adds complexity to our GDPR compliance paperwork and data processing agreements. It's manageable, but European server infrastructure would make things significantly simpler for schools in this region and remove a barrier for others considering adopting it. "Essential Chromebook Monitoring with Effective AI Safety and Exceptional Support"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Blocksi?

Pros:

Blocksi receives regular updates and has become an essential tool for our teachers to monitor student activity on 1:1 Chromebooks. The AI-driven student safety features are highly effective, consistently helping us flag potential student harm indicators early. From an admin perspective, deployment is incredibly intuitive, and the admin portal is clean and easy to navigate when adjusting granular settings. Roster integration with Google Workspace is seamless. Furthermore, Blocksi offers some of the most competitive pricing in the industry for this feature set. Finally, their support team is exceptional—tickets receive immediate feedback, and scheduling dedicated training sessions for our tech coaching team has been completely frictionless.

Cons:

Because the functionality relies on a Chrome extension, monitoring can occasionally be spotty if a device delays syncing or if students find edge-case workarounds, which is a common hurdle with extension-based architectures. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Real-Time Student Monitoring Made Easy"
4/5
What do you like best about Blocksi?

I really like being able to monitor my students’ online activity in real time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Blocksi?

My biggest “dislike” isn’t really a dislike at all. It’s more that I need additional training and experience with Blocksi to use it effectively. A representative told us he could provide a Zoom training for our school, and we still need to get that scheduled.

Right now, I haven’t been able to successfully restrict all branches of a specific site. For example, when I ask students to only be on IXL, it keeps them on the main login page, but as soon as they try to work on a skill, that page gets blocked because it uses a different web address.

I also need some additional training for monitoring past student activity (once the class period has ended). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Excellent Program for Easy Classroom Management"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Blocksi?

My favorite thing about Blocksi is the classroom management feature, with being able to block/kill websites and help manage what all students are doing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Blocksi?

While I am still training the AI Alerting system, I do not like how it picks up on several fields/searches that are not worthy of alerts in the least. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Blocksi?

I often run into issues with certain Chromebook filters. That said, they work hard to address and fix these problems in a timely manner. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Love the product - when it works"
2.5/5
What do you like best about Blocksi?

I really like the assessment mode in Blocksi because it allows me to lock kids onto certain sites, ensuring they can't navigate away. I also like their Policies feature where you can have categories of websites allowed or not allowed. Then, you don't have to know specific URLs in that case. I also like how easy it is to share websites with students so they don't have to type in a long URL. You can push it to them in that moment, rather than having to plan ahead to have on your Canvas page, for example. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Blocksi?

Unfortunately, Blocksi has not been reliable. We've had a lot of issues this past school year and the year before with Blocksi not working the way it's supposed to. It will not consistently load all of the students. One reason for this is because students have figured out a way to make Blocksi crash. For a while, Blocksi didn't believe us that it was because of the kids, and they thought it was other issues. They've been troubleshooting literally the whole school year, and it's been kind of a nightmare. A lot of teachers have been super frustrated and haven't been using it this year. Also, although I found the setup easy, some teachers didn't find it as easy. There's a little learning curve, and the setup of schedules could definitely be easier. "Perfect Cost-to-Feature Balance"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Blocksi?

For us, the cost-to-feature ratio strikes a perfect balance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Blocksi?

Sometimes the admin portal can be a bit buggy or slow, and in the past it has taken some time to troubleshoot more advanced issues with support, but nothing too crazy overall. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Misleading Updates and Missing Mac OS Integration Fix"
1.5/5
What do you like best about Blocksi?

Originally we felt like the product was going to be great until we realized the integration with Mac OS is just not there. They do ok with Chromebooks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Blocksi?

The misleading communication. We have been waiting for a fix for Mac OS filtering since October 2025. We keep getting we are working on it emails. Those emails come in two maybe three days later. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Blocksi?

How user friendly the basic tools are - they are all visible and there in plain view. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Blocksi?

Some of the more complicated features are laid out a bit more confusing than they could or should be. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Awesome Chromebook Integration for Our Chrome Fleet"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Blocksi?

The Chromebook integration is awesome! Blocksi makes it ready to deploy to our Chrome fleet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Blocksi?

We use a BYOD program in our Upper School. Is love to see an easier way to integrate Blocksi on those devices other than using Blocksi DNS. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
