"Good live Linux for security research"

What do you like best?

It is an arch based Linux , hence all the customisations are in your hand however everybody just loves flubox theme for environment. I have tried using it for pentesting and it gave very good results. With many powerful tools you will never regret using it. Fills all requirements for security tests with the tools it has and you can just get the results.

What do you dislike?

For a person not familiar with arch Linux it can be complex but only the persons with experience of arch use it. The community has not grown as it could have for BlackArch.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I used it for security analysis of some of the systems regularly. It looked a good Linux with so many tools in hand and the live CD does so much for us. All pentesting and rigorous analysis had been very easy.

"Definately a plus for those with excellent Linux skills and a need for penetration testing"

What do you like best?

The Net Installer allows you to build your installation from scratch. This allows you to limit the extra software required and run a lean, mean, pentest machine. I appreciate the responsiveness and lack of overhead resource usage. The ability to ignore the gui and operate 100% CLI is excellent.

What do you dislike?

There is currently nothing in the distro that I dislike. It is complete and straight-forward, though not for the uninitiated.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Ensure you are very familiar with linux and its various nuances. Though a GUI is available, knowledge of the CLI is a must to use this distro to the fullest.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

"Wide array of software, but disorganized"

What do you like best?

BlackArch has a lot of packages for security, and since it is based on Arch it means that it is easy to install and uninstall packages, and the AUR is available for additional software as well

What do you dislike?

Because of the wide array of packages and the lack of contributors, many BlackArch packages are outdated or buggy

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Blackarch was only tested and not deployed because of the outdated packages
