## BlackArch Reviews
  ### 1. One of the best Distro and Toolkit for penetration testing

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gianluca F. | CyberSecurity Analyst and Security Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 02, 2025

**What do you like best about BlackArch?**

This distribution features a continuously updated repository and is known for having one of the most extensive selections of pentesting tools. Built on Arch Linux, it delivers a lightweight and high-performance base, while its rolling release model guarantees immediate access to the newest packages.

**What do you dislike about BlackArch?**

This software is not particularly beginner-friendly, which is understandable given that it is based on Arch Linux. It has a steep learning curve and assumes that users already possess a solid grasp of Linux and command-line operations. While it is not entirely different from other distributions like ParrotOS or KaliLinux, it does demand considerable time and effort for initial configuration and setup tailored to your needs.

**What problems is BlackArch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This software eliminates the hassle of manually collecting and setting up thousands of tools for penetration testing. Since it is based on Arch Linux, I found it to be lightweight, fast, and extremely customizable. The biggest advantage is having access to more than 3,000 tools right out of the box. Additionally, the rolling release model ensures that all my utilities and libraries remain current with the latest security updates.

**What problems is BlackArch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used both BlackArch and KaliLinux to do Pen testing and to find other security vulnerabilities on the application we are building also on the Organisational Wifi/Network sytems

**What do you like best about BlackArch?**

Being Arch-based, you get full, fine-grain control of the system. I also believe the toolset extension is greater than other similar alternatives.

**What do you dislike about BlackArch?**

It lacks some documentation, and the learning curve can feel a bit steep for newcomers—more so than Kali, for example.

**What problems is BlackArch solving and how is that benefiting you?**
