## Mendeley Reviews
  ### 1. Effortless Organization and Customization for References

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Research | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Mendeley?**

I love that Mendeley is free and it's very easy to use. I can organize my citations in folders, and it's great that I can open each PDF to highlight and add notes. The customization options are a big plus too. I appreciate that it makes managing citation styles super simple, letting me change styles like AMA, APA, or Harvard with just a single click. The way it automatically updates citations in real time is very helpful.

**What do you dislike about Mendeley?**

I really would love to add the DOI numbers directly from the add-ons in Microsoft Word, not from the Mendeley app itself. I'd like to do this from the add-ons, like to add the reference that I would be searching directly from Microsoft Word.

**What problems is Mendeley solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mendeley automates citation style changes, saving me time and effort by avoiding manual editing. It updates references in real-time with seamless integration to Word, manages citation styles with one click, and handles DOI links to ensure accurate information.

  ### 2. Seamless, Organized Reference Management with Mendeley

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Muzammil Sharief D. | student, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Mendeley?**

I have used Mendeley extensively, and it has been very helpful for managing a large volume of journal articles, which is a daily necessity in research. It makes the overall process feel seamless, organized, and well structured.

**What do you dislike about Mendeley?**

Mendeley becomes very slow to respond while handling large libraries, and can sometimes be frustrating.

**What problems is Mendeley solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mendeley makes reference management effortless and well organized. I also appreciate its integration with MS Word for citations and bibliography generation, which helps keep my writing workflow smooth and consistent.

  ### 3. Best (in development) reference manager

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Óscar O. | Adjunct Professor, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Mendeley?**

I use it almost every day for reading and managing references. It is by far the most user-friendly reference manager I’ve encountered—intuitive to set up and immediately productive. The official website offers strong support, and the large, active community is always willing to help. It also allows for great flexibility: it’s easy to create a personalised workflow using various tools and approaches to suit the task at hand.

**What do you dislike about Mendeley?**

One limitation of the application is that it does not display all the folders or collections in which a reference is located. This can make organisation and navigation more difficult in complex projects. Additionally, the application would benefit from deeper integration with other productivity and knowledge management tools such as Obsidian or Notion, to better support connected and flexible research workflows.

**What problems is Mendeley solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It brings together most major research tasks in one place—from finding references, supporting reading and knowledge extraction, to assisting with writing and citation management.

  ### 6. The practical side of Mendeley: Between citations and synchronization.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2024

**What do you like best about Mendeley?**

Mendeley allows me to sync my libraries across multiple devices. I can annotate PDF files directly on the platform to either underline text, add margin notes or make comments that I can then use for reference in classes. One feature I take great advantage of is the Word add-in that makes it easy to insert citations and generate bibliographies automatically to save time.

**What do you dislike about Mendeley?**

Although Mendeley automates many tasks related to citation management, maximizing its usefulness requires a solid knowledge of academic citation standards. Without that foundation, it can be confusing.

**What problems is Mendeley solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mendeley is perfect for sorting, tagging, and searching references quickly and efficiently; it helps me create thematic folders to group relevant articles, and stored references from past projects are available for my future research.

**What do you like best about Mendeley?**

The add-ons for the web browser and Microsoft Word allow you to quickly add our references and automatically format the citations, as well as change the citation style at any time.

**What do you dislike about Mendeley?**

It presents problems when a new reference is added; you have to manually synchronize in the application, which takes time, and this is not done automatically.

**What problems is Mendeley solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Create work groups to build bibliographic reference bases

  ### 8. Best reference manger available

**What problems is Mendeley solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Med leg makes managing large numbers of references and citations a breeze, especially when coworking with others on a large literature review. **Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Swapnil B. | Data Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Mendeley?**

I have used Mendeley for my thesis, and it has been amazing to use. The multi-devices support along with syncing capabilities is efficient to work with. Integrations with MS Word is easy as well.

**What do you dislike about Mendeley?**

The refresh button needs to be pressed everytime you need to resync when using a live connection and the newly add doesnt directly show. Other than that its great!

**What problems is Mendeley solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used it for my Thesis. The main objective was to keep track of all the 100 + references for me. And the one-click bibliography is just cherry on top. The formatting of the references is just a click away!

  ### 11. Mendeley is a great software for researcher!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tareq M. | Organizing Secretary, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 30, 2022

**What do you like best about Mendeley?**

I can use Mendeley Desktop for citation management. Mendeley Reference Manager, Mendeley Web Importer, helps with citation and referencing. The best about Mendeley is it is easy to use. I can give a reference of the website with Mendeley Web Importer. It is the best feature of Mendeley because manual referencing is not hassle-free.

**What do you dislike about Mendeley?**

There is nothing that doesn't work well from my point of view. I think everything is okay. The user interface can be better. Besides, institutional access should be included in the software. If the search feature is added in Mendeley, it will be time efficient and more effective.

**What problems is Mendeley solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mendeley is a software for citation in research papers. It has numerous products- Mendeley Desktop, Mendeley Reference Manager, Mendeley Web Importer etc. Mendeley Desktop is very effective for citation management for literature review. It is far better than built-in software for citation in Word software. Mendeley Web Importer is also helpful in fetching data not only from scientific papers/books but also from the random webpage. It boosts my work efficiency. Thanks, Mendeley.

  ### 12. Excellent tool for academics

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rafael S. | PhD Grant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Mendeley?**

The program allows for the organization of text files and bibliographic references, enabling them to be used for various purposes, such as reading (annotations, markings, etc.) and also in information management for research.

**What do you dislike about Mendeley?**

Since March 2021, the mobile versions of the app (Android, iPhone, and iPadOS) have been removed, leaving only web access, which allows reading but does not work as well as the apps.

Since September 2022, the "Desktop" version of the app has been discontinued, not allowing downloads from the official site. Compared to the "Reference Manager" version, the versions are quite similar. The main advantages of the "Reference Manager" version are automatic cloud synchronization and a more modern and beautiful interface. However, this version still presents some issues such as: the keyword search tool does not work very well (sometimes I need to open Mendeley Desktop to locate a specific keyword); it no longer has the PDF organizer (an option from the Desktop version that allowed saving all PDFs added to the program in a specific folder, saving the files according to criteria such as author, year, journal, among others).

**What problems is Mendeley solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main use of Mendeley is for academic activities, having all my texts and/or references in one place helps in writing articles and other academic texts. The fact that the application accepts the import of references (BibTex; XML and RIS) also allows for bibliographic analysis and organization work.

  ### 13. Academics right hand.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andres Esteban R. | Student, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Mendeley?**

I like it has several citation styles, is also a reader, that I can organize my text books and the amount of time saved doing bibliographies is just huge! ALso I like the sync options with the desktop version.

**What do you dislike about Mendeley?**

When metadata on pdf is not accurate, and the software fills up that with random info, generating very weird citations, would like to have a easier way to fill correct data in documents.

**What problems is Mendeley solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Time, time, time, and saving me from stress, building a bibliography can be such a hassle when you're handling over 20 references, so the automatic resolution of that matter is not doubt the best deal this software can offer in my perspective.

  ### 14. Very helpful for those who do science writing

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Monet G. | Graduate research assistant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2021

**What do you like best about Mendeley?**

I like how you can automatically create works cited pages within a word document that you have cited using mendeley. In general, the best part of Mendeley is its integration with MS word.

**What do you dislike about Mendeley?**

Sometimes, syncing between devices is imperfect. As of 2022, they have stopped supporting the desktop application and mobile app, as a result, this will likely result in me switching away from Mendeley and to another software such as Zotero

**What problems is Mendeley solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can format works cited based upon different scientific journal styles and easily change these styles. It makes formatting my lit cited quicker, and gives me a meaningful way to annotate and tag articles

  ### 15. The simplicity and user friendly interface of Mendeley.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Diksha M. | Research Scholar, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Mendeley?**

As I am pursuing PhD, Mendely is the platform that helps me in managing citations and database for my reference papers. It is very easy to use with minimal complicacy while operating.

**What do you dislike about Mendeley?**

The latest version of Mendeley that has been rolled out has some glitches. It sometimes crashes and hangs and I had to open the app from the start. After facing this problem I switched to the older version.

**What problems is Mendeley solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mendeley is not only organizing the in-text citations but the bibliographic reference at the end of the note very efficiently. Not only that, it helps in managing the database very efficiently, which can be accessed easily along with features like notes for seperate papers.

  ### 16. Each year it gets worse

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Research | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Mendeley?**

It's a very good library, or at least it used to be. It allows you to organise your papers, PDFs, add notes, highlight text, etc.

**What do you dislike about Mendeley?**

It has too many flaws, which make the experience almost unbearable. It's a common topic among academics: why has Mendeley got so bad? It wasn't like this 7 years ago. The main problem is that they don't consider each user's needs. For example, it requires logging in all the time and never saves the passwords, despite selecting the box to save it. You need to log in every time, remember this password, and then log in again if you update it or close your laptop. It's a real nightmare. I give it 2 out of 10 stars. If they solved these issues, I'd give it 7.

**What problems is Mendeley solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I don't see any relevant problems being solved.

  ### 17. Helped a stressed, new PhD candidate

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ngoc Phuong Trinh N. | Researcher Phd Candidate on Longitudinal Learning Progress in Higher Education Institutions, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2022

**What do you like best about Mendeley?**

Mendeley helps overcome my issues with Endnote's unfriendly user interface and constant crashing. It is so flexible and well-updated that I could cite APA 7th while Word Reference tab only allows for APA 6th and I could not do much on the shared university device. Despite not being able to install the add-in, the older version of Mendeley works for me instead (with plug-in). I can still use the nicer interface of Mendeley's newest version online while flexibly make use of the older version's plug-in. Made my stressful day much better!

**What do you dislike about Mendeley?**

The switch from plug-in to add-in (which my university configured not to allow). But I can overcome this

**What problems is Mendeley solving and how is that benefiting you?**

(Detailed in previous answer)

  ### 18. A near to perfect software for references management.

Constant updates of this software have made it glitchy and need improvement.
Sometimes while inputting the details for reference Mendeley is not able to retrieve the correct information.

**What problems is Mendeley solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am actively using it for the bibliography and reference management of my legal research works and drafting.
Helping me in the review of the literature.
keeping track of important resources.

  ### 19. Best solution for reference management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** SUCHI A. | Research Scholar, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Mendeley?**

I can add articles, and books in various ways, but most importantly, I love the lookup metadata tool, it has made fetching all the details regarding a paper just by DOI so easy. And it works seamlessly across devices, the sync function provides an added advantage.

**What do you dislike about Mendeley?**

I have faced some issues with synchronization at the ceratin point and as it's sophisticated software, it needs some learning on how to use it to its best extent which makes it not the easiest software to use.

**Recommendations to others considering Mendeley:**

Go through the user guide, and learn the features first to use this software in the best way possible.

**What problems is Mendeley solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am an academic writer, and Mendeley is helping me through my citation management while writing.

Mendeley is free, easy to use and I like what they've done with the new user interface. It feels very polished and modern. I mainly use it for the convenience of cloud storage and syncing my research across multiple devices.

**What do you dislike about Mendeley?**

Mendeley's web importer is nearly useless to me. It takes forever to sign in and it does not pick up online research articles correctly in most cases, which results in me needing to add them manually anyway.

  ### 23. Mendeley used to be great, now its been ruined by Elsevier.

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Morgan R. | PhD Graduate Student, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Mendeley?**

It's free, cannot be used offline anymore. Mendeley used to be great, it used to be available entirely offline, or you could use the handy built-in literature search tool. Neither of these features are available anymore.

**What do you dislike about Mendeley?**

Everything great about Mendeley, from before the Elsevier acquisition, is gone. The application used to be entirely functional for creating in-text citations with the Word plug-in offline. Now, you must be signed in to your Mendeley account to use the Word plug-in. You can no longer work with your citations offline. Absolute rubbish; I will be finding a new reference manager and citation tool.

**What problems is Mendeley solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mendeley used to be my go to reference manager for writing scientific papers. All the benefits I used to enjoy are now gone. My business performance has decreased since Elsevier purchased Mendeley.

The best thing about Mendeley Desktop is its ability to watch a folder and automatically import the documents to your library.

**What do you dislike about Mendeley?**

The interface could be made more cleaner and modern

  ### 29. A comprehensive Citations and References Manager

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James K. | Research Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 15, 2021

**What do you like best about Mendeley?**

What I like best about Mendeley is that both the online and offline versions work seamlessly and sync across devices without any problems. The installation package for PCs is very light and integrates readily with Microsoft Word. I also like the Google Chrome and Microsoft Word plugins, which allow me to quickly add a reference I found online and format citations automatically.

**What do you dislike about Mendeley?**

Mendeley is not the easiest software to use; it is quite sophisticated compared to other tools I've used. Also, the sync storage allowed is limited, and it is a little difficult to attach files to citations within the Software. These challenges made me switch to another tool.

**What problems is Mendeley solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping track of all the citations and references I use for my articles and for literature reviews can be a daunting task. Mendeley makes this task easier to do.

  ### 30. My go to bibliography handler

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sanyog L. | M, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2021

**What do you like best about Mendeley?**

I can input the articles in various ways. I can either upload the pdf file in the offline software, which automatically reads the citation from the file. I can also add a citation manually or use Chrome extension to add any article in the list of references. It then automatically syncs them in my PC. I can use these references easily in Microsoft Word, by using its addon available inside Microsoft Word. There are a handful of citation styles to choose from. Also, it's very easy to handle duplicate references. This avoids having multiple instances of same references in the bibliography. I can also add a whole folder with the reference documents and it automatically creates citations for them. There are options to sort and filter the references using different parameters. It also provides the Citation Key, which lets me take my references to Latex very easily.

**What do you dislike about Mendeley?**

There are problems during the synchronization in many instances. Also, their servers are under maintenance sometimes, which results in loosing certain references.

**Recommendations to others considering Mendeley:**

If you are a researcher or someone trying to start new research, I recommend installing this first to avoid facing difficulties handling with references, especially when the research begins becoming bigger.

**What problems is Mendeley solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Currently, I'm using Mendeley to handle the bibliography for the research I'm conducting with the help of the university I studied. I use it to easily transfer citations into my Word and then later Latex documents.

  ### 31. Just started using Mendeley. Not a far.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christopher B. | Business Owner

**Reviewed Date:** June 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Mendeley?**

The installation was simple. That's about all.

**What do you dislike about Mendeley?**

The entire application is clunky and has the ability to weigh you down. Not a good thing.

**What problems is Mendeley solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm attempting to conduct research and execute papers more efficiently. Mendeley is not assisting.

  ### 32. Best tool to manage the references for your research

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 30, 2021

**What do you like best about Mendeley?**

I always recommend Mendeley to my students to be used as a tool to manage the references for their research work.
Mendeley is very handy when you have to read dozens of papers and keep track of what you read, take notes and annotate your files.
You can easily import your search results from some repositories and export your references in different formats.

**What do you dislike about Mendeley?**

Sometimes it does not recognize the PDF files correctly and shows wrong metedata.
Some files do not allow you to copy text from them, but I believe this is a PDF-related issue.

**What problems is Mendeley solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Mendeley to manage the bibliography of my research projects and to share these repositories with my students. It is a very effective way of sharing research papers and annotations with them.

  ### 33. Mendeley is an amazing resource for organizing and annotating publications!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kari N. | Graduate researcher, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2021

**What do you like best about Mendeley?**

I like that Mendeley allows me to organize all of my research papers by different categories, sorts them by author name, date, or title, and is a straightforward tool to build lists of reference literature. I also love that it is easy to highlight and annotate different papers while I read them and work offline if needed. My computer often gets overloaded with files, and I do not have time to go through them all, but Mendeley allows me to stay organized and manage all of my documents.

**What do you dislike about Mendeley?**

Mendeley was slightly confusing to use at first because I couldn't move files where I wanted them, and it took me a while to figure out how to create new categories to sort papers. Although this resource usually is very handy at collecting reference information, it sometimes misses an author name, paper title, or journal, which can be frustrating at times. Additionally, the notes tool is a very small sidebar and I often wish it was bigger and had more options for using bullet points or numbering as in Microsoft Word.

**Recommendations to others considering Mendeley:**

I would highly recommend Mendeley to anyone needing a resource for organizing their references. I used to have to print every paper or spend a very long time trying to sort through documents that I needed to read for my research, but now I can do everything I need on one application. I would also recommend that those already using Mendeley take advantage of the annotating tools rather than incorporating other software because it is much easier to organize everything if it is all in the same application.

**What problems is Mendeley solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Mendeley, I am managing to sort through literature related to my research in environmental photochemistry. It has been my best friend in trying to stay organized, store what information I have learned from each paper, and build a set of references for my future thesis and other research papers. I have benefitted from Mendeley's note-taking tools, and I appreciate that I can go back and see the critical findings that I have highlighted in the past.

  ### 34. My savior for research paper organization

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Noelle T. | Researcher, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2021

**What do you like best about Mendeley?**

It keeps me organized. I am the type of person who can't think if I'm not organized. I couldn't deal with just having a file of papers on my computer. Being able to catalog and search through them is amazing, sort by author or title, etc

**What do you dislike about Mendeley?**

Nothing. I'm happy with the way Mendeley works

**What problems is Mendeley solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Organization! No longer do I need to search through a file of papers all named whatever unrelated name the journal gave them

  ### 35. Needs updates

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jacob N. | Student Assistant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 08, 2021

**What do you like best about Mendeley?**

The overview of literature in the main window, the fact that you can change the way the library is presented and the optional MS Word Plugin.

**What do you dislike about Mendeley?**

Two years ago, I wrote an email to the programmers of Mendeley, asking why the library search results were looking so strange, and if any updates would fix these problems. The column width of "Mark as favorite" and" Mark as read" was very broad after a search, and the words searched for only appeared in the first couple of literature search results. They responded that they were working on it. I subsequently wrote them, more than a year later, asking why nothing had happened, and I received no response. Today, I realised that the litterature shuffles around, when I click the "Mark as favorite" icon of an article. There are just so many small bugs that they apparently do not plan on fixing.

**What problems is Mendeley solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Referencing to literature

  ### 36. Review on Mendley

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Research | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Mendeley?**

Wide variety of data base which includes research articles from almost all the arenas known. Easy searching interface will help you find the article based on the keywords.

**What do you dislike about Mendeley?**

Nothing in particular but regular update is required for removal of bugs and add the user friendly features.

**Recommendations to others considering Mendeley:**

A very easy to use and highly recommended tool for someone who works in research and development, and needs to write research articles and review them on daily basis.

**What problems is Mendeley solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used Mendley by linking it with MS-Word while writing the manuscript for my research work. It made the citation part very easy as it automatically incorporates the citation style as per the journal which was very beneficial.

  ### 37. discuss important topics and store important documents, all in one place.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Levi B. | Information Technology, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 28, 2021

**What do you like best about Mendeley?**

I have used similar platforms, but none is like Mendeley, it really fascinates me, its interface is simple to use, the menu is at a glance, where all the options you can find of the service are displayed.

I love that I can both import and export files from platforms like Zotero, Refworks and Endnote and I can also do it in RIS format.

I also like that it is not only a PDF reader, but also a PDF editor which means that I don't have to have an additional editing program.

One of the best features of this platform is that I can generate automatic reference lists and add direct notes to the files.

Signing up is easy, as you can do it in seconds, either with an email or from your Facebook account.

It has two versions one free and one paid, I must say that both work with a very superior quality and certainly the paid version has many more features, however with the free version you can also do a quality work.

**What do you dislike about Mendeley?**

Really Mendeley has been an incredible support, there is nothing I don't like about this platform.

**Recommendations to others considering Mendeley:**

Well, it's very simple, because it's the best platform of all in its style, plus it's the version of one of the most accessible on the market and its quality is exceptional.

**What problems is Mendeley solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The shortest question would be what hasn't Mendeley helped me with, and that is that this platform has been a big driver in my research work. Thanks to Mendeley, I have been able to access bibliographies that I never imagined, and I have done so in the simplest way possible.

I should also note that thanks to Mendeley I was able to find much support in my research work because the platform works as a kind of social network for researchers, which provides a chat room to interact with other people who are also focused on the same field of work.

  ### 38. Mendeley is ruined

**What do you like best about Mendeley?**

It was good overall. Then after it stopped being desk top app it just wasn't good enough

**What do you dislike about Mendeley?**

Word plug in requires constant install. PW gets corrupted. References disappear and are duplicated. It's now a pain to use

**What problems is Mendeley solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have stopped using Mendeley

  ### 39. Great Research Tool

Solving my research problems. Helps me organise my research work

  ### 40. The best program for processing a bibliography of research paper

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Agung R. | Staff of Sub Directorate Region IIC Directorate of Road and Bridge Preservation Region II , Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 05, 2021

**What do you like best about Mendeley?**

All files that I have entered in the Mendeley program will be detected automatically in the form of title, author, page, file type quantity, abstract, original url, etc. without having to enter them one by one. Then, very helpful in doing citation on writing research papers, because Mendeley can automatically do it with just one click or one keyword. Every research paper that we add to the Mendeley program will be automatically sorted both by the author of the title of the year and the publisher so that in making a bibliography the author does not have to sort it again.

Mendeley supports Annotation, Highlight and text copy. In this software there is a pdf reader so that when we open an article title in Mendeley and retrieve data from our pdf paper file, we can immediately open the file without opening it in the pdf reader program. In addition, we can also add important notes (Annotation), highlight the text and copy the text.

I am very happy to use the net import facility provided by Mendeley to make it easier for us to add files to the program without having to download them first.

**What do you dislike about Mendeley?**

When I write a research paper, sometimes there are problems with the tables in Microsoft Word when I connect to Mendeley. but basically I can overcome this obstacle.

Mendeley will upload all files on the local hard disk to the Mendeley web site, so that if we get these files from paid journals such as ScienceDirect, ProQuest, ClinicalKey, of course there will be a little problem, especially with access rights to these files.

**What problems is Mendeley solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was very helpful in compiling a bibliography when I was writing scientific papers, no need to compile one by one. with Mendeley, everything will be arranged properly and correctly automatically. besides that, it is very helpful for me to do citations in writing research paper.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Annabella A. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2020

**What do you like best about Mendeley?**

I love that it's a cloud-based service and that you can highlight and add notes from any computer that connects to the internet. The citation manager has also saved me a LOT of time with bibliographies. I also like that I can arrange my pdf files by subject area or author. I like that through the platform I can organize my documents, store them (the free version has 2 GB of storage) and I can also share the information. It is a forum for scholars, but as a normal student you can also use it and get great knowledge for your midterms and college assignments, I use it frequently and it has been amazing.

**What do you dislike about Mendeley?**

I really like Mendeley and I don't have any malfunctions in my experience. I love it. But if I use the app, I would like there to be an auto save / auto sync option. Often I fail to synchronize added files, so on other devices I can not access them.

**Recommendations to others considering Mendeley:**

Since the platform is cross-functional, you can do a lot and it is easy. You can use it as a PDF reader as well as an editor, it's a science search engine with millions of publications and references available. Make sure you read the YouTube tutorials or read about Mendeley various things. There's a little curve for learning, but that's worth it.

**What problems is Mendeley solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mendeley helped me a lot by using this analysis and study tool, as my academic qualifications have risen tremendously, allowing me to do better work and helping me complement all the classes at the university. I must also admit that you still have someone on the platform to help you understand. With added highlights and notes I'm organizing all my PDF files in one room. I use the plugin function to simplify the bibliography when I want to include a quote.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Helen C. | Application Development, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2020

**What do you like best about Mendeley?**

What I appreciate most about Mendeley is that it is a free platform, this wonder puts at my disposal valuable tools for a zero cost, the only thing you need is to register and that is extremely simple because their platform is very easy to understand, is simple and dynamic.

Mendeley also works as a PDF reader and with it I can store up to 2GB of information entering data and documents online, plus it allows me to share 100MB of information for free.

I like the compatibility that it has with almost any online browser, and in turn that compatibility allows me to extract information directly from the Internet and the best thing is that when I extract it, the platform creates a technical information sheet with the author, the year, the publisher and the page from which it was extracted.

In the same line of thought, because if we talk about compatibility, it is also necessary to mention that Mendeley is compatible with the most prominent operating systems on the market, such as Mac, Windows and Linux.

Its mobile version is also incredible, both on Iphone and iPad it works perfectly and does not affect the performance of the smartphone at all.

**What do you dislike about Mendeley?**

Mendeley is the best platform that exists for researchers, however if you want to use it as a social network to share information, you must pay a fee for the service.

**Recommendations to others considering Mendeley:**

Well, I would recommend Mendeley because it is the best platform that exists for research, there you will not only find bibliographies, references and publications, but always some colleague will be willing to help you in your work.

**What problems is Mendeley solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mendeley has helped me communicate with other professionals in my field who have made important contributions to my work. In addition, working with my team has never been easier, because as my team reads the information, they can add their notes directly to the document.

It has also made it easier for me to make my work public and disseminate it.

Finally, I can't help but mention that Mendeley has made my life easier in terms of statistics on downloads, consultations, etc., so I can keep track of how much my work is disseminated.

  ### 46. Platform to save references and documents.

**Reviewed by:** Jacey J. | Student, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2020

**What do you like best about Mendeley?**

Mendeley provides a great solution not only to store and then quote all papers together, but also to create a research network by sharing files. What I like most of Mendeley is that you can use Mendeley not only as a science search engine, but also as a social network for researchers. You will be able to find all the choices and tools the platform provides through the main menu while talking about its interface, since it is very pleasant and simple to understand. Millions of sources, bibliographies and journals are very useful to be available for free.

**What do you dislike about Mendeley?**

I don't love anything about this platform, it's fine, quick, safe and easy to use in my opinion. You always need internet access to use Mendeley on the phone, which is the only negative thing.

**Recommendations to others considering Mendeley:**

I suggest using this website, so you can organize documents and promote your work, as the best way is to find the scientific knowledge that I need. It's free, best of all.

**What problems is Mendeley solving and how is that benefiting you?**

First of all it allowed me to interact more with my research team, so everybody can keep abreast of work from their own computers and add or edit information very quickly. The major advantage is that the program has not been mounted on your computer. It's really important for me that Mendeley can be open anywhere online. It also helped me to arrange my documents and to give priority to my job. In exchange, I was able to collaborate and assist with the study of my colleagues. Mendeley is also the strongest knowledge sharing and data network.

  ### 47. Robust literature management tool

It can be a bit slow and at times, clunky. I've found the web tool and new desktop software to be a lot more sleek and less hard on my computer.

**What problems is Mendeley solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I organize my literature for research, staff training and manuscript preparation. The ability to re-format references across formatting styles quickly also saves me hours of time.

I like that although the platform has a paid version, the free one works perfectly, when you are a student it works well, because for research it is excellent and you don't need to acquire the paid version because the most impressive thing about that version is that it gives you access to a chat that allows researchers to exchange information about their research and support their work, just like a special social network for researchers and academics.

This program is compatible with Windows and also with Mac, as well as with Linux, also if you do not want to install it on your PC, you can use its web version or its mobile version, either from the smartphone or from the iPad, the truth is that it works well from wherever you use it, it is fast and secure.

**What do you dislike about Mendeley?**

In my experience, Mendeley is an amazing platform, I really love it and have found absolutely nothing negative to say about it.

**Recommendations to others considering Mendeley:**

Because it is a multifunctional platform, you can do many things with it and it is free. You can use it as a PDF reader and also as a publisher, it is a search engine for scientific information, and it has millions of references and publications at your disposal.

**What problems is Mendeley solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mendeley has helped me a lot, since I use this platform for research and study as my academic grades have increased exponentially, she has helped me to do quality work and helps me to complement all the classes at the university.

Besides, I must confess that you always find in the platform someone who wants to contribute to your study.

**What problems is Mendeley solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All my scientific production it's organized using Mendeley. It's a fantastic tool to write and make your reference list simultaneously. In that way, you never forget from where you took that information!
