"Modern interface, easy configuration, and fast chat support"
4.5/5
What do you like best about 8x8 Work?

The interface of 8x8 Work is modern and simple. Employees can quickly find their way around even without prior experience. Configuration as IT is straightforward, ensuring the ability to respond to spontaneous internal events, whether it's call forwarding or quickly assigning a phone number. We mostly use the Microsoft Teams integration. The price-performance ratio is acceptable, and billing control is possible through the portal for the itemized bill. Support responded via chat within a few seconds; initially, an AI asked questions and then directed me to the right support agent, who also helped me. We have had no performance issues. What do you dislike about 8x8 Work?

There are some difficulties with the Microsoft dial pad, thus affecting the initial setup. The problem is known, and I assume that 8x8 is working on a solution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Alison Stewart of 8x8 Work

Hi Leon, Fantastic to hear the modern interface, fast IT configuration, and Teams integration are all delivering so well! The Microsoft dial pad setup issue is noted. Eliminating hardware phones and streamlining number management are exactly the kind of wins we love to deliver!

"Feature-Rich Phone System with Great Ring Groups & Analytics"
5/5
What do you like best about 8x8 Work?

I'm familiar with 8x8 from previous jobs & already liked all of the features, especially around ring groups & analytics! I wanted a new phone system for my current job, so I recommended 8x8 to my boss & compared it to other phone system softwares & showed him that 8x8 is best for us Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about 8x8 Work?

It'd be nice to be able to send & receive texts somehow from the main hunt group number that we use as caller ID, but I understand how that might not be feasible Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Alison Stewart of 8x8 Work

Hi Joseph, Love that you championed 8x8 and brought it to your current role! Protecting your personal number while gaining proper analytics and oversight is such a great outcome. The hunt group SMS idea is a great suggestion and we'll make sure it gets passed along to our product team. Thanks for being such a great advocate!

"8x8: Rock-Solid Cloud Telephony with SMS and an Intuitive Admin Interface"
5/5
What do you like best about 8x8 Work?

8x8 seems to be a very solid cloud-based IP telephony provider. Over the past four years, we’ve had very few issues and practically no downtime. I really like the SMS capability and the configuration options available. The admin interface is also fairly intuitive and easy to navigate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about 8x8 Work?

I can’t really think of any downsides, since 8x8 uses multiple redundant data centers that are strategically located across the United States. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Alison Stewart of 8x8 Work

Hi David, Four years of rock-solid reliability — that's exactly what we aim for! We love hearing that our redundant infrastructure, SSL authentication, and seamless device switching are making a real difference compared to the competition. Thanks for the detailed and thoughtful review!

"Seamless Multi-Device Handoff, But Inconsistent Admin UX"
2.5/5
What do you like best about 8x8 Work?

The ability to use the product across multiple devices seamlessly. Signed in on a mobile as well as my work device. Great for handing off between them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about 8x8 Work?

The admin section of the back end is inconsistant. There are screens where the tables are filterable, this isn't the case across all screens. Seems basic UX experience is not considered.

Simple things like a block of a telephone number across an organisation requires a user license and a clunky workaround to get this to work over multiple pbx's. This should be bread and butter simple stuff. But the web interface is quite limited on features like this. It should be controllable globally on the numbers assigned to our organisation.

The performance monitoring screens for calls never seems to fully capture what the end user is experiencing.

Exporting devices is the only way to see the mac address and ip address of a device. This page should be filterable. Instead it is limited to 60 devices until you scroll. Export is the only way around. Which is rubbish as you then have a saved doc with all device passwords not locally in the product in plain text. Security risk everytime we have to export. We have raised this via the support channels or requests but not seen any improvement in this. Again this goes back to the UX should be the same across all screens, even rarely used screens. A table page should have some mechanism to filter. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Alison Stewart of 8x8 Work

HI Bernard, Great to hear seamless multi-device handoff is working well, and glad the AI voice prompts have simplified your IVR setup! Your detailed feedback on admin UX consistency, number blocking, device filtering, and the security risk around exported passwords is invaluable, this will be raised to our Product team. Thank you for taking the time to document it so thoroughly.

"User friendly,Reliable and all in one platform."
4.5/5
What do you like best about 8x8 Work?

What I like best about 8x8 is that it combines calling, video meetings, messaging, and contact-center features into one platform, which makes collaboration much easier for distributed teams. Users and reviewers also frequently praise its reliability, integrations with tools like Salesforce and Google Workspace, and the ease of managing users and settings. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about 8x8 Work?

What I dislike that 8x8 can occasionally have call-quality issues and a confusing admin interface. Others mention that customer support response times can be inconsistent, and certain advanced features take time to learn. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Alison Stewart of 8x8 Work

"Salesforce Integration Fell Short, and Inbound Recording Options Are Too Limited"
2/5
What do you like best about 8x8 Work?

Its easy to administer. I like that its a cloud-based phone system where users can access the features of 8x8 wherever they have internet. 8x8's uptime overall is very good. Support is very responsive by phone. However, if you ask for an email vs. phone call, they call you anyway. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about 8x8 Work?

Inpro has asked for a screen pop integration to Salesforce and after a year-long project, the integration still does not work and the project was canceled.

We would like to have inbound call recording only to comply with two party notification laws across the country and that is only available for contact center users (we do not use contact center). Therefore, we do not have call recording or sentiment analysis or any sort of call note taking capabilities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Alison Stewart of 8x8 Work

Dear Crystal, Thanks for the honest review! We're glad the cloud flexibility and uptime are delivering for your team. We understand that Salesforce integration experience and inbound-only recording limitations are limitations for you. We're also actively working to improve mobile call stability on cellular data.

"Simple, Easy-to-Navigate Interfaces with All the Info You Need"
4/5
What do you like best about 8x8 Work?

I like that the 8x8 Work and Admin interfaces are really simple and easy to navigate but still give you all the information you may need for a given task. The menu titles are good categories and the settings or information I nee is clearly labeled Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about 8x8 Work?

I don't like that changing voicemail greetings and recording new ones and setting the ones you want or reviewing the ones you have is a reasonably complex process, for 8x8 Admin console as well! I'd like to be able to see and review/edit/delete my recorded voicemail greeting(s) from the 8x8 app and to be able to switch between the one I want active without having to navigate a complex and time consuming phone menu. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Alison Stewart of 8x8 Work

Hi John, Thanks for the kind words on our interface design — clear and intuitive is exactly what we aim for! Your feedback on voicemail management is spot on; switching greetings should be simple, not a maze. That's genuinely useful input and we'll take it on board. Glad provisioning is a breeze!

"8x8 Great Product"
5/5
What do you like best about 8x8 Work?

It's a solid product, Works very well and very intuitive to users. Installation is easy whether using MSI or EXE, both take a few minutes to install. While on phone, it can be flipped to cell phone instantly, There is also an Outlook snap in for meetings. We use it on a dialy basis and most of our folks love the products. Also customer service is top notch. We'll get a call from support within hours of placing a ticket. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about 8x8 Work?

I have not come across anything i dislike about 8x8 except when placing a ticket or support call and picking the time zone. This list is very long. If they could somehow revamp this feature and make it easier to get to our time zone that would be great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Alison Stewart of 8x8 Work

Hi Steve, we appreciate your positive review. It's great to hear you find 8x8 easy to use and that the support team has been top-notch. Thank you for your feedback on selecting your time zone. Thank you for choosing 8x8!

"8x8 Work Makes Business Communication Simple, Reliable, and Easy to Adopt"
5/5
What do you like best about 8x8 Work?

What I like best about 8x8 Work is that it makes business communication simple and reliable. We use it mainly for calls and team communication, and the call quality has been good overall. The interface is easy to understand, so even new team members can start using it without much training.

I also like that it helps keep communication in one place instead of using multiple tools. It saves time and makes daily operations smoother, especially when handling frequent client and internal calls. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about 8x8 Work?

One thing I dislike is that sometimes the app can feel a little slow, especially when switching between features. There have also been moments where the interface feels less intuitive on mobile compared to desktop.

Another area that could improve is customer support response time for urgent issues. Overall, the platform is useful, but a few performance and usability improvements would make the experience even better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Alison Stewart of 8x8 Work

Dear Joseph, Thank you for the detailed feedback! We’re glad 8x8 Work helps your team stay organised and simplifies your daily communications. We appreciate your honesty regarding app speed and mobile usability; we’re constantly working on performance updates. We also hear you on support response times and are striving to improve!

"Best Voice Over IP"
5/5
What do you like best about 8x8 Work?

I started with 8X8 in March of 2025. I was clueless on how to get started. 8X8 customer service walked me through everything I needed, including integration with Salesforce, and a Text message marketing campaign began my journey with 8X8 in March 2025. I was unsure how to get started. The customer service team at 8X8 guided me through everything I needed, including integration with Salesforce and setting up a text marketing campaign. I highly recommend this product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about 8x8 Work?

I can't say anything negative about it. 8X8 has exceeded all my expectations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
