# Which Location Intelligence platforms allow distance calculations between locations with support for multiple transportation modes?

The useful split in this list is between tools that calculate the route and tools that display the result. Esri ArcGIS having network analysis built for routing across different transportation modes makes it the natural calculation layer, and the BI tools like Tableau and Qlik Sense then work well as the place to show distance-based relationships once the numbers exist. Treating them as two stages rather than competing options probably saves a lot of comparison effort.
