# Which financial data APIs platforms offer straightforward integration without requiring significant engineering rework?

<p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">In conversations with engineering leads for a piece I'm writing, one question keeps coming up: which <a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/categories/financial-data-apis">financial data APIs</a> platforms offer straightforward integration without requiring significant engineering rework? I've looked through the category, and these are a few platforms that show up often:</p><ul>
<li>
<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/merge-unified/reviews"><strong>Merge Unified</strong></a><strong>:</strong> Common model design means no rewriting integration logic each time a new data source gets added.</li>
<li>
<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/apideck-unify/reviews"><strong>Apideck Unify</strong></a><strong>:</strong> Implementation in a few hours with clear docs and an admin portal that removes custom credential management work.</li>
<li>
<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/finch-finch/reviews"><strong>Finch</strong></a><strong>:</strong> Structured onboarding surfaces integration pitfalls before go-live, with front-end modal components that work out of the box.</li>
<li>
<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/codat/reviews"><strong>Codat</strong></a><strong>:</strong> Cuts integration time significantly compared to direct builds, with docs that flag platform-specific differences upfront.</li>
</ul><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">Which of these actually delivered on the "straightforward" promise when you started building? And what's one thing you wish you'd known going in?</p>

Where does rework tend to appear after launch: schema differences, sync timing, missing fields, rate limits, or edge cases from individual data providers. The best API is the one that keeps those differences from turning into repeated engineering projects.
