# Which CAD viewers are most trusted by mechanical designers and sales engineers for instant file sharing with outside partners?

&lt;p&gt;The point about how much of the model the partner receives is important for sales engineering. I’d also test whether you can control what they can inspect. A customer may need dimensions and section views for a technical discussion without needing access to every layer or underlying design detail. Granular sharing controls could matter as much as file compatibility here.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;A cloud link would win for me when the partner just needs fast access, but a lightweight viewer file can feel safer when connectivity or permissions are unpredictable. File compatibility is still the real deal-breaker—if the partner can’t open it cleanly, the rest of the sharing experience doesn’t matter.&lt;/p&gt;
