# What helps when a recipient has trouble scanning a Blinq QR code on their phone?

I've been trying to work out what helps when a recipient has trouble scanning a Blinq QR code on their phone. The answer people give is simple: explain the scan as you share it, and keep another route ready, such as a physical card, for the phones that don't pick it up. The trouble sits on the recipient's side, where phone type and code quality affect the scan and some recipients aren't sure what to do once the card opens, so a contact can walk away without your details. What Blinq does well is make the card worth scanning: sharing by QR is one of the things people like most, and the card updates for everyone the moment your details change, with notes on where you met each person.

Reading across digital business card tools, the deciding factor seems to be how familiar the audience is with scanning. A tech or sales crowd scans without thinking; a mixed audience at a trade show includes people seeing a digital card for the first time, and a ten-second explanation does more there than any feature. Going by G2 reviews, Blinq suits people who share often enough to build that habit.

What I'd like to hear from people using it at events:

What do you say while the other person scans?

Which phones, if any, give you trouble most often?

What's your fallback when a scan doesn't work?

Has anyone tracked how many of the people they share with actually end up saving the contact?

<p>Saying "just point your camera at it" as I share has made a noticeable difference. The card updating for everyone when my details change is my favourite part.</p>
