# What happens when a Xero bank feed disconnects, and how do users reconnect it?

<p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">Bank feeds are the reason a lot of people choose <a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/xero/reviews">Xero</a>, so I've been looking at what happens when a feed disconnects and how users get it reconnected. When it's running, transactions arrive without any data entry and reconciliation is quick. When it drops, new transactions pause until it's reconnected, and the gap is usually picked up at reconciliation. The routine people describe on G2 is to reconnect the feed, reconcile the missing days and check matching suggestions before accepting them, with manual setup covering any bank that isn't offered. Part of any disconnection sits with the bank's own connection rather than Xero.</p><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">For <a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/categories/accounting">accounting</a> buyers, it comes down to how your bank connects.
